I can't recommend this place enough. I brought my jeep in from another shop for a second opinion about replacing the engine. Originally I was bringing it to this place because they quoted me a lower price for replacing the engine then the other shop. Over the phone, Joe explained my options for replacing it, the costs, and the warranties. He also thought the other shops diagnosis sounded kind of off. He took a look and found my negligence in maintaining the plugs. A full tune up later I drove out the door and have not had a problem since. This shop could have raked me over the coals like the previous shop I went to was trying, but they are honest business people, and I am finding that rare in the auto-repair business. I now bring both my cars here for regular maintenance, tire replacement and any if any other problems arise, this will be the place I go. Joe always give me options and beats the other price quotes I use to get (now I just take it here without thinking twice). Honest, professional, courteous, what more could you want! I can't say enough about this place, five stars isn't enough. Also, don't be fooled by other shops with high ratings. The other shop I went to had many 5 star ratings, that's why I went to them, but they either did not know anything about repairing cars or they could have charged me 5200.00 for a tune up. My 94 Jeep engine blew up. Only 205,522 miles on it. I've maintained the oil changes on a regular basis but it never needed any other work done on it, so I didn't even know where to have it towed. When I arrived to interview them, before having the car towed there, a customer came walking out and I asked her how she liked their service. She said, "Oh I wouldn't take my car anywhere else." That cinched it. The biggest surprise when I got there was, how clean and organized their shop is. The mechanic was happily singing while he was working. It's ironic because I came to this place based on the reviews, but fortunately for me I'm far from naive when it comes to automotive repair. My service here began close to 9 months ago for an oil change and AC service. I don't live in the area but I have family here that I visit somewhat frequently so stopped into Joe's shop while I was in the area. 4 visits later my AC still doesn't work and finally diagnosed the compressor needed replacing. I've been extremely patient throughout this process and on the last visit I had to voice my frustration as I don't have the time to make repeat visits out here. I wanted to give Joe the opportunity to try and make up for the repeated visits..... and what do I get? AN OUTRAGEOUS QUOTE for the job. I understand business and profits but triple the cost of the part on top of $500 in labor is not an ETHICAL business practice. If you're not educated on what fair price is for parts and labor I highly suggest you visit here with discretion. Giving credit where it's due... Joe is a nice guy and the oil change was a fair and decent price, which is the only reason for a 2 star rating. It's so frusterating as a woman who knows nothing about cars to have to go and get it repaired when something goes wrong. I just know wherever I take it they're bound to take advantage of that fact and charge me an arm and a leg for some bogus repairs. I had to face this recently when my breaks started acting up. I live in Lafayette, but after two bad break jobs (including one from the dealer) I was finally steered towards this place. I hesitated because its a bit far for me all the way in Pleasanton. I thought for sure they're had to be someone closer that I could go to. I finally bit the bullet after being told by a THIRD mechanic that it was going to cost me another $700 to fix my "already repaired" breaks. After about 20 minutes Joe had diagnosed my car, charged significantly less than $700 and sent me on my merry way. My breaks worked great after that and now I make the 30 minute drive to Joe EVERY time I need car repairs.
