The place was really quiet, and a bit dark-- the outside sign said they opened at 1pm, but they were clearly open at just after 12:00pm. One orders at the counter, and they bring you the food. I ordered the "tender bowl" with the mildest sauce and with salad as the base rather than rice. My dining partner had a chicken wrap and fries. I was a little sad that, when I asked if I could have "half-rice and half salad", the cashier said no... didn't seem like an unreasonable ask, but whatever. Food came out in maybe 10 minutes. The bowl was a lot of food-- I was glad I didn't have a fully rice one, or else I wouldn't have been able to finish it. The food came with a small sauce, but it had dairy, so I asked for an alternative, and they provided one with mayo & hot-sauce that was quite tasty. Quality was good. The tenders tasted fresh, and the batter wasn't overwhelming as is often the case. The arugula was good. The salad base was fine. And again, a lot of food. The chicken wrap my dining partner has was also quite good, and the fries came with a very spicy seasoning that tasted yummy. Establishment was clean-- I used the restroom too and it was fine. When Peri Peri opened up, my husband and I visited once. We had a good experience at this place, so we decided to return for dinner. Oh boy, we regretted our decision the entire time we were eating. I ordered Grilled Beef Bowl with Steamed Seasonal Veggies and Roasted Corn with spicy level Hot, and my husband ordered Chicken Wrap with Yuca Fries. There's an ice cream freezer with a sign that says if you spend more than $15, you get a free ice cream. Vanilla ice cream we got tasted the best out of everything we ordered. Let me start with my food: Rock hard, bone dry beef I've ever tasted in my life. I thought I was eating days-old beef jerky. Beef had no flavor whatsoever. I seriously thought if the kitchen gave me days old beef for some reason. "Steamed Seasonal Veggies" tasted like heated up frozen veggies from grocery store. Roasted Corn was fine. "Hot" sauce drizzled on top of my dish was too tangy and sour, which overwhelmed the experience altogether. I left almost entire dish, but took it home thinking 1) I'm going to pick out and throw all the beef pieces because they are nasty and 2) I'm going to add real vegetables and other seasoning to revive this dish. If we're not enjoying meals like this while we're tripping, I'm not going! My husband and I are visiting from New Jersey, and we found Peri Peri Bistro. We also ordered white and orange sauces - just to sample the flavors. He sipped on sweet tea, while I enjoyed a nice refreshing Pepsi. I absolutely love trying new flavors, and I was really excited to dig into our food. First off, I have to say how much I appreciate that they serve their meals on real dishes with silverware--it really adds to the experience! The corn was incredibly sweet and flavorful, reminding me of street corn. It paired perfectly with the jasmine rice, especially with a sprinkle of the orange sauce for that extra kick! If you like Ranch dressing, I suggest the white sauce, but I really didn't need it. Honestly, I can't rave enough about how delicious everything was--trust me, it was that good! I have been here twice now and I'm only sorry I didn't try it sooner! The food is SO good, and each time the service has also been spectacular. The staff have been helpful in offering suggestions and explaining what each dish is and the menu with pictures is great too. Both times, I have gotten the chicken tender bowl with island mango sauce. Others I have been with have tried other sauces as well and enjoyed them. I like to add steamed veggies and feta to my bowl and I do mine with brown rice. We also have gotten a large order of yucca and the corn frites. Both are AMAZING. The white sauce that you can get with the bowl or yucca is SO good. It's like a creamy garlic ish sauce. The orange sauce is also good. It's almost like a special buffalo or spicy buffalo mayo, it does have a kick! I ordered 3 pc Fiery Lamb Cutlets (very small portions) which is typical of lamb served anywhere. No sides or a drink is included. I added Cole slaw and Spicy battered cauliflower with Aleppo Pepper. I'm a fan of all things lamb and cauliflower, so it's a winner for me. Everything was delicious! The sauces given weren't needed and I wasn't a fan of them as I'm not a condiments person. I tried FF Chicken twice this weekend taking advantage of their Grand Opening specials. I tried the Tender Bowl with Tango on Saffron Rice with White Garlic dip on Saturday. The portion of chicken was quite good, but I couldn't taste the mango, which is unfortunate because I LOVE mango and it sounded yummy. On Sunday, I ordered the Wing Bowl with Hello Yellow (Lemon Garlic) on Saffron Rice with Chooks dip; when I opened my to go order, I discovered they had actually given me the breast and wing bowl (which was actually a better option for me). The breast and wing combo was ok/good, but I still didn't taste the sauce (LOVE me some garlic). Chooks sauce is a bit zingier/spicier, but I prefer the White Garlic. The food to me is OK/good. I just wish I got more of the sauce flavor as that would have really made it better for me. Both days, I cut up the chicken and dumped the dip on top and mixed the bowl up, so I guess the dip is overpowering the sauce. I would encourage the team to be trained on the options as the Sunday order person didn't let me choose my dip (although it was the one I planned to try). I will likely go back and get the tender bowl at least one more time (as I have a BOGO to use) and try the sauces again. I got try this new spot in Brier Creek tonight. They just opened a few days ago, but it seems like they have a lot of potential! They offer Peri Peri chicken with a variety of sauces. I tried the FF Chicken Rice Bowl and really enjoyed the Tango sauce (wasn't too spicy and had a slight mango flavor). I thought the chicken was well cooked, and I loved how light and healthy the bowl felt. The bowl also came with a creamy sauce on the side, which was great on the rice (and also helped cut the spice on some of the hotter sauces). As an added bonus the owners were very nice and even offered us a sample of a corn side to try out. The sauce was creamy, spicy and very delicious! The atmosphere was also nice inside, clean with colorful murals. They are newly opened (and still making adjustments in some ways), but this seems like it might be a promising more local and non chain spot for healthier food in Brier Creek. read more

We decided to try something new out instead of the regular jaunts in the Brier Creek area. Big mistake. Not only was the menu so big and not very clear how we should order things (way too many choices create buyer confusion), but they were sorely understaffed for the day/time (Sat early dinner). Once he got off the phone, he had no smile (frankly, he seemed miserable) and was very dry. It almost seemed he was annoyed we had a question about the menu ourselves. We found a table (none were clean) and my husband went to get us some water. The machine was a joke. It was supposed tobe high-tech, but it was NOT intuitive at all. You practically had to jump through several hoops just to get water. It LOOKED like a regular soda achine, but I assure you it was NOT. They apparently had many others have similar issues with it, bc they had a makeshift paper explaining what to do in order to get ice and water. We waited for 15-20 minutes for our food to be delivered to us. The ONLY two things that were decent was I liked the chargrilled flavor since the chicken is apparently grilled on an open flame. I also liked the saffron rice. However, the lemon flavor I chose for the chicken had an odd plastic-like aftertaste. My husband chose the southern cajun seasoning for his chicken. It wasnt bad, he said, but it definitely lacked something. For what we got, two chicken bowls and one side of Yuca fries to share (whih even then we didn't get the correct fries, they gave us sizzlin fries and we didn't want to ask to correct it bc they were so slow and the line was to the door at this point), it was way overpriced at $47!!!! (We even watched three different parties leave bc the wait was so long!) Everything was underwhelming and overpriced with terrible customer service, to say the least. Will we return? The bowls come with your choice of either white or yellow rice, a protein with your choice of sauce, simple green salad and a dipping sauce -- either white garlic or their signature sauce. I ordered yellow rice, the jerk sauce and the signature dipping sauce. Although this is a counter service place their dishes are served on real plates with real silverware which I liked. The decor was nice. The walls were bright and inviting and the floor was some sort of beautiful poured concrete with swirls of color in it. The portion sizes were good, and the jerk sauce had a nice smoky flavor but the bowl was just lacking something. It was kind of plain and dry -- needed a flavorful veggie or beans added to it. I guess you could dump the dipping sauce all over it (they actually gave me both) but the first was similar to ranch dressing and they both appeared mayo based.
