Prefacing this review in an entirely different direction and this is for a good reason. Last month, we had to take our mini cooper to a dealership located in Fife. It was the most stressful, absolutely awful experience that my husband and I have ever had. After 3 weeks of trying to get our car fixed, finally we got it back. That review will be coming and it's a doozy. Fast forward to the our current status. Last week, we had to take our Dodge Ram 1500 for repairs. After the last experience of a car repair we were so leery on where to take this. So I went on yelp and was hopeful that we could find a good repair shop. I saw Yire Automotive had reviews, not many, but that they 5 stars on every rating except for one. Hmmm..I'm thinking, that's just too good to be true. I looked at their site, I once again read the reviews, then I called them. The person who answered, Walter, was welcoming, listened to what I needed and said sure bring it in today. Well my husband had the truck, but I made an appointment for the next day. To put this all in a nutshell, the truck went in, Walter was just as friendly as he is in person as he was on the phone. There is no fancy office in place, but it's decent and Walter has all kinds of info on the wall about his certificates and what's in place. I asked him to call my husband because I don't understand crap when it comes to auto repairs. He was in constant contact with my husband, not only looked at what the issue was but recommended a few other things, sent pictures about this, that were important indeed, that should be repaired but he left this up to us. He didn't push, he didn't come on strong, he simply recommended. Suffice it to say, our truck was ready in two days. It is running beautifully. I have another repair that he will be handling, hopefully soon (well as soon as I call him) and I am sure that he and his people will take care of us again, just as well. It's extremely reassuring to have a place where you can take your vehicle and know that you will not get ripped off and where you will get good service. Now the reason I prefaced this review is to show how one place can be really bad for repairs and another isn't. Period. My son took his Mazda to Yire and had a wire replaced when a rodent had chewed through it. When I needed service on my Audi and my regular place couldn't fit me I brought it to Yire. It ended up being a pretty expensive repair and it was completed in a few days. When I got the car back the engine light came back on a couple days later and I brought it back. Walter completed another 2 days of service on car, checking everything and replacing parts at no additional charge. The car has been working great since with no problems. Loved that they weren't too busy. My fiat 500 wouldn't start all of a sudden, and I called that same day, and got my car in that day as well. Every other place around was booked weeks out. I was really surprised how well they kept me updated. Great communication, great service. They called to tell me what they need to do, what the possible problems can be, and how much and how long it would take. They got it done that same day. Super nice guys, and lovely front desk person. Yire took excellent care of a brake issue in our 2010 Ford Edge in January, and all is still good. They went to great lengths to see if the repair could possibly be under a previous recall -even though that meant that they would not be able to do the repair (we would have had to take the car to a dealership). Our VIN number was not in the recall window, so Yire did the work. Despite the snow, and consequent delays for parts arrival, they met all the time targets they gave us and kept us informed along the way. They are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and altogether a great team to work with. We can recommend them highly. read more

Bait and switch - Called to get pricing on an oil change, cabin air filter, engine air filter, and tire rotation. Walter asked the year and make of my vehicle and how many miles, which I provided. I even gave him the type of oil my vehicle takes. He quoted me $120 for the oil change, $30 for the filters and $45 for the tire rotation. We set a date and when I arrived, he quickly asked for my keys. I asked for a written estimate and when he came back, all of the pricing had changed. I reminded him of our conversation and even though he admitted he was wrong, he would not honor what he quoted. The new quote was over $300 and he was unwilling to do what was right. Imagine if I had not requested it in writing.......Sorry, I can't trust a business who doesn't honor their word! read more

My new (to me) 2010 Lexus RX350 smelled like oil was burning. On Monday I turned to Yelp to find a repair shop, in hopes of finding a place to fix it and one we will be able to use for future repairs. Yire Automotive Care had 5 star reviews and the testimonials were very encouraging. I phoned asking them if they work on Lexus. I spoke with Walter, the shop owner. The first question he asked was "what's going on with it?" and off the top of his head said there are a couple of things that are common with this type of make and model to check out. He checked the schedule; we were able to get it in Wednesday morning. He called by midday on Wed to say it was not a leaking valve cover, as he suspected, but a leaking transfer case seal. We had also asked him to verify if the oil pressure hose had been changed out and knew we would need it replaced if it hadn't already been done, and sure enough, it hadn't. And we also knew that was an expensive part and difficult to remove and replace (we'd seen several YouTube videos on it.) He told us the price over the phone. Walter said he could order the part, and if it got there in the morning, he could get it done. We agreed, and at end of the day Thursday he called to say the car was done. He said we could get it then or in the morning. We picked it up this morning, and Walter showed us the parts that were removed. We are confident the car was repaired correctly, and they guarantee their work. I am VERY pleased with the way the shop is run, and scheduling went according to plan. read more

These guys are great. I brought them my 1988 Mitsubishi Montero with a custom engine rebuild - which some garages won't even look at - and they didn't think twice about it. I recently had my car repaired at Yire Automotive, I was impressed from the start with how well Walter runs this business. After I was referred to Yire from a buddy of mine I called after hours and left a message expressing interest in bringing my Toyota in to be serviced and I stated that the car was running very rough at idle and also that when I had the timing belt replaced at the dealership they told me I needed to replace the thermostat. The next day at 9am Walter called me and urged me to bring the car in. I brought the car in that afternoon. The next morning Walter called me and said that he could not find anything wrong with my car other than the thermostat but he said I should come by and drive it with him to show him what I described. So I came in and together we drove around town for 15 minutes until I was able to point out what the car was doing. Before we even got back to the shop he pointed out what he thought needed to be fixed. I was very impressed with Walter's automotive knowledge and especially at the level of customer service I recieved, I have had good and bad experiences at well over 20 different automotive shops from Seattle to Tacoma and this is hands down the best experience I have ever had at any of them. To top it off I ended up paying nearly $150 less than what Renton Toyota had quoted me and they were only going to replace the thermostat. Walter has definitely earned my business. read more

I called on Friday, 6-18-21 to schedule service on my Toyota Camry. I asked if I could bring it in on Thursday, 6-24-21 first thing in the morning. The gentleman who I spoke with said yes and that if I brought it in before they opened that I could drop my keys in the lock box. I told him that I needed the car no later than 12:00 noon. He said that the job (replace the starter) would only take 2 hours and that it would be ready by 12:00 noon. I brought it in and dropped it off at 8:15 am. I took the bus downtown to my job interview and then came back at 12:20 pm to pick up my car. They hadn't even started on it! No apology from the person in charge. Nothing. A phone call would have been nice. I scheduled a week in advance and they assured me it would be done by noon. I am reliant on King County Metro if I don't have my car and cannot make my appointments in a timely manner with it. I'm wondering if I should give them another try? This is an excellent repair shop! You could not go wrong taking your vehicle to Yire. I know, I have been using Yire for repair of my two diesel Jeep Liberties for the last two years. Most recently yire performed a 100,000 mile service replacement of a timing belt and water pump (a major and expensive required service). Walter, the owner went over every replacement part with me after going to great effort to obtain all parts from Chrysler. He was incredibly thorough and organized in this project. Price was very reasonable (I had obtained bids for this job from two Chrysler dealerships) and the job was done on time, Honesty, integrity, friendliness, are all five star. Mike A. I was having a hard time with my 2001 Ranger pickup, I had the heads rebuilt and when I went to reassemble and start the truck it wouldn't start. I was using a Chilton Manuel for a little help,we'll come to find out the diagram of the spark plug wires on the coil was wrong and it backfiring making all kinds of noise. After 3 weeks of banging my head against the wall I had it towed to Horizon Ford in Tukwila they told it had jumped timing , they didn't see that the plug wires were wrong on coil . So I had it towed home and swapped out the timing gears and chain reassembled again still no start. To make a long story short I had it towed to YIRE AUTOMOTIVE they gave me back a running driving truck again and told me about the plug wires were wrong on the coil pack. It was just that simple. I will go back there again for service .I think I'm going to burn that Chilton manuel. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT WORK. read more
