Highly recommend this place. The dealership was trying to charge me a ridiculous amount to get some work done on my BMW. Once I brought my car here they were able to fix it in a timely manner for half the cost of what the dealership was trying to charge. The staff here is fantastic! It is truly hard to find a place of business that you can trust wholeheartedly these days. That said, I've been a loyal customer with Performance Motor Works for well over a decade now. I will not trust my well kept 20 year old 540i to any other establishment. In my most recent visit my 540 had a recurring issue with the rear window. My wife reminded me that we might still be under warranty. Sure enough, when I checked in at PMW, they immediately told me that it will be replaced under a warranty!! Let me start by saying I have trust issues and I don't want just anyone poking around my car. But after repeated pop-ups on Facebook, I decided to give these guys a call. I am a BMW enthusiast and do much of my own work. But every so often, you need next-level help. Dan and his team stepped up and did just that. I had a serious of bad alignments done from a garbage tire shop whose name rhymes with Tirestone. It was so bad that the car was throwing multiple error codes so I needed help. Dan had a partner shop handle the alignment and his team inspected, cleared codes, and tested it to make sure nothing else was wrong. I also had them do some other minor work since they were there. This wasn't an overly complex job, but it was a great opportunity for me to find someone I can trust. Dan clearly cares about his customers and charges very fair prices. He's very patient with his customers and explains thing very well. He knows I like working on my car, so he even identified a few minor things I may want to work on in my garage (instead of trying to gouge me for it). Hats off to these guys! I was selling my 2007 Mini Cooper (5-speed manual) and the buyer was really pushy insisting that the clutch is bad. So I agreed to replace the clutch at my cost. Took it in here, two different mechanics drove the car and confirmed the clutch is in excellent condition with no issues. They even said, "we would love to do the job, but it would be dishonest." I thought I hit a brick on the way to work one day and there was oil all over the undercarriage of my car. Fearing the worst, I had my car towed to Performance Motor Works. Because I was still at work, I wasn't present for the drop of. The communication about my car was quite good and I was updated on it when it was dropped off and at least once a day while it was in the shop. Turns out I had driven over a quart of oil...but PMW had still taken everything apart just to make sure. They also steam cleaned the whole bottom of the car and returned it in great condition. I would highly recommend this place for any BMW that is out of warranty. read more

I was a first time customer of Performance Motors and had confidence bringing my vehicle here for service based on all of the positive reviews. I have a high mileage VW that was in need of significant maintenance. The initial estimate of the services my vehicle needed seemed fair and reasonable so I approved the majority of the recommended services. However, due to an existing subframe issue my vehicle had they were unable to complete all of the approved services. After speaking with the Advisor I had been working with I still was not satisfied with the explanation but was content to finally get my car back. Once it was time to pick up my vehicle there was a miscommunication with the Advisor and my vehicle had been left in the shop so I was unable to retrieve it as planned. I called the shop and left a message then immediately recieved a call back from Dan, the owner. Dan went out of his way to make things right and took ownership of the situation. My car was misfiring so I took it to a shop and had the spark plugs replaced. The car was still misfiring so I took it to Performance Motorworks instead, where I was having some other work done. They spent hours diagnosing the misfire and could not find anything wrong. They did not charge me for the diagnostic on the misfire since they could not fix the issue at the time. I drove the car and got it to generate some error codes and took the car back to them. They still could not find anything technically wrong with the vehicle. But, they had an informed hunch that the new spark plugs that were put in the car may be the issue. They replaced the new spark plugs with a different OEM brand and that fixed the issue! When I went to pick up the car and pay for the work, they said that they had already contacted the other shop and were working it out. I did not need to pay anything. This business knows how to treat customers. They are always very informative on what they are doing. They always treat you fairly. They go above and beyond in customer service. More businesses need to take note and step up their game. I am and will be a repeat customer. read more

Maybe I'll get some attention if I post this review. Though doubt I would ever go back. Anyway, I was looking for a local place to have my Mini serviced and do some performance enhancements. My initial experience was great! I dealt mostly with Joel who is a great kid and you can tell really likes his job and the owners. I upgraded some brake pads and thought this was a fair test to see if they stuck to their estimate and that they were "legit". I was very happy and thought I had found my shop. My second experience, however, has been a lesson in total frustration and lack of response. I called and spoke to Dave on a Wednesday morning to schedule another engine modification. Afterward I realized I hadn't asked for an estimate like I had requested the first time. So, I called back. Since I had purchased the parts to be installed myself, he asked that I send him the information so he could properly estimate the installation. I emailed him the link to the parts as soon as we hung up. Two days later that Friday I called and spoke to Joel and told him I hadn't heard anything from Dave, no reply to my email or anything. Joel said someone would get back to me by the end of the day. No communication. So, the long weekend comes and goes and I don't bring the car in to do the installation on that followingTuesday since I didn't get an estimate or any call at all. I call and speak to Joel again who apologized and said he would tell Dave. Still no communication. Guys, if you can't do my installation, then tell me. I'll go somewhere else. I took my BMW to Performance Motor Works for the first time recently, and they were great! The BMW dealership had quotes me $15,000 to fix a leak in the engine. Of course I wanted a second option. Performance Motor Works said that there was no leak in the engine, but that I did have a leak in my transmission. The cost to fix was substantially less than the $15K BMW quoted me. Top notch quality auto service facility , Dan the parts and service director is almost an encyclopedia of knowledge and is always willing to take his time and describe to you the details/components of what service your car needs and why.
