He measured and looked at the arches of my feet, then brought out various shoes to try on. There is an area to run with the shoes and feel how they preform. After I selected my pair, he then showed different colors and I got a 15% discount for belonging to a gym. They have improved in that they no longer call customers insulting names like "shoelover" when I walk in, but they still don't seem to realize they are in direct competition with online choices. Online, my size, 10e, is never a problem. In this store, they seem to operate on some formula for in stock sizes that dates back to the American 1960s. Most of their styles do not have a 10e, they have 10, 10.5 standard width, and 10eee. They say, if I don't see my size, to ask a salesperson, but this results in the sales person looking through the same stack I just looked through (taking a little longer than me) and pronouncing that they don't seem to have my size. Very annoying. I'm going to stick to ordering directly from Allen Edmonds or Kiziks.

For a bike that costs $350 brand new, I was charged over $200 for a new rear tire, chain, and miscellaneous items. To make it worse, I paid an extra $30 for a "lifetime membership" because they promised it would give me reduced rates. Instead, my bill somehow jumped from a quoted $160 to $202. The math makes absolutely no sense. But the worst part is the complete lack of basic safety quality control. When I finally got the bike home, I realized the front brakes were completely unattached and just hanging there. This is a massive safety hazard. They kept my bike for days, charged me hundreds of dollars, and ultimately handed me back a bike that wasn't even safe to ride. Now I have to waste my own time and gas to go back and get them to finish the job. Take your bike somewhere else where they actually care about mechanical safety and honest pricing.

We placed the order through Macy's and it was fulfilled by this Florsheim facility in Glendale, Wisconsin. The shoes cost $110 plus $9.79 in sales tax, so $119.79. Standard shipping was free. The shoes arrived in less than a week. As soon as I unboxed them, we were both immediately impressed with the look of the shoes. They looked just as good in person as they did in the professional pictures on the website. However, we all know the true test is the fit. I've returned or exchanged numerous shoes over the years because, while the shoes looked great, they did not fit great. To my delight, these shoes fit well on the first try. I was pleasantly surprised and happy. I used the "True Fit" feature on Macy's website -- I entered in info about a couple shoes I already owned (brand and size) and the True Fit feature recommended what size I should order these particular shoes in. It worked. If you see True Fit while shopping for shoes online, I highly recommend taking advantage of it. It can save you time and hassle later. The lacing was uneven on one of the shoes so that was annoying. Out of the box, the shoes came with the standard and common criss-cross lacing style, but my wife changed them to the neater and cleaner-looking straight bar lacing style. The shoes look perfect. They fit well and are comfortable too with Memory Foam insoles. These aren't my first pair of Florsheims, but they are the first in a long time. They knocked it out of the park with this order.

I made sure that I was home for my delivery. No delivery was even attempted by UPS. They transferred my delivery to the USPS (United States Postal Service) and no tracking numbers or operators that I've called can tell me where my package is or where I can pick it up. Obviously, I won't be sitting at home all weekend for an unscheduled "second" delivery attempt--when the first delivery wasn't even attempted. Very poor form.
