I got a $35 gift card from my mother in December 2019 for this nail salon. Then Covid hit 3 months later and I was unable to use it for various health and safety reasons. Fast forward to today, where I found the gift card (with proof of purchase receipt), called the salon, made an appointment for a gel manicure, and was so excited to get my first manicure in over three years. I was immediately greeted by Helen when I walked in. She has a great smile, and kind eyes. She helped me pick a gel polish color and gave me a great manicure. Her technique was great, and her station and tools were impeccably clean. We had a nice conversation about family and Thanksgiving while she did my nails. I love how they came out and she did a fantastic job. When the manicure was finished and I went up front to pay, I presented my gift card (with receipt). Helen said "one moment please" as she went to get a manager to help her with the gift card transaction. The manager scoffed at me and said "that gift card is old and expired and we can't take it". I explained to her that there is no expiration date printed on the gift card nor on the receipt, and the receipt clearly shows that the business was paid. I also mentioned that I don't have the funds to pay for the service, as I was relying on using the gift card. The manager then actively started ignoring me and Helen, turning her back and talking to other employees. Helen looked despondent and like she truly didn't know what to do. I tipped Helen in cash, and apologized to her. I told her I can't pay for the manicure right now but she said I could return later that week with cash or card. I am so disappointed in lack of professionalism on the managers part. She didn't even TRY to understand her customer or help her employee. She was petty, rude and awful. Helen: professional, friendly, and amazing. The 3 stars are solely for her. Manager: rude, unhelpful, bitchy, condescending. Had she even attempted to be helpful, I would consider a better review of her salon.

Chipped nails after 2 days

Not even 2 days later my gel manicure chipped. A week later, 6 nails are fully chipped. Really upsetting after being up-charged to a manicure when I just wanted a polish change. Waste of money.

If your looking g for a quiet and relaxing place to get your nails done I recommend coming here! I came on a Thursday morning. I booked online through yelp (which is awesome). From the moment I walked in they were very friendly and welcoming. I had my nails done by Melanie she was great! I came in with a bad nail job from a previous salon and she fixed it! I got the pink and white ombre nails and a white gel pedicure. All of it came out so pretty. I will be coming again! Wish I came in sooner!

This is not even an entire week later; chipped an broken. (I do not do any strenuous activities like gym or soccer.)

I made an appointment and still had to wait. I was given a mediocre pedicure. I was with two of my best friends getting the same service and they received totally different pedicures. The woman did not ask me if I wanted to cut my toe nails down and cut them anyways; too short by the way. I asked them if they did acrylic on the toes and they said yes; took him longer to fix my nails than it did for the actual pedicure. I was supposed to also get a full set but was disappointed in the pedicure so changed my mind. Not even an entire week later and one of my nails broke and the other chipped. My best friends gel manicure cracked, bubbled and chipped within 2-3 days. Bathroom is very clean, establishment was very clean, nail techs used brand new equipment for each pedicure every time. But if you're looking for quality work, just go to the Lincoln mall; don't waste your time or money.

Was nervous since my nails never come out how I want them anywhere I go but so so happy my nails are perfect and beautiful and my daughter got the princess manicure and pedicure she was pampered and had the time of her life!! Amazing service

Have been to Bonsai twice, once for a manicure in November and again 3 days ago for a pedicure with my three daughters. Our first experience was fine. This time, however, I ended up with an open wound on my foot because of overly aggressive exfoliating. My oldest daughter had the same nail tech and also has raw skin in the same spot. He didn't acknowledge that it had happened, even though my foot was bleeding during the pedicure. The experience was disappointing and painful. I will not be returning.

Updated after coming back another time-- Tina doesn't work at this location and a dip mani and pedicure cost me $80 (10 extra for having an ombré, which I wasn't charged last time). Still a clean salon and the pedicure was relaxing, but not worth $80 when there was still my old polish all over my fingers and I had to ask a few times to make sure all my nails were even. ----- Very nice, relaxing salon. I've gotten "dip" manicures here twice, once by Tina and once by another lady. Both times were good. I made the mistake of going somewhere else in between and regretted it so much I soaked my nails off 2 days later. The owner Smily takes pride in his business, which I appreciate, and wants everyone to have a wonderful experience. My 6 year old daughter has also gotten manicures and somehow they last forever!! Hard to do on those little hands. I haven't gotten a pedicure here, but will be doing that next.

Bubbly/messy nail polish and terrible cuticles

Worst manicure I've ever gotten. They squeezed me in although being busy and rushed through my service. The nail polish is blotchy/bubbly, my cuticles are terrible...just overall a terrible job. Told the nail tech they looked absolutely terrible and she did not make me pay/told me to come back at another time and she would redo them so that is the reason for my 2 stars. However there are plenty of nail places that do an amazing job the first time around. This is only my 2nd time coming here and definitely will not be coming back and will not recommend it.

I have never been to Linda before, so I sent her pictures of my hair (to see the length), and when we spoke on the phone I told her I had previously dyed my hair with product from Sally's in December. I have gotten a perm on long dyed hair before, and two different solutions were used on my hair, one for the virgin roots and one for the dyed ends. Linda told me the product she uses is for treated and untreated hair and that it shouldn't be a problem. The only stipulation I told her before coming in, was that I did not want to cut off any length. *these are facts, no opinion involved in those statements* When perming my hair, she used a smaller sized rod on my hair. Since my hair is long, she didn't want the weight of my hair to loosen the perm faster. This makes sense, except for the fact that my hair is way too long to put the entire length on just one rod and expect the solution to penetrate deep enough for the ends to curl. I'm not the 'professional' here, so I just trust her judgement. After my entire head is curled, she starts applying the solution to my head, during which she got solution in my eye. Once she was finished she said, "well I went over your entire head twice, so hopefully that'll be enough to curl it". Not exactly inspiring confidence, but again i'm not the 'professional'. She brings me to the sink to wash out the solution and take out the rods. Now at this point in a normal perm you are supposed to apply what is called a neutralizer that helps the hair follicle close (the perm solution opens the follicle to allow it to become curly). Linda did NOT do this to my hair. By the time I got home, my hair was fully dried and I noticed that the ends seemed pretty straight. I assume this is just because she brushed my hair out to trim it, and perms never look good on the first day. I texted Linda to inform her and she told me it was probably the brushing and to wet my hair. I wait 48 hours and then wash my hair. Here's where things take a turn. I send Linda pictures to show her that my ends are still straight, and ask how we can fix this. She calls me and says how she 'does good perms' and 'this never happens'. That's fine, people mess up. I just wanted it fixed. We ended the call with her agreeing to re-perm the bottom half of my head and she is going to call me back when she has an opening for me to come back in. About 20 minutes later, she texts me and just says how it looks like it didn't take because of the color that was on my ends. She is now not only not agreeing to re-perm my hair, but continues to blame me for not being honest about the products I used, and is only willing to cut my hair to "see if it will bounce up". Remember when I said the only thing I didn't want to do was cut my hair? She refused to even give me a partial credit, because "I'm not responsible for something you did at home that compromised your ends". This obviously infuriates me, because I sent her pictures of my hair ahead of time and went out of my way to tell her I dyed my hair around 6 months ago with product from Sally's so she would know going into perming my hair. We end our texting exchange with the screen shot you can see attached to this post. Every text she sent was as unprofessional as this one. She never took an ounce of culpability in the results of my hair, and was rude and dismissive. I spoke to two other hair professionals, both of whom said my ends were perfectly fine, and that she shouldn't have put all of my hair on one rod and instead have done what's called a piggy back technique. The first picture is what my hair looked like wet and dried after Linda permed it. And the second picture is my hair wet and dried after Marilyn re-permed the ends for me. Please note that Marilyn did not remove any color or do anything to my hair because re-perming the ends. As you can see, my ends are in fact NOT compromised as the perm took perfectly and I have the curled hair I should have gotten from Linda in the first place. I only ever asked for HALF of my money back so I could get it fixed. They refused and continued to deny any fault. I will note that the salon owner offered me 3 products to try to help my hair, which I appreciated but it the bare minimum that should have happened.

I had a wonderful Signature Facial and really liked that she doesn't blow the hot steam in your face and then walk away! I always hated that part of a facial so this was so nice. If you're like me and chatty, like going to the hair salon, she adjusts for that as well. I was excited to see that she's on her own now. It's nice to be able to make my appointments online. It's quick easy and you get a reminder. It's especially helpful for those, like me, who forget appointments. She is located inside Bellazza Day Spa on Grove Street in Franklin. Bonus, she's closer to me now. Her new location is nice and quiet and a much more relaxing atmosphere. Her room is inviting as is she. Her facials are amazing. She pays attention to any issues you have with your skin and gives great advice on ways to fix it. When I leave my face is always feeling nice, clean and rejuvenated. I'm always amazed at how bad my skin was before a facial compared to after. She's the one person I've been seeing for facials and the one person I will continue to trust with this face of mine.

I'm not sure what happened but the two men they had working there left leaving just Casey. Four months I went in for my appointment, once completely closed down I had to go next door to the hair salon and ask them if they would take my number and pass it on. After that I'd show up with an appointment and was asked to wait or come back. Stupid me I waited. The next time I arrive she's got one in the pedicure tub and one in the nail station she casually looks at me and said ohhhh Debra I'm going to be late. Absolutely no regard or respect that I had an appointment... I'm what?!! I very nicely told her no and I would not be back. I've found a new salon, after all they are everywhere.. But what really gets me is that I stuck it out with her for over a year when she took over, she had my number not once did she pick up the phone to apologize, say that she valued my business.. Do people even do that anymore? Very, very unprofessional thinking her time was more valuable than mine.
