my wife patronized this salon for approximately eight and a half months, and in that time I have never encountered a nail technician--let alone an owner--whose demeanor was as consistently condescending, dismissive, and devoid of accountability as Vivian. my wife has been having her nails done for 27 years, and at no point in those decades has she been subjected to the level of attitude and deflection she experienced here as i was there all the time. She extended far more grace than was warranted solely because the work itself is good--however, let me be unequivocally clear: comparable quality can be found elsewhere for less money, provided one is willing to do minimal research. My wife ultimately did exactly that and found someone closer to home who executes intricate designs flawlessly, without belittling clients or dismissing their requests as "AI," as Vivian repeatedly did. What is most troubling is the complete abdication of responsibility Vivian exhibits as an owner. She openly complained to us about being stressed, about staff who "don't want to learn the harder work," and about how this somehow becomes the client's burden to bear. That is not leadership--that is deflection. If the salon is understaffed, phones go unanswered, appointments run perpetually late, that is a management failure, not a client failing. Despite arriving on time for every appointment, she was routinely made to wait 15-20 minutes, only to be told--astonishingly--that this was somehow her fault. Her justification? "Well, you see how I work." That is not an explanation; it is an excuse. On several occasions, when Vivian asked her to choose a design and she deferred by saying, "You can pick," she consistently selected designs that were significantly more expensive. When she later complained via text that my wife's designs put her behind"--despite the fact that she chose them herself--she claimed she "wasn't blaming her," while doing exactly that. Her unprofessionalism reached its apex when she questioned a tip due to a misunderstanding. Let me clarify something Vivian appears not to grasp: as the owner, no one is obligated to tip you at all. Nonetheless, she tipped over 20 percent on many occasions, based on the quality of work--certainly not the attitude. In all her years as a client, she had never had a service provider question a tip, much less suggest she could "give more next time." That was insulting, patronizing, and wholly inappropriate. In fact I told her to stop seeing her at that point because I was shocked at that. Additionally, she was charged $130 for a Halloween set where she explicitly requested two ghost designs only in the two ring fingers. Despite her reiterating this during the service, additional designs were added without consent, followed by a full charge. Being told "don't worry" and then billed anyway is deeply untruthful and concerning. Vivian also contradicts herself repeatedly. She initially claimed that everyone at the salon could do what she does, only to later state--in writing--that they cannot. One technician can "only do simple," yet clients are told all services are equivalent. This inconsistency is misleading at best. Lastly, threatening that "bad reviews ruin a business" is profoundly ironic. Your attitude is what will damage your business, not honest feedback. What Vivian heard from her and myself recently was not sudden hostility, but months of accumulated frustration stemming from her refusal to accept accountability, her habit of twisting narratives, and her tendency to project operational stress onto paying clients. Hire staff capable of advanced work. Train or replace those unwilling to learn. Delegate scheduling and phone management. Most importantly, stop blaming clients for problems that originate at the top. Any response to this review will likely be more of the same--deflection and excuses--which will only further validate every concern stated here. read more

I would give a negative star if I could. My daughters went in there, on a time crunch for prom, wanting the express pedicure. They were conned into extended pedicure and instead of paying the $30, they ended to pay $141. The nails looked mediocre at best. Wouldn't suggest this salon for anyone. read more

I tried this nail salon for the first time recently while visiting RI, despite growing up in the area. Nguyen was my nail tech for the mani, and he was great - very friendly and executed the design & shape I requested flawlessly. I made an appointment online that morning, came a few minutes early & was seen right away. For my pedicure, I had an older woman who was less talkative, but still warm & kind. I noticed a few other workers who seemed less friendly than Nguyen & this woman, so YMMV. Also, while it was fairly quiet when I arrived around 1:50 PM on a weekday, I noticed it got quite a bit busier around 3. Overall, I had a great experience and am very happy with my nails. I've been here twice, and to my understanding there are two gentleman- a younger one and an older one. First time I went, I had the younger man and he is very sweet. He took his time. This most recent visit, I had the older gentleman. I arrived 7 minutes early so I knew I had enough time to pick a color without feeling rushed... well, that didn't matter to him. I was looking through the colors for about 30 seconds when he tells me to go sit. I let him know I'm still picking a color and he tells me to bring some of the samples to my seat (which I was totally fine with), however he tries to take one I was still thinking about out of my hand. Next, when I sat down, he started coughing. This lasted for a minute or so; no mask on, no covering his mouth. I let him know from the beginning I just wanted a gel polish change, yet he kept making remarks about "how much skin" was on my fingers (my cuticles are fine). The grand finale was when he aggressively filed my nails so hard that my pinky started to bleed. I pointed it out to him, asked for a bandage, and he just said "oh I'm sorry". At the end of filing, he sits back and goes "all done"... no cuticle cream. Whatever. I ask if I can wash my hands, he repeats "you're all done". Ooook... I go off to wash my hands quickly, and he's already leading the next customer to my seat. He picks up my phone and purse and hands it to me. Still no bandage offered for my finger, even after I asked. I was very disappointed... if you're going to come here, don't ever go to this man. read more

I didn't mind them in the beginning but now the service, quality and professionalism is lacking. The only polite person there is the male owner. His wife is rude and dismissive. She acts as though she can't be bothered with anyone. This will be my 6/7 time there and more than half of those times I've scheduled and appointment only to have to wait when I got there and not sit with the person I made the appointment with. The pedicures there are rushed and done ass backwards. I've never ever been to a place that puts cuticle softener on then immediately jams your cuticles back. Rather you should be letting them soak for a bit in the water. They do not even bother trying to check for ingrown nails. In fact, they actually make them worse. They have never in the last few times filed my nails the way I asked and I always leave with paint on my skin. I was in the business for many years so I know the standards. Not to mention them always saying they can't do your nails how you ask to try and make you spend more money by paying for more services. It's a shady way of doing business!! I walked in, and I was greated by a very unpleasant woman at the first station. Asked what I was there for & asked what colors I wanted. Pointed me in the direction of the gels and dropped her head.I had a hard time finding a design and the pink I wanted, at one point I was even looking at the same gel samples (oops well in my defense there are a lot of those little sample nails on 1 ring, riight ladies), that same unpleasant woman then looks up, ah those are the same. I awkwardly make the joke "at least I chose the same pink". She just looked especially annoyed and looked down. Okay then, ill just be over here, struggling. Finally I did choose my colors, and I also did pick a regular color to have changed on my toes, which I made clear to the gentleman who took me over to start my set. He said, "ok." I thought he would do that first, then do my nails. No. Anyway, so I did let him know right away, my hands and nails are very sensitive and will need him to be gentle. He was not. He cut me twice. The one I'm showing was the deeper one he did while shaping my nail; he continued on squeezing and filing. He did apologize, but sir, these are human hands, not meat to grind. Clearly, I was in pain. I asked him twice for something to help with the bleeding. But He was more concerned with his allergies. As a matter of fact, almost all the staff were sneezing and / or coughing. Take care of that before you come to work, please. At the end of my nails being done, he asked if I wanted my toes done. I said no twice. All I could think was no, I'm not staying here for another 20 minutes. My nails were shaped uneven; of course, I did not notice until after I left. The design is cute. I got there about ten minutes early so i could look at the nail colors, the woman that was going to do my pedi came over and told me to go to the chair! Ok so I have been coming here on and off for a while. I haven't enjoyed my last couple of visits here. Number 1. They had a new person do my pedicure the last time and it took two hours. It was nothing special. Just a plain pedi. What an awful job. I felt bad and tipped her anyway and I chalked it up to one bad experience. Number 2. I walked in today expecting the place to be open and running at 930am as it is stated on the web site and it's also posted on the front door that they are open at 9:30am. I walked in the girl attending the place is rude. She gives me some sort of grunt. Turns her back and started cleaning the tubs. Mind you it's 86 degrees outdoors and the air conditioner isn't even on yet. I sat down picked my color and figured I would be the first one to be serviced. Three other people came in and sat down and didn't have appointments either. The one worker there was still cleaning the tubs. WTH!! Now it's 950 am the one girl working takes the second person that came in for a pedi!!! Not me!!! So, she said it will be 10 more minutes. I was taken aback. I thought being there first I would be serviced first. Nope! Ok, I let that roll of my back ...no problem... 1010 am I am still waiting to be serviced!!! Everyone that came in after I did was being taken care of. None of which had appointments!! I am looking forward to telling all my friends how they treat customers. Like my time isn't as important as someone else's! Who do they think they are? If you say you are open at 930 am be ready to service customers, not clean the equipment. Open at 10 if you need that half hour to clean. I told the person that seemed to be the manager what I thought. She did say she was sorry. Not acceptable! When you say your open to service customers, be open to service customers .. not clean , so the customers have to watch! Do they figure if they get you in early you won't leave?... just waste your time to sit there to wait, and watch someone clean ?? No wonder why she was so rude! They will never see me there again. I came into Perfect Nails @ 5:45 PM on a Saturday after work (states online they're open until 6:30 PM) and as I walked in I was greeted kindly at the door and I said I was there for a fill & pedi. As I sat down waiting to be told where to go, the workers went back in forth discussing who was going to help me because apparently they close at 6 PM (not 6:30 like it says online). The gentleman at the desk then said they could do one or the other, not both so I said okay, I'll do a fill. I sat there for another ten minutes while the employees argued in front of me before I walked out. Never had I been so frustrated. Either you want the service / money or you don't. I've come here for many years. They do not have new owners. The owners opened up another salon down the road & you don't see them anymore in this establishment. Now the place is completely mismanaged. I recently stopped coming here because the service has changed since the owners aren't around anymore to supervise their employees. They did hire a few new people but still out of all the nail technicians they have, only one woman actually cares and does a good job. If I would have reviewed this place two years ago, I would of gave them 4 stars but today they're lucky to get 2. Service isn't the same. Workers just don't care and the quality is lacking. There's a new older man there who does nails and he rushes and does sloppy work. The last two times that I went, unfortunately I was stuck with this man one time and a careless older woman the time before and both times my fingers were hacked. I'm typically happy with my nails here, however, my most recent visit makes me question if I want to go back. It was a Thursday and they were extremely busy at 3pm. I had requested Wendy and never got to see her. I had about 3 or 4 people work on my mani/pedi. My nails look beautiful but won't last long. It's a gel manicure which will last me about 3 -4 weeks but the girl who polished my nails polished over my cuticles which makes it lift and peel faster. My experience were a bit different than what I have read from other reviews. When I entered perfect nails, I was greeted with kind smiles. I was asked what service I needed today - i usually only do manicure or pedicure. I wasn't sure and wanted to try something different, so Tram had gone over the pros and cons of each service that they had provided. She was very helpful and patience. In the end I couldn't make up my mind so I did a manicure and pedicure. They really took their time with the massages and made sure I was comfortable. They ask me how I would like my manicure and pedicure done. They pretty much had me involved in every step. How do you like your nails shaped? Ok, how does this look? Are you please with this? If you are let's go on to the next step. I was pleasantly surprised that they provided such excellent service, I was grateful I didn't just walk away from this shop after reading the reviews. Happy customer and I will be returning. Sometimes, money isn't everything - just because we throw money at someone we can't expect that they give their family time up for our demand. Be mindful of people's time, don't come in the last hour of their closing and expect things that takes 1hr or 2hrs to be done. Make an appointment, call in advance. I am going to do that when I see them next. People have family and places to be, just like you! You wouldn't want to stay after to work for your boss if you're not getting paid extra.
