Love that I found this place, Took my wife M850ix for service and brakes. super knowledgeable staff, no up sale, just facts And experienced mechanics, will be a regular customer for sure.

The cheap AC Delco Battery installed.

Overall, Performance Auto Works does good work in my experience going there over the years. However, they massively overcharge for basic services that you can easily do yourself. To do a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) service they charge $120. You can get the fluid at any auto parts store for about $20. It takes 5 minutes to put def fluid into a BMW 328d with gloves. Yesterday, they charged me $206 labor to replace a car battery even though it took them less than 30 minutes to replace the battery with the required re-programming. Their shop hour is $200+ and hour. If you call them on their obvious overcharge they can only give you a credit on your account which you can only use when you visit them again. But it gets worse, the day before, I called to see if they could replace the 4-year free replacement warranty Bosch S6 Battery they had installed 5 years ago. They said yes, we can replace it for $400. They replaced the battery with an AC Delco 49 AGM with a limited 3-year warranty and only 1-year free replacement, and they charged me $517 (not $400) in total for the Battery with installation. The AC Delco battery is $70 less than the Bosch Battery they installed 5-years ago. I can get this cheap AC Delco Battery at the local parts store for $14 less than they charged me. I wanted the Bosch S6 Battery because it is a MUCH better battery and is only available via mail order. I am tired of the overcharging, poor communication and inferior parts they use at Performance Auto Works. I will not be using them again. A cheap AC Delco Battery...freaking unbelievable.

Great service. Communication was great. Martin and Josh were both pleasant and very helpful.

Very efficient and knowledgeable. They always tell me exactly what's needed and my car's performance improves tremendously afterwards.

It's hard to find a good mechanic. The guys at PMW know their stuff and won't steer you wrong. A must if you drive a German car.

Ask the Community - Performance Motor Works

How much to change brake pads on a 2013 porsche and mount & balance 4 tires? I have the parts and tires. Just need labor.

How much is it for coolant fluid and transmission fluid exchange on 2014 BMW 328i?

Coolant flush is $140, transmission is $400 if we are doing fluid only, not the filter.

I have a 2018 mazda6 grand tour front wheels shake when braking, how much to turn the rotors?

Hi. I’m sorry but we work solely on Euro cars.

You mean they didn't add unnecessary BS to my work I had them do?!?! That's F'n unbelievable. What a great experience to have a shop that doesn't try to price gouge you at every turn. No unnecessary add ons. Just honest work at an honest price. Thanks so much for an amazing experience. You guys are my go to from here on out.

I am going to start by saying that I have used Scotty's multiple times in the past twenty years and…read moremostly I have received 5 star service (most notably when my son had a Saturn that had a check engine light and they tried to fix it and when they could not (through no fault of their own) they refunded me all my money and sent me to the dealer. I found them to be very honest and fair pricing (not the cheapest, but quality work). What has prompted me to write this review today is the experience I had with Justin on the phone a couple of days ago. My husband and I recently purchased a 2022 Hyundai Sonata. While looking through the owner's manual we noticed that this car specifically recommends spark plug replacement at 40,000 miles. We just hit that and and not wanting to void our warranty we called to arrange a spark plug replacement. To note, I could have done this myself, but again I don't want to give Hyundai any reason to say the engine failed due to improper maintenance. When I called to inquire about pricing, Justin immediately told me I don't need to change them this early. He then proceeded to tell me that Hyundai just recommends this to get people to spend more money. He told me he used to work for them and it isn't the spark plugs that is the problem with their engines but rather a rod. Look, I appreciate someone trying to save me money, but I also believe that when a car is still under warranty manufacturer recommendations should be followed. I probably would not have written this review except I saw Mary K's review and have to agree that Justin seems to have some kind of bias against Hyundai. I know their GDI engines were not great, but this is a newer model and it has a turbo engine and I was just trying to do what was right for the car. I ended up making the appointment with another trusted mechanic.
