    Long line goes fast

This hole-in-the-wall place is regularly listed as one of the best fried chicken and biscuit places in NC. I originally saw it listed in "Our State Magazine" but could never bring myself to eat here because the photos of their fried chicken on styrofoam plates always look less than appetizing. After 43 years of business, the owner announced the establishment would be closing its doors in August, 2024. The Mayor of Apex reached out and helped develop a plan to keep the restaurant going. Since its reopening in Nov, 2024, it seems to be going strong! I was happy to stand in a long (but fast!) line to place my order! My husband ordered the fried chicken filet sandwich and I had the chicken snack: 2 pieces of fried chicken and a biscuit. The photos can't capture the crispness and flavor of the juicy fried chicken! I think the biscuits aren't the best I've had, but they're still excellent! We will definitely be back. I want to try their blueberry muffins that everyone raves about! There's a drive-through window, too!

Hubby and I along with his brother really wanted chicken biscuits for breakfast. We ended up at Dallas Famous Chicken. We all ordered the white meat chicken biscuit. My brother-in-law added on a steak biscuit as well. I thought the biscuit itself was very good - flaky, soft, buttery, salted well. The piece of chicken was an entire chicken breast, breaded and fried. The breading was tasty. Unfortunately, the chicken breast was pretty dry and could have used more seasoning. Jam, jelly, ketchup were a must. Not the worst chicken biscuit I've had but not the best either. I wished I would have ordered the dark meat biscuit instead. The service was great, the employees were helpful and friendly. The ambiance was old fashioned, southern laidback vibe and the prices were excellent!

Really good home style food for a really good price! Only open till 2pm. Was surprised how clean the place was, including the bathroom!

Huge portions, flavorful, tasty and you don't have to worry about breaking the bank. This should be your fast food alternative to other well know chains that aren't nearly as "natural." I stopped by for a steak biscuit while someone else in my party had a chicken biscuit. The steak biscuit was messy...this is a good thing. Homemade gravy that the tender piece of steak was simmered in in between a homemade biscuit. The chicken sandwich was well seasoned, moist and cooked perfectly. A massive piece on a homemade biscuit. These types of sandwiches require no sides...just something to wash them down with. I was sustained for the next 6+ hours for the low cost of about $6. The facility is dated and isn't much to look at however, consumers aren't visiting for the ambiance - the food (and service) is the attraction. Give them a try and thank me later.

I had breakfast here today and it was very good. I didn't realize breakfast ended at 10;30 and I went in just after that. They didn't have any more scrambled eggs but the young boy cooked some for. I appreciate it very much! That's good customer service for sure! The portions are big...I am sure I got more than 2 eggs...and the bacon was perfect. There's no butter here but they do have honey and several jelly choices. I like the old items they have in the area where you come in. A real down home country environment. This breakfast was Much Better and much cheaper than the new place across the street. I will continue to come back here.

Look at that plate of food. Yeah, it's good to be back in the South. Were the sides probably from a can? Maybe, but this food will heal you. Everyone in the area has probably known about this place for a million years, but i'm sure thankful they exist and want to drop them a note as a certified southern food joint. In addition to this plate of food I also got a bologna and cheese sandwich to go and that was also the right choice. If you want an authentic meat and three experience this place is certainly authentic! Support this local business!

Amazing environment and energy! Everyone speaks and is so kind! Great food, highly recommend!!! You've got to get the blueberry muffins and the white meat chicken and biscuit - heavenly!!!

An original oldie and so worth checking out!

You can genuinely taste the difference when something is made to order like this. Whether you eat it right there in the H Mart food court or take it to go, the quality holds up. My go-to is the Spicy Garlic, which has fantastic flavor, bold, savory, and just the right level of heat without overpowering the chicken itself. The sauce clings perfectly to the crispy exterior while the inside stays tender and juicy. It's the kind of place you go back to again and again because it's reliable. No surprises, no drop-off in quality, just consistently great fried chicken done right. If you're a fan of Korean fried chicken or just great fried chicken in general, Chicken Bee is an absolute must.

The Supreme Sauced Half Chicken is tossed in a special gochujang sauce (advertised as medium spicy). The sauce was sweet, savory, delicious, and perfectly spicy. It truly had the right amount of spice for me! It made my nose run a little bit (in a good way) but didn't blow my socks off. I was able to enjoy the flavors but had a good burn on the tongue. I got rice as my side. It was overcooked and boring, but the chicken was so good I honestly didn't care. I got rice just in case the sauce was too spicy for me and I needed something to soothe my tongue. When I eat here again, I'll get pickled radish as the side!

The crunch rings through my head so vividly, it is almost as if I am eating it at this moment. Now I want fried chicken again. This spot does Korean fried chicken and they do it really well. I think bb.q Chicken can get quite pricey, but the quality of the food is worth it in my eyes. If you want to save some money, I recommend going for lunch. You can have some chicken and fries for a fair price when you get their combo. Otherwise, you have plenty of options for different flavors/sauces for your either boneless or bone in wings. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with most options. I've had the pleasure of trying a bunch of different flavors and there are certainly some stand out ones that cannot go wrong. The original is no frills, straight up savory crunch. It is simplicity at its finest. I also think the soy garlic is good, it has a nice savory flavor that doesn't overwhelm your taste buds. Lastly, the Gangam Style ones have been a recent favorite of mine. Imagine a black pepper steak from a Chinese takeout, that is your flavor. Although the flavors vary between these chickens, the crunch and juiciness reigns supreme amongst all options. bb.q Chicken has other dishes and sides such as their tteokbokki, which I haven't had a chance to try. But when I am here, I already know what I want. You can't go wrong with the best thing in the world!

Overall, I thought it was very tasty - not overly spicy, but it definitely had a little kick to it. My only minor complaint is that it was kind of expensive for the serving size, so I can't imagine getting it frequently, as $15 pre-tax for a small-ish lunch is a little steep for me. Still, I really enjoyed my food here and will definitely be back at some point!

The franchise manager immediately recognized her -- not only by face, but by name as well. He asked how she had been doing and was genuinely excited to see her. As a parent, that absolutely blew me away. This is someone who has worked with countless teenagers over the years and has likely experienced plenty of turnover, yet he still remembered my daughter personally. That kind of leadership and genuine care for employees is rare these days. The manager was just as incredible. A while back, my daughter needed to step away from work for personal reasons, and I encouraged her to have that conversation with him herself. One of the values I try to instill in my kids is taking ownership and learning how to communicate directly and responsibly. When she spoke with him, he was kind, welcoming, and willing to truly listen. He made her feel comfortable, reassured her, and simply told her that whenever she was ready to come back, she only needed to let him know. Then today, when we walked in, he greeted her with the same kindness and excitement. He called her by name, asked how she was doing, and even asked if she was ready to come back to work. Moments like this say so much about a company's culture and leadership. Great food is one thing, but great people are what truly make a business stand out. In a world where many workplaces barely know their employees, it speaks volumes when leaders take the time to genuinely know and value their staff -- especially young employees just starting out in the workforce. Thank you for creating an environment that makes people feel seen, remembered, and appreciated. That leaves a lasting impression. Tara J
