My 11 year old son and I went to see "A Tuna Christmas" last night at the Sam Bass theatre!! What…read morean fabulous show! Two guys play the roles of the whole cast! So funny, we laughed so much! The scene changes were cleverly done and the costume changes for each character were brilliant! The actors never mixed up any of the 21 characters that they played between them. We felt like we had seen 21 different characters in the play. No one missed a line, and here were LOTS of lines! I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! I had never been to the Sam Bass theatre before and for those who haven't you're in for a real treat! There are 52 seats! Everyone has a great view! There is a little bar area to the left of the theatre where they offer drinks, including wine and beer. Take cash in smaller denominations as it is cash only and the suggested "donation" for drinks start with sodas for one dollar. At the interval there were some little snacks to eat, a fruit platter, cheese and crackers etc, this was complimentary, very generous and welcomed by all! All in all we had a memorable evening and we both absolutely loved it. Thank you to the Sam Bass Theatre, we will be back!!

Today I had the pleasure of introducing myself to Wes, who truly does it all! He's the cashier, pizza maker, server, and keeps an eye on every table to make sure guests have everything they need. His friendly attitude and dedication really stand out. After 12 years at this location, it's clear he takes pride in what he does, and it shows. Roots Pizza is a great spot right on the Georgetown Square with plenty of seating, an upstairs dining area, TVs for catching the game, and a nice craft beer selection. Our experience with Arts Avenue was frustrating and unprofessional…read more We paid recital and costume fees months in advance, with the understanding that key details would be provided later in the season. Those details--rehearsal schedules, dates, and location--were never communicated. When we asked for clarification, we were told the studio was still working through the details, which is unacceptable given that families had already paid. To make matters worse, the studio attempted to attribute the confusion to my child rather than taking accountability for their lack of communication. It also became clear that the studio prioritizes its competition team, while other students receive significantly less organization and preparation--despite paying for recital participation and costumes. We expected a much higher level of professionalism and transparency.

It is hard to express how disappointed we were with this experience. There were many cancelled…read moreclasses, teachers changed, there was a lack of communication with parents, the coaching my child received was minimal. I emailed at least five times with concerns and never got a response. The production itself was also really disappointing, and I felt it made my child hesitant to be involved in productions moving forward. They preformed scenes they NEVER rehearsed. What should have been a 50 min show was 1.5 hours, largely because the teacher was feeding them all their lines. My child has been in four different productions, some for much younger kids. This production was by far the least developed and "roughest" to get through. These concerns seem to be tied to larger business issues. Although I know some folks who have had god experience with the dance side of things, the theater program is underserved and it was incredibly frustrating.

This is something that at first he didn't want to to, but as a mother, I knew where his talents were at a very early stage. Of course this is not the only thing he's good at, but in my opinion, kids develop more that just acting skills with the programs offered at this place. Meeting new friends, using movement for expression, working with a group, following directions., creating their own style, among so many other skills I see my son flourish at this place through the years. Even the fact that they're getting comfortable presenting in front of an audience gives these kids the chance to come out of their shell and become more confident. I'll be taking my son here until he's able to go for the summer program. This is definitely an investment into his character.

Pita came warm and on point. The white bean hummus was recommended, but I couldn't get past the texture and look (reminded me of raw chicken breast paste). It tasted fine, but the appearance was tough to overlook. Alcoholic drinks were solid, a plus thar they're served in nice glasses with beautiful presentation. We eventually had to stand up and leave because no one ever came. Our previous visits weren't much better. One time, there were only a handful of cars in the parking lot, yet the service was still slow. Another time, we actually had to go looking for our server just so we could place our order. This has consistently been the worst restaurant service we've experienced. It's incredibly disappointing, especially when dining with children. We were hoping this place would become one of our favorites, but after giving it three chances, we've had enough. We will never be coming back and cannot recommend it based on our experiences.
