I just moved here and this has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. Great food, great staff! Would highly recommend! So so good!

We were so disappointed with this food. We have been wanting to try it for months and finally went and got it for takeout today and honestly I probably won't come back. First- they claim to be the best Caribbean food in the area and have a Jamaican flag in their IG bio so I'm judging it as that. My husband and I are Jamaican and this food tastes like it was made by an American who had a Jamaican grandparent that they've never met. I understand it's probably some level of "fusion" but.... They DEEP FRY pre-made "Jamaican" patties. This is a key indicator that this isn't a Jamaican restaurant. (When I saw "fried" on the menu I assumed it would be an empanada or something, anything else) I got the honey jerk shrimp Rasta pasta. The pasta was floating in butter or oil and the shrimp was over cooked. The jerk chicken looked like jerk chicken but didn't taste like real jerk chicken. The rice and peas tasted like there was no coconut milk in it. Mac and cheese wasn't good. What was good? The jerk honey hot sauce was incredible! BUT the wings were dry. I'm going to assume that maybe they were just having a bad day (because the reviews here are so good) and give them the benefit of the doubt, but I probably won't rush to try it again. The food was so good! I had heard so much about this place so I had to try it. I got the brown stew chicken and philly cheesesteak egg rolls. Nothing short of amazing. There are so many things that I want to try. The eggrolls were my favorite. The meat was seasoned very well and egg roll itself was so crispy. This place was SO good. Came here on my lunch break and ordered an oxtail rasta pasta plate, curry chicken with rice and mac, and 2 drinks all for just under $50. The portions were huge and were enough for two meals and the food came out in about 10 minutes. You order at the front and then they call out your number. I don't normally drink juices but their huge fridge of different flavors had me interested and I was obsessed with the lychee drink. I loved my rasta pasta- it was super flavorful and satisfying. The garlic bread being pita bread is random but it was good anyways. The curry chicken plate was also great with tender chicken and I loved their mac! I will say that both dishes are spicy- I can take spicy food and I still thought it was hot, so if you can't you might have to be wary of this. However the menu is really big with so many other options to choose from and these plates alone have me sure that everything else will be just as good. read more

There was a sign explaining why there might be a longer wait and were determined. The flavors of the curry sauce were flavorful and packed a small kick. Chicken pieces were plentiful. The rice and peas were well done and plantains were fried just right and created charred bits around the edges. The stew chicken was good, but flavors were less pronounced. I visited this restaurant THREE times within a week. My first time was last Saturday, 2nd Wednesday and was back that Friday. Shame, but when it's good I run it back. The first 2 times I got the stew chicken (comes with rice&peas) I chose cabbage and Mac&cheese for my sides. Stew chicken is delicious, has a little bit of a spice kick, but not too crazy. On the latest visit, I ordered the jerk steak&cheese. The steak&cheese was tasty, but I couldn't really taste anything jerk about it. I would definitely order again, but I would ask for a side of whatever jerk sauce they use. I've given this spot multiple chances--four to be exact--because I genuinely want to support our own. But unfortunately, each experience has been more disappointing than the last. Most recently, the service was extremely slow, and one of the workers was downright disrespectful. My food order was incorrect not once, but twice. On my very first visit, I was overcharged and told to come back the next day to receive more food instead of getting a refund--completely unacceptable. At the very least, some kind of discount or courtesy should've been offered for the repeated issues. I've really tried to give grace, but this kind of inconsistency and treatment shouldn't be normalized. I won't be returning. Here's my first review of 2024! I was online snooping, looking for some good Caribbean food and came across Where is the Jerk on Instagram. My mind is blown and had no idea that we had food this good in the area. Where have I been all this time? Chef, Sheldon, and his team Are cooking up Caribbean eats that you must try. Hands-down a flawless dining experience. 10 or 10. I can't wait to come back again. Matter of fact, I'm just arriving here tonight and it's my second time this week. We've tried more than 10 dishes on the menu and everything we've had has been amazing. This place is booming!!! You know the food is good when you show up an hour before closing and the line is still out the door! I recommend you got at least 30 minutes before you want to eat because the food is freshly made and will require a little patience. Keep in mind this is not a fast food restaurant. The food is well seasoned, the music is excellent, and the location is very convenient for those working in RTP or where Morrisville and Durham meet. If you come to dine within an hour of closing time, please have some alternate options from the menu because some of the more popular dishes like the Oxtail Cheesesteak and Oxtail Rasta Pasta will be all sold out. Anything with Oxtails in it at this eatery will run you $24+, but you will get a nice portion. I'm looking forward to my next trip here for the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls and a few Jamaican Beef Patties!!! The jerk salmon rasta pasta always come out hot and the flavor doesn't disappoint. The service is quick unless it's a lot of people in there. However, it's worth the wait. Chicken Sampler: 2/5 All 3 chicken flavors felt very lackluster. Curry chicken tasted like (only) curry powder was used. No depth of flavor which is usually present in Caribbean dishes. Mac and cheese was alright, as were the plantain. Wings: 4/5 Wings were decent, also a great size. 10 times better than the sampler. Service was a little slow, but they were busy when I arrived so I understand! I placed an online order with a pickup time of 6:55, order wasnt ready until about 7:25-7:30. Overall, I would probably only return here for the wings and might try some more of the other dishes like the cheesesteak or burgers. Definitely will skip on the chicken dinners though. read more

I asked prior to ordering how long the wait was for the honey jerk salmon Rasta pasta and they told me no wait for pasta. I waited 40 min after that for some Alfredo. Came to this establishment 2 times. The first time I came around lunch, the line was long at it took about 45 minutes for me to order. Once I got to the register, they didn't have what I wanted. And had to settle for something else and that didn't taste good at all. The second time I went, I got there at 11:15am. The signs says they open at 11:30am. I ate a few bites before calling it quits. I also ordered a beef patty with cocoa bread, and when I opened the foil I was appalled! Firstly, the patty looked greasy and over cooked, which I guess makes sense because they fry them *angry face*! The cocoa bread was nice and soft which was great but it wasn't cut to even put my patty in *rolls eyes*. I tossed the patty right in the trash, didn't even attempt to eat it. Service - The young woman at the register looked like she didn't want to be there; she didn't greet customer or crack a smile, just asked "what can I get you," at which point I became aware that what I wanted couldn't be ordered, not even an ounce of apology. I was given a receipt with a number and told they'd call that number when the order was ready; ordered at 6:39pm and my number was called at 7:25pm.
