Against my better judgement and the warnings of others, I still went to Toyota Bountiful to test-drive a Toyota Camry. The first salesman that I worked with, Craig, was great. He later told my mother and I that he is a real estate agent, and I think that is what sets him apart from the other salesmen at Toyota Bountiful. He was honest and sincere, and had he not helped me when I came back to purchase the car over a week after my first test drive, I wouldn't be driving my Camry right now. The first night I was there, another salesman (who I later found out was the Internet Sales Manager) and I were hashing out details, but I didn't feel comfortable with the situation and walked. He called me at least two times after I left trying to work out a deal, but I wasn't impressed with the customer service, nor did I feel like they were being 100% transparent. Over the course of the next several days I received emails from both him and Craig, trying to earn my business. After several poor experiences at Toyota dealerships (salesmen lying to me, salesmen being flat-out rude and offensive), I decided to cut my losses with Toyota and buy the car I wanted from Toyota Bountiful. The evening that I went in to purchase the car was long. In other words, mostly everything about it was typical. There was nothing expedient or impressive about it. After getting back to the finance office I found that promises were made but not kept, because the price I was about to sign for was significantly higher. After pointing it out, I sensed hostility from the Sales Manager and a bit of annoyance from the finance manager I was working with when I asked for a correction. After writing poor reviews, the dealership has made multiple attempts to contact me and "make things right," but I have told them that there is nothing they can do now. They had one chance to make this a good experience, and they failed to do so. Unfortunately, that's the type of business they're in. Overall, here is my takeaway. Their communication is terrible. The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing. One person will tell you one thing, and it's likely that it isn't 100% true, or true at all. Stand your ground, dot all of your i's and cross all of your t's, because they won't do it for you. Although I appreciate them reaching out to "make things right," there isn't really anything that can be done except live and learn. read more

Boo! I've had two car shopping experiences that have brought me through the front doors of this place. The first time I ended up in an argument with a manager. I swear he was trying to guilt me into buying a truck with a broken transmission. (Second gear is kind-of important.) My latest experience included a salesperson that walked us allover the parking lot before concluding that they didn't have the vehicle that we were looking for. We spent a lot of time teaching the sales person about the vehicle that we were looking for. I'd hope that the sales person would have a bit more knowledge about the vehicle than we would, but I guess they didn't do their homework. Also, I get the whole "let me see what my manager says." gig, but don't make me wait 10 minutes every single time you go talk to your manager. I saw a sales person working over an older couple for the entire time I was there. He'd talk to them for two minutes and then leave them alone for 10 minutes, then come back and talk to them again for two minutes. This went on for the entire time I was there. Not cool. read more

I bought my current car from this place, and it wasn't too painful. Just the standard car dealership haggling. Went in yesterday to look at a car, and they tried using some of the most obvious hardball negotiation tactics that I've ever seen. I just wanted to drive the car, and see what price they were hunting for. They then told me that they took it as a trade-in for about twice what KBB lists as the max trade-in price. It was absolutely ridiculous. I'd have given them one star, but I really don't think their behavior was that far from the norm. I wonder if car dealerships just don't realize that in 2013 I have the internet on my phone and I can check the value of the trade-in while they're "talking to their manager". read more

I'm so surprised by these positive reviews. My husband and I have been looking for a used, crossover-sized car for a little while, and we checked Toyota's website and found a used Buick with some minor cosmetic damage that we were interested in. Upon arrival on the lot, the first salesman to approach us had no knowledge of the vehicle. We had called ahead and knew that it was there, so the first salesman found the one that I had talked to on the phone, Jeff (who on the phone was knowledgeable about the vehicle and friendly). Jeff went to get the key for us, but two other salesmen had poured out the key drawer in search of a specific key, so now all the keys were mixed up together on the countertop. Really? Jeff had to ask three people before he found someone who knew where the car even was, so we found it on the back lot and went to look at it. But they still couldn't find the key, so we were unable to test drive it or even look inside, and it was a vehicle we were genuinely very interested in. As people who really value and understand professionalism, we were not the least bit impressed. They were so disorganized at Toyota Bountiful and there were several employees rough-housing in the lot. Jeff was actually very helpful and seemed frustrated that they weren't able to find the key, and I don't blame him for that. We had looked at Toyota Bountiful several months prior and didn't have a great experience either, the salesman who helped us had little to no knowledge of the lot inventory and continued to suggest vehicles outside of our price range, despite us telling him that it was firm. He also asked irrelevant or unimportant questions about our vehicle preferences; it was simply a waste of time. I can understand that everyone has bad days here and there, but the fact that we had two dissatisfying and unimpressive experiences several months apart is enough to deter us for good. read more

We shopped around at many Toyota dealerships in order to purchase a car. This dealership was in the bottom two of all the ones we ended up going to. We visited a few different times and the times we were just looking actually ended up being a non-issue. The day we decided to purchase a car was on a Saturday. It's like the second we let them know we decided to buy they smelled blood in the water. It was a frenzy by the salesman we were working with. Since it was Saturday it was busy so the salesman was whipping us around from here to there trying to get us out the door so he could make his next sale. That day was the first time we had seen the particular vehicle we were going to purchase (we had looked at the model many times, the specific vehicle just wasn't ready until that day). I had a lot of questions about that vehicle and I really didn't ever have time to ask as it felt like he was pushing us faster and faster to just get it done and get out of there. I felt like I was inconveniencing him and his time by asking a simply question. Then we get into the financial guy to set up the loan and finances. He tried to sell us an extended warranty which we politely declined due to our situation. He let out a large sigh and shook his head as if we were making the biggest mistake of our lives. I get that he gets commission off of that sale and we didn't take it, but really? I won't go back, really not a good experience. I've had much warmer and pleasant experiences elsewhere. read more

I set up an appointment to get my car appraised. They low-balled me on the cash offer and gave me a reasonable trade-in offer. I went home and thought about it. I then found a good sale on a new car on their lot and I told them I wanted to trade my car in for the new car at that sale price. But did they honor their first trade-in offer? No!! when they saw I wanted a car that didn't make them enough money, they said that they "made a mistake" on my first trade-in quote. Give me break!! I get that they need to make money on transactions - I am FOR capitalism. But I loathe the bait-and-switch type scheming and double talk that some salesmen use. If that wasn't bad enough, it gets worse! I brought my RAV4 to their service department for a 20,000 mile inspection and maintenance and they completely ignored the fact that the tail light was out. When they handed my key back to me at the end of the visit I asked if they had noticed it during the inspection and they said it was working fine. Of course, when I got home and had my wife take a look it was out. They hadn't even looked at the tail lights despite marking them as functional on the inspection sheet. I've had a very bed experience! I'm a first time car buyer. Worst experience ever. The jeep compass has been jerking when accelerating and the breaks scream and the heater barely works. I brought this to their attention two days after having the car. I got nothing back for about two weeks. I was told to come in so they could look at it. I got off work early went there to have the jeep looked at just to have the service lady tell me " oh yeah the mechanic felt the jerking!" Then they sent me home and said they would call me to bring it in. I bugged them everyday to get updates on when I should bring it in. They just got my jeep in Thursday for them to tell me my transmission is slipping and it's going to coast me 4500.00$ they did say they would cover half but I had to pay for it. This has been going on since October 16th. I would be giving a 0 star but I can't. I'm so hurt and mad not only cause it's my fist time buying a car from a dealership but I have kids and I traded my car in for this and it could break down at anytime. read more

I was extremely disappointed in my experience with Toyota Bountiful for several reasons. - First, my sales consultant was highly inexperienced and was not educated about the vehicles he showed to me. He quoted price on one particular vehicle that was off by about $5000. - Second, sales consultant's manager offered me a price and interest rate that he could not deliver. When I returned the next day to accept the offer and purchase the vehicle, he told me first that he had never made that offer, then that he could not honor that offer because it was "unreasonable". - Third, the associates at this dealership spoke to me in condescending tones, even attempting to lecture me about the value of cars and how my "father would tell [me] to accept Toyota's price". Let's just start of by saying don't believe anything they say, save your time and money and go some where else this was honestly THE WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE!!! From the sales man all the way to the finance team .Long story short lets just say ,we had gone to the dealer ship looking to trade in my 2013 Chevy Cruz we ended up getting screwed over by the sales man and finance team. i was told that the car would be paid in full and we wouldn't be in a up side down loan. Three days later after i bought the car i noticed that i had been lied to and brainwashed with misleading information. I went back to see if they could fix the loan but a man in the finance department pretty much kicked me out of his office and told me that he didn't want to talk to me and to get out. I was vary dissatisfied with the way i was treated,that was not ethical of him to treat me with no respect. after that indecent i talked to the sales consultant said that they would fix the problem and try to make it right. I waited to see if they would do something about it or get back with me with an answer but they never did. They always had an excuses for every thing "oh my boss is out of town," it the end of the month we are super busy" but i will try my best to fix the problem but he never did. Pretty darn good. They make nifty little signs when you go to test drive your new car and make you feel special. The guys working here are fun and personable and make the buying experience less troublesome because they try really hard to make you feel like you're just hanging out with your buddies. There's always a boss-man handy to ask if you're being well taken care of, and I appreciated that. We brought two vehicles to them, I wound up having to buy a new one just to have transportation after they had my 2014 4-Runner for almost 3 weeks. I took it in for service a couple of times and service was ok but now I can't stop them from sending me mailers asking me to trade in the car or sell the car for a new car. Every few weeks I get mailers. I don't even own the car anymore! Called in several times, get transferred around and no one knows how to remove me from the mailing list. I've purchased 3 vehicles here. The sales experience was fine, but service at this location is terrible. After purchasing a car and agreeing on a very specific level of tint, the dealership installed tint that was far below the legal limit. When I went to have it corrected, the service advisor argued that it was the limit, refused initially to test it as he promised he would over the phone, and when he finally did test it refused to reveal the test results. I had already had it tested and knew it was about 20% light on the fronts and about 45% light on the rear sides and back. Additionally, the car had tire damage that went below the lip of the wheel. The wheel itself was not damaged. This indicated that the tires were damaged and moved to wheels that were not. I didn't notice this before purchasing the vehicle. When I noticed the day I took it home, I immediately brought it in. The service advisor originally agreed with me that it needed to be replaced, but after discussing with a service manager for 10 minutes he said it was completely safe and he would just leave it if it were his car. They did agree to go 1/2 on a new tire with me, but their prices for that particular tire were literally double what Discount Tire charged. In other words, they double the price and agree to pay half = I get a tire for the same price I could get it at Discount. I was willing to just forget this experience after receiving (and giving a mutual) apology from their service advisor until my 4runner started shaking at highway speeds. I had taken my 4runner in for the included Toyota Care service. This was basically a vehicle check, fluid top off, oil change, and tire rotation. I have aftermarket wheels and hub centric rings. I specifically let the service person know about this and they say it's no problem. I get the car home and it develops a shake over the next few days. I lift it in my garage, and as I'm removing the wheels to investigate I find that a lug nut on the front passenger is completely missing. 2 others are badly stripped/damaged. None of them are properly torqued! Once I get the wheels off I find that one hub centric ring is missing. If you're unfamiliar, the hub centric ring adapts the bore of the wheel so that it rests on the axle hub. This allows the tire to be mounted symmetrically and keeps the weight and stress off of the lug nuts. Not having a hub centric wheel can be EXTREMELY dangerous. I didn't call the dealership about the hub rings. After my initial experiences with them I didn't think it would go well, and would just cause stress without actually resolving the issue. Instead, I tracked down a set of rings and drove about 80 miles round trip to spend $50 on them. Thanks, Toyota Bountiful! I will never go to this location again, for sales or service, and I will tell every person I know (I'm a member of a lot of Toyota groups in Utah and across the US, so LOTS of people will hear this) not to do business here. This service center needs to be overhauled, trained, and given new leadership before they are allowed to touch another car. read more

Toyota Bountiful is the best! My husband and I were shopping for a used car and Jesse & Cameron totally hooked us up! Jesse picked us up and drove us to the dealership which was super beneficial! We told him our price range and that we didn't have much down to work with and he helped us stay within our budget! The 2005 Ford Focus we saw online was there, but they also had a 2012 Hyundai Accent that had gotten there the day before that he showed us. Since it was still dirty, he knocked the price down to our budget but still got it cleaned! Our monthly payments are only $19 more than what we were looking for but we had no problem with it because of the year! They were also able to have us only do $300 down, compared to the $1,500 the bank wanted! Cameron was super funny and friendly and turns out we're both from San Diego! I'd give them a zero if I could. Took weeks to get a new key and detailing after my stolen car was recovered. I had to hold their hand during the entire process. Poor communication with my insurance agency caused the repairs to take weeks longer than they should have and to top it off, they forgot to detail the car when it was finally finished. read more

Satisfied customer to 200% disgusted. I bought a brand new 2018 Tundra from Toyota Bountiful and after driving it off their lot discovered an odd issue with the refueling neck and gasket that wasn't properly seated around it. At my first service appointment I brought it up expecting it to be fixed under warranty because it was a defect on my brand new truck. My service advisor Andrew informed me that this was not covered under warranty, and actually laid the blame on the Sales Department for selling me a truck with a defect, and on me for not noticing this issue and documenting it with a signature from a sales manager before driving my truck off their lot for the first time. He also said the dealership would "never" cover this repair because Toyota Corporate would never reimburse them to fix a "damaged" part on the truck. We pulled into the service department for a free scheduled oil change. Our new vehicle has 4 free oil changes and we are taking advantage of this service from Toyota! Our car was taken right in and we were seated in the nice waiting room. It has yummy snacks and tons of treats and soda drinks! We enjoyed free wifi and the exercise room and a quiet room!! I could sit and enjoy these amenities all day... But alas, my car was done in one hour!! When we returned for another scheduled oil change a few months later, Javier shuttled us to Lagoon Amusement park! We spent the day playing and screaming while they were busy working on our car. I have been searching my local area for a new 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. These things are rare. I found the one at this dealer on Saturday morning. I called, spoke to an internet manager Craig Vierig. Asked him if he had this vehicle. "Sure do, it's on the showroom floor" Great, I say. I would like to give you a deposit right now to buy this, and start preparing for my 800 mile road trip to acquire this for my son, as his Christmas gift. I informed Craig of my intentions, to purchase sight unseen, bring a cashiers check, he even asked about my credit score. I thought he understood. He took my personal information, said he would call back in half an hour and email documents. In the mean time, I have informed my son of my good fortune, finding this needle in a haystack. We both got busy with travel plans, acquired time off work to drive out Monday, get the new rig and drive back home Tuesday. I had everything in order. Now for the part where I can't believe this is the truth. I waited 3 hours for a call back. I got impatient, called the dealership, asked for Craig. The receptionist replied " He's busy with another customer" I left my name and return phone number. I then texted him my contact info again in case he transposed numbers or something. As the owner of a multi-million dollar sales organization, I'm thinking " Here is a client willing to pay $5000 over MSRP for a rig we have in stock." Why are they not calling back. Must be busy. Too busy to hand this hot lead to another manager? Maybe they aren't taking me seriously. Now it's 4 hours plus still no call. I call to the dealership again. Craig is still busy. I ask for a manager. I speak with a manager, only to find out "That we just sold it" I'm thinking he means me. Turns out , according to his word, he sold it to someone else just now. I missed out because of a poor communication problem that exists at this dealership. To add insult to injury, which really prompted me to write this complaint was a voicemail from the sales and operations manager named Daniel. He calls at 5:30 ( 7 hours after initial contact) to inform me that Craig was busy selling 5 other cars that day, and we subsequently sold the car you committed to in the meantime. Thanks alot guys. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. All the guys my husband and I worked with there - Brad, Marquis, Cameron, Paul, LT, and Tyson -- were simply amazing. I traded in a car that had negative equity and I thought for sure the trade-in value was going to be about 1/3 of what they offered me (LHM dealership offered me an insulting $2500 for my trade-in and Toyota Bountiful offered me $6K). They also worked their tails off to get me into a Tacoma with a monthly payment that was as close to my budget as possible. Every time they came to me with a figure that simply wouldn't fit my budget, they crunched more numbers and made it all work. For an anxious buyer, their attitudes toward me and their patience with me were lifesavers. There were so many ways these people went above and beyond for us; too many to list here. On top of their diligent work, the place was fun! They celebrate sales with the customers by ringing a bell and Paul plays a song on his violin. No kidding. It is wacky and fun. Everyone we worked with had a great sense of humor and all of them were personable and engaging. I am very pleased with my purchase and, when I am ready to buy another vehicle, Toyota Bountiful is the first dealership I will go to. read more

I have had a few experiences with Toyota Bountiful that have left a lasting impression. #1 I purchased a platinum extended service agreement for 2200.00 on my vehicle. When I sold the vehicle I tried several times to cancel the warranty and get the pro rated return back and nobody will help me. They constantly find reason after reason That they won't refund the difference. #2 my mother took her highlander in for a new battery to be installed. Their service techs broke a part trying to pull the old battery out rendering her car un-drivable and they said it would be 2 weeks until they could get the new part in. Then they refused to provide a rental car stating they don't do that anymore. It came down to getting our family attorney involved before they works comp her with a vehicle after they broke hers. #3 I have taken my vehicle there for an air conditioning issue twice now and they have yet to be able to fix it. Both times they said it was repaired and both times the problem has come right back. Do yourselves a favor and seek out another Toyota dealership. Toyota Bountiful is not interested in helping anybody but themselves. read more

Service Dept - Bait and Switch We had Toyota perform 2 recall repairs with a 2011 Sienna. We also wanted to find out out how much new brakes on the front would cost. We were then quoted by Tess in the service dept $235 to resurface rotors and replace the brake pads or $448 if we need to replace the rotors. I approved the $235 and dropped the car off to Mark in the service dept for the day to be repaired. Here is when it all fell apart. My wife receives a call later that afternoon from Mark stating that they went ahead and replaced the rotors since it had too much rust so the cost was going to more than double what I had approved, after my wife disagreed with him he became hostile stating that we could not pick up our car until the full amount of the price that was not approved was paid. I then went to Toyota to resolve the issue and found in the computer with Sam in the service dept that notes in the computer still stated the rotors needed to be resurfaced not replaced. I was told that Mark would call me in the morning which he didn't. After 3 more calls talking to Deja, Tess (I never did hear from Mark again), Brandon his supervisor calls me back to apologize for treating my wife that way and they should've not gone forward with the extra work unless notifying us but sorry to say the charge stands, but they would give me $100 credit for an oil change etc... to go back there and hope they don't screw us again or pressure my wife. Don't plan on going there again and would advise everyone to get the estimate in hand first and WHEN they increase the charge on you don't pay and support this company. What's even crazier is they take the time to send me a video and don't even show me the rotors that were so bad they had to be replaced. I had a very pleasant experience with the sales side of this dealership. However, the service side leaves much to be desired. My temporary registration was screwed on incorrectly, leaving it impossible to correctly put on the permanent plate. I was told that the body guys would need to fix it and they would contact me. Ha! I never got a call. In fact, I have called SEVERAL times myself to get it taken care of, and cannot get anyone to call back. Used Toyota bountiful to do the maintenance on my car for 2 years now. I used to love them but over time there customer service has gone down and they aren't the same business they used to be. I continued to go to them for maintenance asking myself each time why I go back to them. Well, last time I went, they didn't screw the bolt on tight after doing my oil change so my car was leaking oil and almost ran out of oil. I didn't think much of it until I was talking to a friend who also goes there for maintenance and the same thing happened to them except their car ran out of oil. They didn't even offer to make it right. I will never go back here for maintenance again, they lost my business and trust. read more

Super sketchy. I had a terrible experience with one of their sales people, he was very dodgey. I justified it in my mind and allowed some grace, because he seemed inexperienced, but when I called to talk to another associate or the manager, it was the most dishonest runaround I've ever experienced. I had a super simple but important question that could've been easily resolved. They put me on hold just to try to get me to go away, then claimed they were in a "meeting," but wouldn't let me wait on the phone when I offered. They then referred me to the national Toyota headquarters in Detroit and I could google the number. So weird. Now that I think of it, maybe I should take their advice and call headquarters and let them know what sort of treatment we received from their affiliate in Bountiful.... read more
