I would love to give it 5 stars, but service means a lot to me! I stepped inside and I was in awe! I absolutely loved the lights and entertainment. I can see the arcade, bowling alley, the bar, and screening area as soon as I walked in. This place was so alive. I love how they have happy hour and the all in summer pass ! I sat down and ordered my food about 15 minutes before the previews started. I ordered a Frito pie and a drink. My Frito pie came out first. I asked the employee about my drink and he was clueless. He said he guess it will come out later. So if I choke mid bite because of thirst and food stuck in my throat, I GUESS you will be calling the ambulance. Clearly I need a drink with my food if I ordered it. My food was gone by time my drink came. This is totally unacceptable. I ordered popcorn too, it was cold when I got it. Hooky, please do better with your service. There is no reason why my drink wasn't with my food and i ordered it at the same exact time. My Frito pie was just okay. If you are going to try something different with your frito pie recipe please nail it. Otherwise, make it the traditional way. My popcorn was soooo good, I just wish it was warmer. Also, you have to order from a QR code to toast vs someone coming to take your order. I enjoyed the theater experience overall . It was comfortable and clean! I want to give this place a 5 stars so badly, but I can't give credit for bad service.

We had a blast at Hooky Entertainment Hutto. The staff were friendly and guided us where we needed to be. Played bowling and most of their arcades via their one hour limit cards. The pizza was okay and drinks were the usual soda brands. Definitely worth the drive from San Antonio, TX.

Don't waste your money on the food. Yuck! I had the dynamite shrimp which was salty, the elote fritters which were gross and the churros which were good but hard on the ends. My grandson had the cheeseburger which he took one bite and said it was gross. My husband had the frito pie which he ate all of it so I'm assuming that was decent. We were in a smaller theatre so all the rows were the same height which was difficult for a 10 year old in the last row to see. Games are basic. There's no pool tables even though the website says there are and that was one reason why we picked this place today. We waited for a bowling lane about half the lanes weren't working.

This is a spot tucked away in a corner in Hutto that will not disappoint you. I visited this location during the week for a 4:30 movie and had a great experience. Tickets are available for purchase online in advance and of course that is where you will select your seats. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Iliana, who was super sweet and directed us to the self service kiosk and answered all questions we had. The tickets were printed quickly, and then we were off to get food before the movie. The concession stand appeared to be stocked and it was fairly quiet with not many people which was also a plus. Although we did not purchase any snack items, I did notice that the popcorn and soft drinks were unlimited and you refill everything yourself which is also a great addition. Happy Hour is from 4-7 Monday-Thursday, and because I arrived at 4, I was able to take full advantage of it. Hooky offers a GREAT selection of drinks and small bites during this time, which was impressive to say the least. We sat at the bar and Trace immediately greeting us, and gave more insight into Happy Hour. We ordered two drinks, and they were super strong and refreshing. Our food order consisted of the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Loaded Waffle Fries, and Dynamite Shrimp. Everything was fantastic and cooked perfectly!! The actual theater that our movie played in was super clean, and the chairs were comfortable. I also visited the restroom and that was also clean which impressed me as well. After the movie, we got one more drink before the end of happy hour and this time Elias the new bartender was also extra nice, knowledgeable, and professional. We moved on to the games and had a great time with no wait to play anything. You will need a digital card and load money, which equates to points. Each game is a reasonable amount of points, and some games offer tickets after winning which can be used for prizes once you're all done and ready to head out. Connor helped in the prize area and I selected a cute little commemorative lip gloss for my first Hooky prize. They also offer bowling, which we did not partake in, but the lanes were clean and not crowded, so I will definitely be back !!! Overall this location offers good food, great drinks and a nice atmosphere which can be enjoyed by all.

Hooky Entertainment is a fun spot here in Hutto. The game room is not big, which I appreciate because it's not overwhelming for little kids. If you like a big variety of games you may feel limited in what games they have. They have a movie theater and bowling as well. I can't speak for the movie theater side since I haven't used it yet, but I can say the snack area is super convenient. You fill up your own popcorn and add your own butter, which is great. They offer a big bucket or a kid-size popcorn. Thankfully we all share the popcorn. It's a lot of popcorn. I've heard the food is good, but I haven't tried it myself. I mainly come for the games and my favorite is the little kids' game where the balls come down. We enjoy it for a fun time.

I visited the place for the first time for the early premiere of Wicked: For Good. The establishment itself is very nice. The chairs are comfy, and the theatre is spacious. Now, the food was not great in my opinion. I had the elote fritters and a shrimp Caesar salad. The elote fritters were fried too hard and dry, so I wasn't a fan. The Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was not good at all. I believe they waited too long to bring it out, so the lettuce was extra soggy (like cooked spinach) and warm. Warm salads are not my thing. Anywho, Wicked: For Good was amazing!

This was my 2nd visit at Hooky. Since it was spring break week, it was a little crowded but wasn't too crazy. My 5 yr old enjoyed the arcade games especially the racing ones. All games are in very good condition and maintained very well. The bowling alley was full so couldn't do that but we enjoyed the arcade and the food. There is a happy hour from 5-7pm on weekdays with shareable being half off. We availed that offer for the dynamite shrimp and elote fritters. Honestly, I enjoyed the shareables much more during my 1st visit. This time they didnt taste as good. But the Texas melt was absolutely amazing. Juicy and tasty. Hope the taste is consistent when I visit next.

I went and had such a great time here, instructions, staff and food were great. We also had a good time at the arcade, a little bit pricey but everything is brand new, from the seats to the arcade machines.

Review is specifically about the theatre experience, we did not try the bowling or arcade. But, Omgosh IMO HOOKY movie theatre suuuuuuuucks. Never again!!! I'll come back for bowling, but not movies. It's so weird how they did the theaters and the seats don't actually recline, they like sink but don't go back, it's all so awkward. Moviehouse remains number 1 in our house even with the drive . Things we liked, the unlimited refills on sodas and popcorn, the food was pretty good for a movie theatre we liked the crispy pepperonis for sure. We also like that everyone was super nice! No one really explained how anything worked but if I asked a question everyone was super helpful. We were even able to love our seats. So the seats are elevated, it's basically a flat room with rows of chairs. If you look closely there is a very slight incline but in the further back rows for the kids the backs of the chairs in front were blocking the bottom of the screen. The brand new smell also gave me a terrible headache. Only mentioning as there may be others that are also sensitive to smells, maybe avoid this place for a few months until the offgassing ends idk. 2.5 stars because it's really nice and new, a good addition to Hutto but personally will not see another movie here. It's just so awkward

We got a movie theater in Hutto before McAlister's. Ain't that crazy. I wanted to go to Hooky a few times before formulating my thoughts on it. Originally planned to be an EVO Entertainment, through some sort of way, the brand of Hooky Entertainment was born out of the rubble with the inaugural location in Hutto, a city yearning for more. An entertainment destination within our city limits is a huge upgrade to the city's energy. No longer shall we have to drive to Austin. No longer shall we have to drive to Pflugerville. No longer shall we have to drive to Round Rock. Right? Something I think Hooky does really well is cultivating a place that is not "a theater and..." and instead being "... and a theater." That may not click, but let me break it down. Many times, I've gone to a movie theater that has a bar, dining space, or arcade. Those always feel like an afterthought. Hooky wants to be an entertainment destination. Bowling without the need to see a movie. Hanging out at the bar without needing to see a movie. Playing some intense games of Skee-Ball without needing to see a movie. Some places try this, but they still feel like destinations only for movies, with extras tacked on. Hooky feels far more welcoming as a place to hang out and leave without ever thinking about a movie. Here are a few experiences I've had so far: The arcade I love a quality arcade, and Hooky has a pretty good-sized one balanced with ticket games and standard arcade games. I don't always want to win a prize. Sometimes I just want to play NBA Jam. Hooky has plenty of both. The bar From what I've had, their full-scale bar is great. They have plenty of drinks and options. I also love their projector dartboards. I can best compare them to Topgolf for darts, with different minigames while also allowing for standard dart play. The bowling I haven't bowled at Hooky yet, but I hope to soon. I really like their huge projection screen that hangs over the bowling alley. Floating sporting events and graphics make the space feel modern and dynamic. The concessions Hooky has your standard sodas, ICEEs, and more, but their self-serve popcorn machine is incredible. I went in one night and just bought a bucket of popcorn, filled it up, and left. The American Dream. You can layer your butter, and it works very well. I'm a fan. The food At the bar and in the theaters, it's easy to order food via QR code. Honestly, the food feels a little more "elevated" than other full-dining concepts like Studio Movie Grill, Flix, or even Alamo Drafthouse. You're not coming here just for the food, but it's well done for what it is. The movies Hooky's IMAX theater is incredible. Plenty of space, a huge screen, and immersive sound. It rocks. The other theaters are alright. When I saw The Materialists, the room had no stadium seating but did have plenty of space in front of you, so the chairs ahead didn't block the view. I'm not the biggest fan of that setup, but it's not an overnight fix. The chairs were standard leather recliners. I rock with it. If Hooky is reading this review, I want one point to come across. If you want me, a Hutto resident, to rely on your theater instead of the many established theaters in Austin, you need a bigger pool of films. Hosting all the big blockbusters like F1, Mission: Impossible, or Superman is awesome, but we've reached a point where smaller movies by studios or distributors like A24, Neon, Focus, and Searchlight are just as important to see in a theater. Me and plenty of other Hutto residents are willing to make that drive to see those movies, and the Hooky in Hutto hasn't offered them, besides The Materialists. I wanted to put my money where my mouth is, so I saw The Materialists at your theater. I want to stay in my city and support my local economy, but you gotta help me out in return. Other Hooky locations like Waxahachie are already offering these kinds of screenings. Allocate a theater in Hutto for them and I promise you, I will cancel my Alamo Season Pass for the convenience you can offer. Older movies too. Don't hesitate to do limited-run showings. I'd love to see Dirty Dancing on the big screen in Hutto. Don't be afraid of the smaller screenings. Don't be afraid to show The Phoenician Scheme by Wes Anderson. Let Hooky be THE theater of Williamson County. Hooky has potential. It's already a great family-driven space, but there's room to become a true one-stop shop for entertainment in Hutto. Hutto deserves a centerpiece for entertainment. Hooky can be that if it takes the chance.

My sister and I went to see "Obsession" at 12:40, yesterday. When we got to our seats, we noticed that it was humid, hot, and stuffy. We had hoped that once the movie started that the air would come on. Unfortunately, it never did. It was so humid and hot that we left before the movie ended. It was so stuffy that we felt tired and sweaty. We were sticking to the chairs. This theatre is within .2 miles of our home. It's very convenient! It's a great theatre and the reclining seats are pretty great! However, if one has to sit in a stuffy, hot and humid room for 2 hours, it becomes an awful place to be. We understand that prices are going up for electricity. However, we bought tickets and concessions. Is the theatre making enough money to use air conditioning? Don't get me wrong, it's cool and definitely adds to the experience if you're into that kind of thing. It just caught me completely off guard. If you scare easily like me, just prepare yourself or maybe skip the moving seats altogether. Overall, still a good theater, just... mentally prepare if you're not trying to be part of the movie

The sliders were cold and the nachos were just nasty - more "steak" in a can of Campbell's soup. They also came with tiny amounts of sour cream, pico, guac, and jalapeno, and way too much black bean paste. It was really just a plate of chips with bean paste. The food and drinks came to $75, which included an automatic 18% gratuity for a ridiculous lack of service. In the past, the prices weren't outlandish, since they had a better level of food than Alamo and others. Now, it's just from garbage you'd get at a waterpark.
