horrible experience with distrustful/lying sales people. I was buying a new car for my senior year of college as a gift from my dad. We had a nice used Toyota Camry picked out with low mileage and a decent price. We arrive to the store and they seemed nice and helpful. However, once we started the test drive things started to be a little fishy and set-up. I do not remember the name of our sales guy, something like Marco.Anyways, about halfway through the test drive me and my dad are saying how the car drives well and this would be perfect and suddenly our sales person get a call from his 'boss'. He says, "well it looks like they just sold this car to a young couple back at the store, but since we are driving it you guys should get first dibs! Let's head back there right away so you guys can be the one to get this car!" UMM? Fishy right!? So we get back to the dealership and some other guy comes running up saying that the couple just bought it and are about to take to and drive home with it. But, if you pay $1,000 more than the asking price you guys would get the car and not the couple. THERE WAS NO COUPLE. it was a huge gimmick trying to put pressure on us to purchase the car right away. They were entirely rude about the whole thing when we called them out when we asked to speak with couple. We tried to leave multiple times and they would not let us leave the location. Forcefully guiding us back to our chairs. We finally got so fed up with these sharks that we ran out the door as soon as they went to go "speak with the other couple about backing out of the deal in the back room". Never going here again. Definitely not the typical dealership!! Loved the whole experience!! I hate buying cars! I have avoided it for the last 10 years because I hate it so much! But with a new driver in our home, we needed another vehicle. After searching at multiple car lots and those horrible feelings of car shopping resurfacing, I was beginning to be discouraged. Luckily we had learned a lot from our negative car buying experiences in the past and didn't let anyone bully us into something we didn't want. (Still frustrating when they try though.) But Toyota of Bountiful was different. Right from the start at we were greeted by Doug , the Sales Manager who made sure we were taken care of even though all the sales associates were busy with multiple customers. The employees were all friendly and went above and beyond at every step of the process to make sure our questions were answered and that we got the best deal possible. Although we bought a used car, with the deal we got, and the beautiful car we drove away with, I feel like we got a steal on a brand new car. I would be very careful using this dealership. I called about on Audi they had for sale and was told it sold a couple hours earlier. Then saw the same car almost a week later but the price had increased. My husband at that point called and was told again the car had just sold. So I decided to call the guy I originally talked to and see what was going on. I was then told the car was in the shop. Then I asked why the price increase if the car was in the shop. I was told for every fix they are doing the price will continue to increase. I am not sure what the truth is but it seemed a little off to me. The car purchase it self was pretty good and fast. They showed us a clean car fax report, telling us this adds value to our vehicle of $200. We were in and out of there with in 3 hours. After purchasing the vehicle and driving it home 50 miles. The front bumper pops out and its pretty obvious that there was a problem with the car. I called and emailed the next day telling them I would like this fixed, and got no response from my sales man. after a few days he said maybe they will look at it. After taking the car into them for the poly steel and tow hitch I asked them to look into the front bumper, and to see if they can easily fix that. They told me my car was hit in an accident and would need to be taken to a auto body shop for a repair of $250. When I asked them to fix it they were again unresponsive. When I asked them to split it with me still no response. After having my car for 2 days they called to say my car was ready and to come pick it up. Then on the way there I was told that it would need to come back for the second step of the trailer hitch to be connected to the computer. Really, you couldn't do that while it was already there? I live over an hour away from the dealer. So I have to spend a few hours now driving and another few hours sitting and waiting to get my car finished, again? When I asked if I could take it to a closer dealer to have it finished up, they referred me to the unresponsive sales man, who does not return phone calls, or emails. Buyer be ware. This company sucks at customer service. They simply do not care about you after you drive a car off their lot. I feel like they knew the car was hit and tried to cover it up, then blamed it on car fax. Here is a thought, Don't use car fax as a sales tactic then turn around and tell us that car fax is pretty much a joke! read more

Don't get trapped by this dealership. They have the worst service when something goes wrong. I bought a car and the very next month the car broke down. The warranty did not cover the repair. We have had the car six months and the car just stopped. We tried to trade the car but conveniently there was nothing that they would trade. They told me my car was not worth very much and that I should get it fixed and then they might be able to trade it. So a week and a half later I have talked to seven different people who made promises of getting rentals and calling me back. I never received a call back or a rental. I was sold a bad product, any other business would take it back and give a refund. Because it is a car I am SOL. Not there problem read more

Horrible Business Practices. We went in knowing which vehicle we wanted to purchase. We were told it would take 15 minutes to get an appraisal done on our car. 20 minutes later our salesman walks past us with his backpack on and says the guys at the desk have my appraisal done and to go talk to them. Well I get down there and they are just clowning around, no appraisal done. They say they will get it done ASAP. Well after a total of 1 hour they come down to say they are going to make me a "sweet deal" estimate the value of my vehicle at between 12k-13k. We asked them to put together a price and asked for the keys. I have to track them down, it must be too hard or a sales ploy to give you your keys back. I asked where they parked the car, he says where you parked it before. Well its snowing outside and my car is not there, I have to walk from the South Parking lot to the North and search. If these clowns treat people like this as they are ready to purchase a vehicle I can only imagine what they rest of the process would be. I am excited to see their response and how its my fault, as per their other replies to reviews. Luckily their are many other Toyota dealers nearby. read more

Had a good experience overall. My only complaint was the 3.5 hour wait it took for us to get into the finance lady, but they were understaffed due to a sick employee on their busiest weekend of the year. We would have been miserable, but our three kids were very entertained with the bounce house, movie rooms and all the tone of free snacks. Ramon was very attentive to us and kept us updated with where we were at in line. We got a great value for our trade in on our Toyota Prius that I was stoked about. Got pre-approved for the car I wanted made an appointment and when I got there was told the car was not approved. Then with my wife, we went 3hrs into it to sell me a car I could not afford. When done was told I would be financing at around 12,000 then 14,000 at the end it ended up over 16,000. After sell noticed thumping sound from clean air duct and was told this is not covered by the extend warranty they sold us. Now after 6 weeks the check engine light is on and the transmission is slipping 2010 Grand Caravan. Stay away unless you got cash and don't mind throwing it away. read more

Had a super positive experience buying my first car through a dealership. I almost bought a car somewhere else but I'm very glad I found Toyota Bountiful! I was nervous about all the things that go into buying a car and needed time throughout the process to consider my decision. I didn't feel pressured or intimidated. Instead, the sales rep who helped me, Kelly, was very patient and understanding, even when I took time to talk with my parents over the phone about it. From the moment I spoke with her over the phone to schedule a drive through the moment my purchase was complete, she was friendly and kind. She even helped me set up new insurance on the spot so that I could drive the vehicle off the lot. Then she printed out a copy of my insurance for me to have. She made sure the car was detailed before I left and helped me move the things from my old car into my new car. She even took the plates off of my old car that I was trading in HERSELF. Dang talk about being in the action!! Wow Kelly you are a remarkable lady! You just don't see this kind of service everywhere you go! When I was feeling overwhelmed because I had never made a purchase so large and needed a moment to let it soak in and think it over, Kelly suggested I take a minute to sit in their super comfy chairs in the waiting area. Guys, they have all sorts of snacks, bottled water, and soft drinks for you as you wait for your car to be worked on or detailed in their service department. Also, my fav show was playing so yeah I was happy about that. Then there was Jake. Mr. Disney Land. Wow, what a hardworking and patient dude! He seriously went above and beyond to make sure I got the best deal to finance my car. We went through a few different options until I found something I was very happy with committing to. I can't thank him enough! He helped me get an interest rate that was perfect for my situation and helped me find a good deal on a 3 year warranty! I didn't even want a warranty in the beginning, but am really glad I got one because it was within my budget and a great opportunity to feel reassured about buying a used car. I was in the market for an SUV and wanted a Toyota. I have looked around at other dealers and Toyota of Bountiful was my last choice. I went in and was interested in an FJ Cruiser. I bought a new one from there and my experience with the sales person was pretty good. He was easy to work with and answered all my questions and helped me with all my car buying needs. The service department was absolutely excellent. I took my suv there for servicing and was always impressed by their work and finishing it in a fast time. The one minor complain would have to be with the financing department. That was my only issue with this dealer. The financing department was not very clear on certain things. They were not very straight forward with me which is something I really hate specially when it comes to money. And dealing with the financing department is what left a sour taste for me. I could go on and on about the lies I was told. Several different times, different staff would tell me different lies as to why my calls were not returned. They actually had the nerve to tell me that the Assistant Service manager was out of town for an entire month and that is why my messages and emails were not returned. And then, when I did get ahold of him, he said he would call me the next day.... That was 3 weeks ago today; still haven't heard from him. JOHN NEEDS TO FIND A NEW JOB. He has no follow through ability at all. I wont waste your time with the months and month of BS I could tell you about. From being lied to, to being hung up on, to being left in the parking lot with no shuttle ride. Just the worst service ever. Lying and terrible customer service are their bottom line. I was visiting family from out of town. The bearings on my car went out and I have an extended warranty. I called the dealership to let them know what was wrong and that I needed the bearings replaced. The serviceman who helped me, Brian, reassured me they had all the parts available. The warranty allowed for a rental for the day, so Brian had someone take me to Enterprise in his own truck to get me the rental. They had it for nearly 30 hours when I had heard nothing and finally called for an update, only to find out they actually didn't have the parts. I was told by Brian that they would 'repack' the bearings so it would be safe to drive home. News flash Brian, you cannot 'repack' sealed bearings. I took the rental back to Bountiful Toyota and Brian said they would take it back. Three months later Enterprise called to tell me Bountiful Toyota was refusing to pay the bill and I was responsible for 3 days worth of car rental. I was told before dropping of my car that if they did not have the parts, I would be responsible for the rental, however, Brian assured me all parts were there and ready to go, otherwise I never would have left the car. Not only was I shocked to find out the rental hadn't been paid, but Bountiful Toyota didn't return the car for an additional 2 days and now I was being stuck with the bill. I tried to resolve the issue through Enterprise, who referred me to Brian. On two separate occasions he said he would speak to his manager and call back, which never happened. In following up with Enterprise I was told the account manager, Chelsea, said 'we did not send that customer over to you guys and we wont be paying the bill. When I called Chelsea to resolve the matter, she asked to place me on hold so she could investigate and suddenly Brian picked up the phone. Again, the issue was never resolved. Luckily Enterprise was kind enough to reduce the days from 3 to 1 since I only had the car for one day. After purchasing a car from Bountiful Toyata and being assured I was getting the best deal possible, only to find out later that same day that the vehicle was advertised at a lower rate online, I should have known not to return to a place where lying is common place. I will NEVER return to this dealership and would advise everyone to go elsewhere. read more

To be completely honest they don't even deserve 1 star. When I bought my Rav I had a great experience. Once that part is complete apparently continuing the relationship is not. I called numerous times months ago and each time never received a call back finally the lady that took my 4 or 5 call advised me the GM would be copied on the email to some manager and for sure I would get a call back. NOPE!! I finally got a hold of someone who could help me with cancelling my gap insurance. I live in Oregon now so coming to the dealership was not an option for me so he claimed that if I text my odometer to him he could get it done for me. He gave me his cell phone number to do so which I never received a response. I text him a couple weeks after asking for a follow up which he didn't respond to so I text him again. Finally he responded and said he would take care of it once he got to work. I never heard from him so have messaged him twice since. I have still not been helped after 3 months. I always buy Toyota's and have dealt with other Toyota dealerships in the past and have never received this type of treatment before! read more

I have owned about 5 vehicles in my lifetime and I dread going to dealerships since they always have hidden fees/agendas and I leave feeling cheated; however, this was not the case at Toyota Bountiful. Before you buy a car.. start here! My story: I went to Mark Miller Toyota since I was promised a price and when I got there and my wife test drove the van, Jim M. the salesman handed me an invoice $1200 over what he personally promised on the phone-- I will never go back ever and I encourage everyone to avoid Mark Miller Toyota and Jim M, specifically, he will waste your time like he did mine. Afterwards, I left annoyed and then called Doug (Manager) and Matt (Salesman) at Toyota Bountiful, and they promised me a price, and said its our word that it will not increase. I am happy to say that when I showed up, there were no games or hassles. Doug and Matt made me feel at ease, held true to their word and quoted price, and got me the exact color and style my wife and I wanted. When the vehicle showed up (since they needed to trade with another dealership), Matt went above and beyond and even personally washed and detailed it for me. They demonstrated that the customer comes first, and I will always send my Toyota business there way. It was a great experience! read more

So I went in to get a new key for the Prius I just purchased from a private seller and the key cost me more then 300 dollars that is a scam if you ask me. He said good thing you didn't wait if I would of lost my single key it would of cost me a lot more. I have always liked Toyotas but when they are over charging for something like a key it seems strange. My brother replaced his key for an infinity for cheaper. Anyway everyone at the dealer was nice to work with very friendly staff. Just Toyota as a company should stop ripping people off for keys. Just because they can does not mean they should. I bought the extended maintenance plan when I bought our car 2 years ago in Reno. I've been used to 1-2 hour waits for my regular maintenance at the dealership there so when we moved and switched dealerships I was ready for a similar wait. I got nice and cozy in their waiting room with the free snacks and a drink and within 5 minutes of sitting down my car was DONE! Amazing! After a bad experience two years ago, I thought I would give them another try. Boy was I wrong to even try. I live in Bountiful so it would be so much more convenient for me to buy and service my Toyotas from these guys, but it's just not worth it. They continue to play the dealership pricing games and ask way too much for vehicles compared to their competitors. Since my first visit, our family has purchased 2 more Toyotas from another dealer. We drive 40 miles to Orem to buy and service our cars/trucks. Toyota Bountiful cares about one thing, and one thing only: THEIR PROFIT. I'm all for dealers making money and staying in business, but come on, don't you need to treat the customer with a little respect! Toyota Bountiful's ideal customer is someone with no car buying experience; someone that hasn't done their research; someone that easily succumbs to pressure; and someone that is willing to pay too much for a car. Bountiful Toyota's motto should be: "Where we are king and the customer is lucky to have us sell or service their vehicle. I wanted people to know about my experience purchasing a car with Toyota Bountiful. In November of 2016, I went to Toyota Bountiful to purchase a car. I was told I had been pre-approved. Of course, buying a car is never an easy process. Once I was in the dealership, I was told I had not been pre-approved & they were trying to find me financing. The man in finance was able to find me financing and I was told the finance company would be sending me information on how to make my payment within the next 30 days. My first payment was due on January 7th. After the holidays, I began to get concerned when I hadn't received anything from the finance company. So I looked through my paperwork & found a phone number to the company that was financing me. I gave them a call to see if I could make my payment. The finance company had no record of me ever having a loan through them. I hung up and called the dealership right away. I spoke with the receptionist who informed me the finance employee I worked with was no longer employed there and I needed to speak with the finance manager. She told me she would take my information down and have him call me. I did not receive a call from anyone for the next two days. My parents do business with Toyota Bountiful & the only way I found out anything was from them telling my parents. I am not a minor & found it extremely unprofessional that I had to find out what was going on with my car through a third party. The dealership informed my parents that my file had been placed on a shelf & not processed since November (it was now January). They began to run my credit (a total of five times) without my permission or even speaking with me first. After doing that, they said I would need to bring the car back. They did not try to resolve the issue they caused and when I told them the contract stated it was their responsibility to fix this, they said the contract was void after 30 days. I read through the entire contract and had several other people read through the contract, nothing stated the contract was void if the dealership failed to do their job. It stated it was their responsibility to find me financing. When I brought this to their attention, they said I would need to set up an appointment with their new finance person and try to resolve this. I went into the financing office and was told they were able to find a new place for my account. However, after my experience with them, while signing paperwork, I took my time and read through every document. The finance lady did not like that and continued to try to rush me to just sign the contracts. This is by far the worst car buying experience I have ever experienced. I had a horrible experience dealing with Scott in the finance department. He was very unhelpful and very unsympathetic. He was not willing to try and help me out, especially because I was a first time buyer. I felt as if he was trying to get over on me and not find me the best options. He also had very bad customer service. He seems as if he isn't there to help and not willing to do so either. He told me I had to return my car, as I was returning the car I went to the finance manager, Jake and he was super concerned, felt sympathy and was willing to take a look at my situation to help me out. He ended up finding me a better deal on my car with a WAY better interest rate and I got to keep my car! All in all I had a roller coaster of emotions working with Scott. If I were you I would definitely work with someone other than him. Best car buying experience to date. These guys worked very hard to make this car work into our budget. There was absolutely no pressure and no obnoxious in your face sales people. Jarrid was great and answered all questions. While i was outside my wife hit Jarrid up with all kinds of questions like does this care have to be plugged in (lol - hybrid) and many more and she was treated with respect. Obviously no such thing as a stupid question here. There were a couple times they had to rework the payment numbers and they did so without any hesitancy. Could be have gotten the price lower? Maybe they already dropped about 2k below BB. Luckily our wait for the finance guy was not long. We walked out with the car at about 10:30 PM so the rush for the finance people was already over :) Weston (finance guy) really worked hard to get us extra warranty items that were out of our budget. He felt strongly enough about warranty item that he threw it in for us at no extra cost. Would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. read more

Had a really horrible experience this weekend. My wife and I invested 5 hours total trying to buy 2 new cars from Toyota Bountiful (Crying kids and all). Long story short - we were told up front they would cover our payoff values and the numbers would work. After the 5 hours of shopping, talking, deciding, it ends up they wanted to give us about half of what we owed on our cars (and we're far from upside down on either of them). It was amazing to me that they would say anything to get our attention, then blatantly lie without regard to the most precious non-replenishable resource known to man - TIME.
