This was my first time trying this salon. I have a 12-year-old Golden Retriever that I have been bringing to Noni's for over 10 years. Unfortunately, Noni's moved, so I wanted to try a different salon. To start, their booking experience did not work. They asked that next time I go there, to verify my appointment (in a rather snooty tone, like it was my fault), which I did on their app, but it obviously doesn't work. They charge extra for matted fur. I knew that before going in, however, my dog had very little behind his ears (I checked just before bringing him in, as I had read other reviews about upcharging clients), yet they charged me double for that. Their pricing is not accurate either. If you review the site, they have two different prices, one on this page: https://www.perfectlypawsh.com/premium_dog.html, which states premium for 60-79 lbs. dogs at $85, and this page https://www.perfectlypawsh.com/services.html, which states $100 for premium. It's a bit deceptive and or they are not paying attention to their site, which is probably the case, as they also still have their COVID response, which has been over for three years! The topper was that my dog suffered a hematoma just days after I brought him there. Hematomas are caused by excessive head shaking, which may be due to a foreign substance in the ears. I can't directly correlate it with his grooming; however, he was given an ear wash during grooming, and he has never had a bad experience or a hematoma in his life. The vet stated that it's very likely, but we can't confirm it was due to the ear wash. I contacted them twice about how they do their ear wash and what they use, but they never responded. Net, the grooming cost me almost a thousand dollars, including vet bills, and we had to leave our vacation early to take him to the vet. "Let the Buyer Beware!" My wife recently made on online appointment at Perfectly Pawsh for our dog to be groomed. Based on the dog's weight, the website indicated the cost would be $100. I took our dog in and the lady at the desk said it would be a "minimum" of $100. She stated that she could not give me an exact price as there were other factors such as if the dog had fleas or ticks, or if there was matting in her fur. I told her that I had been to a few groomers over the years with our different dogs and each and every one had given me a price. She insisted that should could not. I was not going to leave my dog along with what amounted to a blank check. Furthermore, this is not quite rocket science. She checked behind my dog's ears and said there was matting behind each one. That would be an additional $15 plus $5 for each additional matting found. We were leaving on a trip and I didn't have time to find another groomer, though everything was telling me to run. I left my dog but told the lady that if the final cost was much above $115 I would never be back. My wife later picked up the dog and the charge was for $140. My wife was told that the added $25, above the $115, was because the dog had long hair. The same long hair that was there when I brought the dog in and nothing was said about an upcharge for that long hair. I later read several Yelp reviews which echoed my complaints about upcharges and lack of transparency, if not outright deception regarding not advising me of the long hair upcharge. Some of the Yelp reviews indicated that there could be unknown upcharges for the dog barking, relieving itself, and not standing, As I said above, the unknown number of matted fur could be a surprise, and if a flea is found on the dog it "triggers" an automatic flea bath (unknown upcharge). I almost feel lucky that my charge was "only" 40% above what the cost listed online purported to be, while with at least one review I read the charge was double the expected cost. Additionally, when my wife booked the appointment online, there was no indication that anything but the dog's weight factored into the charge. Furthermore, when I got there they wanted me to have proof of a current rabies vaccination. Maybe not a bad practice, however, the website did not seem to indicate that either. Fortunately, my wife was able to text the rabies certificate to me while I was there or they were going to make me reschedule. The grooming itself was fine. If you don't mind not knowing what the final cost will be this place may work for you. However, the lack of honesty and transparency was not acceptable to me. I am very good at recommending to friends and family good businesses, along with writing five-star reviews when worthy. I hope the extra $40 they got out of me was worth it for them for me to never come back, tell my friends and family not to patronize this place, and have one more one-star review added to their list of others complaining about the same thing. The mistakes that I made: I did not check Yelp or Google reviews; I did not follow my instincts; I trusted what was listed on the Perfectly Pawsh website; I somewhat trusted what I was told by the employee at the desk when checking in. Been going here a while and it's off and on depe6in who's doing what. This last time my dog comes home with a gouge in her ear which turned into a large puss/scab. Somehow they "forgot" to mention the pain the dog was in when that happened. The dog ABSOLUTELY wasn't being quite when it happened .. but I guess it's better to say nothing and collect the payment then cause any issues. It's time to move on from this place. Leaving a review because we're on our third generation of pups to bring them to this salon! My first dog, Stewy (pomchi), was brought to petsmart where they would kennel him all day long for his grooming, at times breaking skin when grooming him. When I found out about perfectly pawsh I was instantly relieved their appts were always less than 1.5-2 hours. They do not kennel your fury loved ones and provide excellent care! (Never once breaking skin for the last 3 dogs and 10 years we've been bringing our dogs here) After Stewy crossed the rainbow bridge after 12 glorious years with us our next dog was a foster senior shih tzu who had already been coming here and she too was always well taken care of until her last days. Now with a 4 month shih tzu perfectly pawsh is not short from what they've delivered over the last decade. I know there are people who are disheartened with the price but for me you pay for your pup to not be kenneled all day and a lot faster service than most grooming salons out there. For us, it's an investment for our dogs to not grow the habit of being anxious at groomers, reduce their stress overall and allows us to continue up keep at home with their nail trimmings because they have such a positive experience at perfectly pawsh. If you have pets that require extra attention and cannot handle being kenneled all day this place should be your go to spot just like our pets! I'm really sad to be writing this review. They actually do a good job on my doggie. However, their service is awful and quite frankly unethical. They called about 15 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment today and asked if we could come in sooner, this is our third time . I explained my husband was already en route. He ended up being about 12 minutes late for the appointment due to a work call. Then had to wait at the front desk for 5 minutes before anyone came out to greet him. They told him since he was 14 minutes late they couldn't do the whole grooming. He pushed back and explained he had been waiting for them at the desk. My husband felt they were very rude to him. When I came to pick up my small 17lb dog, the total was $120! I had paid $75 in August. I questioned why the amount. They came up with that he was 3lbs heavier than August so that was a $10 up charge. Then said that my husband had requested a long haired cut (which he said was never even discussed). Then told me and extra $20 for matting. My dogs hair was not matted I had brushed him the day before. I told her that was very disappointing. I paid the bill without a tip since I felt very slided and clearly taken advantage of because they were upset we were a few minutes late to our appointment. Then as I'm leaving the lady at the front calls me out and asks me if I planned to leave a tip for the groomer! To which I replied no. The cut was fine but left feeling like I got taken advantage of. I brought my dog into Perfectly Pawsh as my regular groomer was booked (usually with tip its around $85-90). I had my dog groomed 6-8 weeks prior. His coat was not too long and I had clipped a few mats out of his tail prior to coming in, I examined him all over before I came in as I saw it was an extra charge for matting. I was quotes $65 for the cut. When I came back it was $120. The groomer said he was "difficult" "squirmed around and nipped at her while grooming" and had "matting" and an extra charge to trim his nails. My dog has been groomed many places over the years and this is only only time I have heard he nipped or was difficult. Usually he gets his anal glands expressed and still I have never heard he has been aggressive! Charging double the quote is insane! A little extra is fine if they haven't been groomed in a while but twice the quote on a recently groomed small dog? Just bump up your prices- don't quote low and come in double. I read a sign that said that you can get charged for among other things - excessive barking, excessive movement while grooming, your dog pooping....I I mean, isn't this a dog grooming place? It's not The Hilton. It's not even the money- if they had said it would be $100 and charged an extra amount for an extra service and it came out to $120 that would be ok, it's just insane to come back and hear double for literally the same service you get anywhere else for the stated amount. read more

Updated review. I used to think Perfectly Pawsh was a GREAT place to take our dogs for grooming. Read my review from 5 years ago. Now they've added a bunch of additional charges for things like my dog "sitting" while being groomed. It seems what used to cost me about $100 for my Golden Retriever now costs $140 or more. I understand price's going up. But many of the additional charges seem more like nickel and dime-ing. We now mostly go to a place in Benicia. They took advantage of us bringing her small Pomeranian in here. I am very displeased to see Max had not been cleaned up before you gave him to me after paying for 60.00 for a bath. I saw when I took his dog bed out of the car that he had shit smeared all over his back area,  (see photos attached) It's obvious that it was there before he got in the car as there was no large amount of poop in his dog bed. I am glad I did not give the the Groomer (Gramham) the 20.00 tip as he couldn't take 2 minutes to walk out so I could thank him for grooming Max.  I will never bring Max or recommend your place of business in the future.   It you job to make sure before you give a animals back as cleaned that they truly are cleaned. Shame on you.  Regards to owner reply: Max went to the bathroom before bringing him to your place of business and there was no diarrhea at all. If you want a reliable, honest and on time groomer don't come here. We've brought our dog a few times and on each visit we were given a totally incorrect estimate of the pickup time. They made us wait extra time (more than an hour beyond their estimate) and then when our pickup window butted up against our work commitments, PP staff attempted to charge us for being late to pick up. On another occasion we had family emergency and had to get the dog early. When we attempted to reschedule to have the grooming completed, they were dishonest in telling us they had completed parts of grooming (teeth brushing and nail trimming) that were clearly not done. read more

I cannot thank Perfectly Pawish enough! After our third visit here I had to leave a review. We had 3 other locations tell us they couldn't handle my female Great Dane. She's sweet but hates water and will not even let me touch her paws. Each time she is fully bathed, nails, ears and glands done. She is happy and smells amazing!!! I always feel anxious bringing her there because I was turned away so many times. But here, they know what they are doing and put care and love into it. I came here on the advice of a friend, and thought they did a great job with my dog: she got her nails done, her fur looked great, and they got rid of some small mattes that had developed on a small section of her fur (save one chunk which they missed). But they do need to fix their processes and/or invoicing so that what they plan to charge you shows up *beforehand*. And most of the negative reviews here are because people were "surprised" by the bill. So let's say you booked a "refresher" (bath), and your dog gets there and they determine that they need to use a de-shedding shampoo in order to groom her properly. And you explain the matting, and ask that they take a look at that. They need to add these items to the invoice as line items, tell you there is a weight adjustment and add that, and then either show you onscreen, print, or email you an updated estimate/invoice, as this is the total they will be charging for today *based on your dog's needs*. At this point you can either agree to it and get your dog taken care of, or opt out. I think most people would still want to just complete the process, but the whole thing would feel better because they were agreeing to it beforehand based on the groomer's expertise vs. being surprised by a bill they weren't expecting. A few would opt out, but that's fine because the business will avoid the clients who expect a lot for very little, and it would add a breather to their schedule because they seem to run behind anyway. read more

I tried to contact Perfectly Pawsh via email, in November, after my appointment, to avoid this review but I received no response. Instead, I got a phone call this week (several weeks later) asking if I wanted to book another appointment with no reference to my email. Below is the email I wrote to them. I wholeheartedly believe this establishment takes advantage of its customers and should be avoided at all costs. I just returned from your establishment with my dog, and I felt compelled to share some concerns regarding my experience. To begin, I was disappointed with the communication from your staff. Initially, I was told that the grooming would take approximately two hours. However, I received a call after just 90 minutes, instructing me to pick up my dog within the next 30 minutes to avoid additional charges. Given that I was working and located a considerable 25 minutes away from your location, I had to scurry to get to get to her in time. Moreover, when I dropped off my dog for her appointment, I was informed of an additional $15 fee for nail trimming. Your website indicated a base price of $65 for a dog of her size, so I expected to pay around $80, plus or minus a few dollars, plus a tip. To my surprise, when I arrived to collect her, I was presented with a bill totaling $135. This was explained as being due to shaving for matting, a detail that I believe should have been disclosed prior to my dog's grooming. I would like to highlight that I've never had my dog groomed in under two hours, so the claim of "extra time" seems somewhat questionable. Additionally, it was my understanding that my dog was shaved from the outset, which should have prevented extensive matting. Feeling misled in this regard left me quite dissatisfied with the service. Furthermore and most disturbing, when my dog emerged from her grooming session, she appeared to be coughing and extremely thirsty. I couldn't help but wonder if she had been offered water during her time at your facility. This raised concerns about her well-being. Upon reading reviews on Yelp, I discovered that several other customers have expressed similar experiences, which raises questions about transparency and fairness in your pricing structure. A business built on nickel-and-diming its customers struggles to foster trust and encourage return patronage. I believe that clear and honest communication, along with a fair and transparent pricing policy, are essential elements of a reputable grooming service. We've been taking our dog here about 3 years. The initial appeal for us was being cage-free and 1 hr or less grooming appointments, because our dog is very anxious. They are no longer cage free and no longer on time, and they will nickel and dime you like crazy. There is a long list of potential extra charges on their window, which we've fortunately avoided but it's really ridiculous. Its a dog grooming business, poop happens! If anything, set your base prices higher to account for occasional mishaps, instead of causing so much conflict with customers. The extra fee that frustrates me the most is that it is an extra $15 on top of the $65 premium groom for unscented shampoo. Our dog has skin allergies, but I can't bring myself to pay $15 for a squirt of unscented shampoo! Hypoallergenic dog shampoo is not that much more expensive, even wholesale! The other large sign posted says "we will not tolerate aggressive behavior, and we don't mean the animals." If they have so many unhappy customers they have to post signs to tell them to "behave" there is clearly a big customer service problem. The overall feel I get there nowadays is very defensive and unfriendly. In addition, online booking availability is never actually available, and they will call you to change the time, every time. Our last appointment, they called and asked to change it from 11 am to 10:15 am. Totally no problem for me schedule-wise, but on the day of the appointment they called me as I was heading out to bring the dog, saying I was late, the appointment was at 10 am and they had to reschedule for a week later. Fine, mistakes and miscommunication happens, but apologies are nice when they do, and I certainly got none. Our dog has never been harmed there that we know of, and they do a great job with the groom, although he sheds like crazy on the ride home so I don't think they use a de-shedding brush (or any brush?). I am also a little worried all that negative energy freaks our nervous dog out further, but that is speculation. It's just the "customers are the enemy" approach (and the obsession with fees for every little thing, and not being cage-free or quick anymore) that has soured me on them, and I think it's time to move on. It's hard to run a small business and people can be jerks, but they aren't all jerks, and a little graciousness can go a long way. read more

They leave on hold for a long time and when I attempted to schedule an appointment and left my number they never returned my call or tried to reach me. I've had good service in the past with them however the last 3 times it has not been worth the hassle. They offer online scheduling but will always call and change the time of your appointment, sometimes without your approval. My dog has come out before without her ears being cleaned, her anal glands not being taken care of and most recently today without all 4 of her paws nails being trimmed. Their select service offers a lot of things but my dog is almost always done in 20-25 minutes and I just don't know how they're getting "all" of these things done in that short amount of time. Today she was allegedly biting and aggressive this was the first time this has happened and they were unable to finish the service (none of this was mentioned when they called) only when I picked her up and was charged a $20 fee for her being difficult. When they brought her out on a slip leash, it was choking her and it took me telling the staff member 2 times to let her go because the leash was choking her (I had her under control and was trying to get her harness on). Now I'm left with a half groomed dog and have to take her elsewhere to have her nails finished. read more

We found Perfectly Pawsh online and I'm thankful they were open during Shelter In Place! I originally booked online, and they called about an hour later to confirm some things about Cici, our 10 month old Goldendoodle (such as age, weight, fur type). We didn't request any groomer, but I'm glad we got Graham! Cici's fur isn't the easiest to cut evenly (her fur is much straighter than average doodle) and Graham did a wonderful job! We are especially impressed with how even her legs are, and how much fur he got between the pads. Whatever shampoo they use smells amazing, too. We definitely have found our new groomer! Lastly, thank you Perfectly Pawsh for being flexible! Our appointment was May 1st, and the only card I brought expired 4/2020 (didn't grab my purse - just a card+ ID) - oops! We've been bringing our dogs here every other week since the beginning of 2021. This place used to communicate and send emails or texts to confirm appointments. Out of no where that stopped. Now, they just call the day before as a reminder, which is sneaky and pointless since by that time it's too late to cancel with 24 hours to avoid their "fee." Today, their employee called to remind us of our appointment for tomorrow. When we called back to say we needed to reschedule, we were told that we were going to be charged $25 for canceling. I explained that we bring our dogs in every two weeks, she didn't care. So now, we will not be bringing our two dogs to Perfectly Pawsh again! Decent quality of cuts, but I've come here 5 times and each and every time, they've found something to add to the cost of the groom. I understand charging for a lot of matting, but just today they upcharged me $20. The last time I booked a service online and wasn't told until I picked my dog up that the level of service I booked is no longer available so I paid $75 for a bath and nail trim for a chihuahua. Then, they stopped including nail trims in the grooming price (now changed but who does that?) They're communication is poor in the salon and I've never felt good leaving. I really wanted to like this place due to proximity and the cute storefront. Unfortunately, this business had multiple opportunities to do a good job for us but didn't. The biggest issue was the groomer cut my dog and either hid it from us or didn't even realize my dog had been bleeding. Either way, that's not ok. When I saw the cut later that day, I left a message and asked for a call back from the Manager. No one called. I waited and finally called them after 2pm the next day. The manager said she had been 'too busy'. I was feeling patient, so instead of getting upset, I calmly explained the importance of showing respect and concern for dogs by returning calls when an owner thinks a dog was injured in the shop's care. (Geez!) The manager then apologized but refused to take any responsibility for the cut. This was terrible customer service. My other issue with this shop is being overcharged by $15 for oatmeal shampoo (something that is free at most groomers). They did not use the bottle of oatmeal shampoo we bought from their shop specifically for them to use. Instead, they used another shampoo and charged us a fee. They blamed us for not being clear about our request. I understand mistakes and miscommunications can occur. How a manager handles those will make or break the business. This shop failed to makeup for service problems and left us with a bad impression. read more

Late review, my dog was groomed here two times. The first time she got a decent groom, nothing special, no problems. The second time I came to get her once they called me to pick her up and the grooming assistant brought her out to me with fresh blood on his hands. He told me she had a cut and it was fine and didn't need medical attention. He said this happens at times and minimized the significance of a freshly bleeding, gaping skin wound. I was understandably upset. I asked why I wasn't called to be informed that she was cut and he replied that he was following their policy. I asked to speak to the manager, he stated the the groomer was the manager and also the owner. He then went on to inform me that they didn't charge me extra to remove some matted fur (nor did they charge less for removing 1" of skin, full thickness laceration). I paid for my full price groom and left. I'm a veterinarian. I had to take her to my work (30 minutes away) to deal with the laceration. This laceration repair would have cost another person/client $300-$500 dollars. Save yourself and your pet the pain/expense. Find another groomer. read more

This place is FANTASTIC!!! They groomed my dog earlier today and I could not have been more satisfied with the results. Their priceing is straightforward, and very reasonable, the facility is clean, but most importantly, the groomer has a "dog whisperers" personality. Prior to scheduling the appointment, I was concerned about the number of less - than - steller reviews to the extent that I visited the facility before booking anything. Came here a total of 3 times. The first time they trimmed my dogs face and paws and charged me $95. The second time they actually did what I asked and was satisfactory. The third time they told me his hair was matted all over even though you could comb through it with a brush, they gave him a bath and trimmed nothing and charged me $120. And for what?! They charged me a "long hair fee " even though they refused to trim his hair like I wanted to. Do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere because this place likes to tack on fee on top of fee for minimal to no work. read more

Horrible customer service. Been a consistent customer for years, was very happy with the service, even tipped $100 for Christmas in 2020. First appointment since then, due to construction in my neighborhood that happens periodically, traffic was really bad and I knew I would be late even though I always leave early to make appointments. I called and said I would be 10-15 minutes late. I rushed around to make it there in that time frame and showed up less than 15 minutes late. Upon someone greeting me at the door I was informed that they cancelled my appointment. Just rude and not knowing when to not piss off a customer when he is already having a bad day. read more
