    Brown Stew Chicken Lunch
    Donna B.

The food was so good! I had heard so much about this place so I had to try it. I got the brown stew chicken and philly cheesesteak egg rolls. Nothing short of amazing. There are so many things that I want to try. The eggrolls were my favorite. The meat was seasoned very well and egg roll itself was so crispy. It came with two sauces...amazing sweet chili sauce and a jerk sauce....both sauces paired well with the eggrolls. The brown stew chicken was great as well. Nice job!

Jerk chicken/oxtail combo with Rice and Peas Mac and Cheese

The best food I had during my weekend in Raleigh/Durham. I got the Jerk Chicken/oxtail combo with mac n cheese. The meal came with one side but for as much rice and peas that came in the box I could have got another side instead. The lemonades are great if you like them on the sweet side.

This place was SO good. Came here on my lunch break and ordered an oxtail rasta pasta plate, curry chicken with rice and mac, and 2 drinks all for just under $50. The portions were huge and were enough for two meals and the food came out in about 10 minutes. You order at the front and then they call out your number. I don't normally drink juices but their huge fridge of different flavors had me interested and I was obsessed with the lychee drink. I loved my rasta pasta- it was super flavorful and satisfying. The garlic bread being pita bread is random but it was good anyways. The curry chicken plate was also great with tender chicken and I loved their mac! I will say that both dishes are spicy- I can take spicy food and I still thought it was hot, so if you can't you might have to be wary of this. However the menu is really big with so many other options to choose from and these plates alone have me sure that everything else will be just as good.

Oh my goodness this place was phenomenal. Probably one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. They mix traditional Jamaican and Soul food phenomenally and not to mention the portions are HUGE! The inside had a great atmosphere with great music and everyone from the staff to the other patrons were friendly. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

First time here and I already want to come back!! The food was so damn yummy!! I knew the second I got there and the line was to the door that the food would be worth the wait and it was. The employees were super friendly and attentive they checked every single order before giving us our food.

Shout out to wheres the jerk In Durham on South Miami Boulevard for having the best Jamaican Food I've had since leaving NYC! I've been searching for an authentic Jamaican restaurant in NC with the classic mom & pops feel of the ones from The Bronx but have come up short everytime. Finally, I've found one that gives me that nostalgic feel of being back home! If you're looking for great service, authentic, diverse and flavorful Jamaican food boasting in the traditional seasonings and spices of this Caribbean cuisine that will feed your soul, head over asap and give them a try! My personal favorite is the Oxtail Dinner with Mac & Cheese, Candied Yams & Sweet Plantains!!!...Don't forget the extra oxtail gravy

    Curry Chicken Lunch Special

Came here one random weekday for lunch. The line I saw as we entered was definitely a good sign. Unfortunately they ran out the Jerk chicken so we settled for the curry and stewed chicken lunch special. Totally forgot to order the patty though. There was a sign explaining why there might be a longer wait and were determined. The flavors of the curry sauce were flavorful and packed a small kick. Chicken pieces were plentiful. The rice and peas were well done and plantains were fried just right and created charred bits around the edges. The stew chicken was good, but flavors were less pronounced. Portions were generous and I love that. Would definitely come back for the Jerk and patties. Coming from Church St. in BK, I'm glad to have found this spot. I saw chopped cheese on the menu too, hmmmmmmm lol

I visited this restaurant THREE times within a week. My first time was last Saturday, 2nd Wednesday and was back that Friday. Shame, but when it's good I run it back. The first 2 times I got the stew chicken (comes with rice&peas) I chose cabbage and Mac&cheese for my sides. Stew chicken is delicious, has a little bit of a spice kick, but not too crazy. On the latest visit, I ordered the jerk steak&cheese. The steak&cheese was tasty, but I couldn't really taste anything jerk about it. I would definitely order again, but I would ask for a side of whatever jerk sauce they use. I've wanted to try the jerk chicken eggrolls, but they didn't have any on any of the days I visited New to the RDU area, so glad to have found this restaurant. Definitely going on my list for go-to GOODTTT BigBackPlates

This was my second visit. They didn't disappoint. Customer service was pleasant both times. I ordered the jerk chicken egg rolls, cabbage & Turkey seasoned collard greens. Delicious. I shared it with my daughter. She loved the collards. Plenty of parking in the plaza. The inside is average but we all know those are the best places. I'm definitely returning for more.

Good food and portions. Get here early or get ready to get in line. The customers don't play about this place! They lined up and the line moves but more kept coming. There is also limited seating, almost picnic table style. Now onto the food. It was good. Not the best ever but no complaints. The house drink were phenomenal! Super duper sweet lemonade and other punches (yes I had more than one). So delicious.

Now that I think of it, they should have cooked my patties in the seasoning they put on the fries and it would have been a lot more tasty. The warmly lit space presents nice aesthetic as you walk into the restaurant. A very chill and comfortable atmosphere. I love the bar and the mirrored wall nestled behind it. The spot is pretty laidback and very clean, but has a bit of a rustic nuance to it as well. I like that. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful towards advising me in making my selection -- with me being a first-timer and all. I kept it simple...I chose the Classic Burger (pink) with pepper jack cheese, bacon marmalade, and as a side, I had to go with the Dirty Fries -- 'cause that's how I roll y'all. About the food: I have to say, the burger was staunchly built and crafted with artistry. Nice and tall with a seriously tasty bun encapsulating everything. Perfectly well-seasoned meat and the first bite was simply delightful. I noticed as I got towards the center of the meat, it was bit less juicy than the surrounding parts of the burger, but nevertheless still tasty. My Dirty Fries were delicious In the end; the experience as a whole was quite delightful and I would definitely like to go there again -- perhaps try a different burger to expand upon my experience with this place. Gotta try out That Bar y'all! I do recommend it for those who haven't had a chance to go by there to check it out.

It was cooked precisely to my specified medium, with a flavorful patty and nice structural integrity throughout. The tater tots were basically as good as they come. Sweet with a little bit of tang and you can definitely taste the seasoning. The crust has the right thickness the right crunch and the right give. The crust could stand to have a little more flavor but overall it was a solid crust. My issue with the food was for $25 on a 8x10 pizza, there should be enough cheese in the mix to cover more than 60% of the pizza. They have a "signature cheese blend" but then 40% of the pizza doesn't get any of it. A bit disappointing. Which gives the value a 2/5 at best. In addition to these two factors I was asked my name for the order when I arrived. The young lady walked off and then I spotted her on her phone in the corner, followed by folding pizza boxes in a different corner. Eventually a gentleman approached with the same question. Wouldn't you know it, my order was sitting right there next to the host stand. Not impressive. The ambiance is a bit pretentious for a place serving pizza which I found to be pretty greasy. The ambiance definitely matches the price so I guess that's what they are going for. The only lot for parking is paid but I suppose that may be the norm for "downtown" Durham. The flavor again was very good, but the value and the competency of the staff are a miss. As a frequent traveler I think I'd explore the other options next time rather than return.

I had high hopes, but there is reason why fries made from fresh potatoes aren't widely offered at restaurants and it's mostly bc they have so much water content and easily come out soggy. And these came out exactly that way - soggy and limp. The chicken sandwich I ordered was a special, limited time offering, and it was also ok. It was advertised as having a slaw on top and that's a strong word for what was served. When I think slaw, I think robust, crunchy veggies with some vinegar bite and while I got a bit of that, it wasn't enough to balance out the fried, savoriness of the breaded chicken patty and bbq sauce. Service was friendly, but I wouldn't say they went above and beyond. I was eating alone at the bar, and I'm usually accustomed to more touch points than I got here, but it wasn't bad. I they checked in more, I may have felt more comfortable bringing up my dissatisfaction with the fries. Beer selection (on tap) was only ok.
