Got a flat tire in my driveway after backing up over a metal chockblock. Jon's towing was onsite within the hour. Changed to a spare and provide some good consultation regarding the tire gear I had on hand. Later took my 2 horse trailer in to them to have the annual maintenance completed. My friend hit a deer on his motorcycle, and the bike slid on it's left side. The Missouri Highway Patrol contacted "John's Towing", which is this company's new name to tow the bike. When I arrived to pick up the bike it was laying on it's right side in the gravel parking lot, where they had dumped it the night before. "Well, the sidestand must be ripped off" I say. Nope. "Flat tires, it won't stand up with two flat tires". Nope. I stood it up, leaned it on the sidestand, and saw the damaged exhaust, clutch cover, and bodywork - all from the bike being flopped on it's side in gravel. "We drug it. It's stuck in gear." "Click, click, click." It shifted into neutral fine and I rolled it to my trailer. What wasn't damaged in the accident was finished off by the "professionals" who towed it. What would have been a big - but repairable - insurance claim became a total loss after the thousands of dollars worth of damage done by these unprofessional troglodytes. Boo. read more

Had a problem with one of his tow drivers. I was stuck in mud. While him and one of his buddies were trying to figure out how they were going to get the truck in, I continued to try to get the car in a better position . The old fat driver came down and started yelling at me. I told him to quit f**king yelling at me. He said F**k you and told his partner to wrap it up they were leaving. I demanded his name which he refused to give to me several times. I followed him up to his truck to get the company name and number off his truck. At that point he told me to get away from his truck and threatened to punch me out. Extremely unprofessional. I called the company up the next day and asked for John Wilson the owner. I was told he wasn't there. I left a message for him to call me with someone who sounded like the driver I encountered. I don't know if the guy never gave him the message or if the owner just didn't care to call. Either way, this is an unprofessional establishment. I would fire that driver. But with business practices like this, it will do in the business sooner or later. Karma always wins. I suggest to really think hard before you use this company for any service. read more

On Friday, June 23rd, we contacted AAA to schedule a tow for our RV for Sunday June 25th due to a issue with my husband's vehicle. We explain that we would be camping until 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. They contracted John's towing who said he would be here to pick up our vehicle between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. When Sunday arrive my husband received a call at 9:25 a.m. from the tow truck driver who stated that he would need $500 paid up front. My husband explain that we were using AAA premier RV service and we were covered. He stated that he charges $250 per hour to tow and we are not charged for mileage. My husband then explain that is great because we are only going 43 mi and it should not take an hour Plus we are covered by AAA up to $500. At that point, the tow truck driver told us that we should call AAA then and hung up on my husband. When I approached my husband he was visibly upset and we called AAA back and explained the situation. They say that they will contact John and and try to explain the terms to this business. We waited an hour and packed up our RV for the arrival of a tow truck driver and when we called back AAA explained that they had reached out to John's towing multiple times and no one was answering the calls. AAA was then able to reach out to another tow truck driver reschedule us. This was a great inconvenience to us because we we're on a tight schedule and I feel like this driver was extorting money from people who were in a desperate situation. We had a flat tire and the insurance company said Johns towing was on the way. Two hours later we were still waiting and I called them back. They gave me the number to call the tow truck company directly. John answered the phone and said he never got a call from my insurance company and told me it would be another hour then hung up on me. I called him back and asked him if were both in the Pacific area why is it going to take you an hour to get here? He yells I only have one driver and hangs up on me again. The guys a jerk and I will never do business with them. I will be calling AAA in the morning telling them how unhappy I was with everything. Three hours wait for a nine mile tow is unacceptable. read more

Two idiots pulled up to my house after telling me on the phone the job will cost $100. He shows up and says, "That will be $125-135." I say, "which one? You don't know in advance?" Easily the poorest excuse for a towing company I've ever experienced, and I've now experienced it twice. This outfit is completely incompetent; in fact, "incompetent" is the best thing I can say about them. Unless your car is a lightweight subcompact and you are able to bring it to them and meet their truck on a flat parking lot (yes, as ludicrous as it sounds, you read that correctly - they expected me to bring my car to meet their truck), don't waste your time with these lousy buffoons. Oh, and to make their blistering incompetence even worse, they're rude and appear to be functionally illiterate too. On two separate occasions, several months apart, my insurance company dispatched this so-called towing company, and both times the chimpanzees that drive their trucks were unable to tow my car. Both times I had to call my insurer back and have them dispatch a real towing company instead, and both times the second towing company had no trouble whatsoever finishing the job that this pitiful outfit couldn't. I had my vehicle towed today by Sturm Towing in Washington, MO. Their driver was pleasant and had my car loaded-up in less time than it took for the John's Towing chimpanzee to tell me he couldn't do it. Save yourself some aggravation and time by calling a real towing company instead of this freakshow of pitiful incompetence. read more
