Room is clean and cool (it's July), and the bed is very comfortable. Also, Gail is super nice - highly recommended!

Giving 4 vs 5 stars because I Wish there was some wiggle room in the 30 day cancellation policy. We happened to be on island during a huge rainstorm and the forecast was bad when we took the ferry over and went to worse after we arrived and there were no ferries leaving with wind gusts at 40-50 mph. We would have preferred to postpone our trip but would have lost a significant amount of money. We tried to make the best of it but we were quite miserable and drenched much of the time. I would stay here again.

Immediately called the Hotel and Hotels Tonight to cancel the reservation, impossible to get anyone on the phone at the front desk to answer (you can only reach the reservation line which is off site), finally got a text from the manager Kara the day of the check in asking what time I was planning to check in. When I informed Kara that I was not coming to Nantucket that weekend she agreed to cancel my reservation but not refund my money back to me. I called Hotel's tonight and they agreed to the refund only to find out that the hotel refused to refund the money back. I called Kara back and she said she refused to refund the money back to Hotels tonight and said "we are a small business and we need to make our money", after arguing for hours back and forth with her she then told me I needed to speak to her General Manager Alicia Hehir. I called her multiple times and she refused to call me back. Finally I had American Express Centurion call them to dispute the charge and they agreed. This hotel lacks compassion for their guests and needs to be run much better. Their management is not responsive to their hotel guests and lacks sympathy for people who have Covid.

The staff from the maitre d who has been there for ever to the bartenders and servers, all top notch and friendly. I've dined with reservations for more of the fine dining feel, but also have casually rolled up to the bar and enjoyed the more relaxed vibe, but still great food. Again, Nantucket is expensive, but I find that the meal, service and ambiance warrants the price for a fun and memorable night out. Enjoy the walk back into town and soak in the fresh air!

The rate was spectacular, and the inn was even better, but the restaurant and bar is to die for! 5-star. Where to start? The staff is excellent, professional, exceptionally pleasant, and very accommodating. Our room was huge! Clean. Well stocked. Nice clean bathroom. We had tea in the common room in the afternoon; able to chat with other visitors - relaxing and quite pleasant. The restaurant was to die for. We made our reservation on Resy a week before. Everything was just incredible, starting with a mussel appetizer, cod and polenta/spinach dish, to the chocolate soufflé. The next morning we crossed the street to attend services at Saint Paul's Episcopal. Came back for a quick breakfast down stairs; the coffee was top-shelf, eggs perfectly made, and fresh fruit - can't beat any of that. We left our bag at the Inn, and went in town to shop, sip coffee, and take it all in. Picked up our bag and dropped it off at the Hyline building. Had lunch with local friends at Brant Point. The day, hotel, dinner, church, and lunch was all serendipitous. No negatives. Ship's Inn is one of the absolute best and well known inn and restaurant on the island.

Upon arrival, after Angel handles everything from the ferry, you are greeted by Fulya who is maybe the sweetest woman you will ever meet. Unfortunately you cant take her home with you, but she will make your stay as easy and convenient as possible. Unfortunately, my wife got a stomach bug on our trip, and because the concierge car was unavailable, Kate insisted that I use her PERSONAL vehicle to run to the pharmacy. If all of that isn't enough you have John, the head bartender, who not only makes one heck of an espresso martini, he works the bar like an ace! Again, 42 and I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit, but the level of service that we received at the Nantucket Hotel, not only rivals, but surpasses any 5-star resort that we've ever stayed at. I have been coming to the Island since I was in the 6th grade and I will never go back without staying here. Angel, Kate, Fulya, and everyone else, thank you so much for the level of service and passion for your craft. We cannot wait to come back and really appreciate everything. REALLY SHOULD BE 30 STARS. Simply the best experience.

We also had access to the Breeze restaurant close by and easy walking access to the beaches near the harbor. The Carlise is immaculately clean and well decorated. It had a very comfortable living area and dining area as well as a gas firepit and plenty of seating outside. There were also places to safely store our bikes. Rooms are spacious, very pretty, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The in-room wine refrigerator got plenty of use. The owner of the inn was very knowledgable and helpful, and also an accomplished woman and great conversationalist. We would definitely return to the Carlise.

Cute inn, great location! Must be able to go up lots of stairs to stay here…read more We enjoyed our stay at the inn and the fact that we chose a king room with our own spacious bathroom. It's very old and creaky, so I would definitely recommend a room on the top floor, although the stairs are tight so getting luggage up is tricky. The breakfast was a nice touch. Keurig coffee all-day. Cookies at night. Service was friendly and attentive. My one BIG complaint is the lack of blackout curtains. It was painful to be woken up with the sun every morning. They should offer masks, if they aren't going to add these.

The Inn Keeper Kara was fabulous. She made sure everyone was taken care of and had everything they needed for their stay as well as provided recommendations on where to go and things to do/see. It's tucked away on a quiet street but minutes from all of the action downtown. All of our favorite restaurants and stores were under a 10 minute walk away. The inn has so much character and was recently remodeled so it feels clean, fresh and cozy. The common spaces are just lovely and we loved the outdoor seating areas that collected sunshine. Our room (the king petite) was impeccably clean, spacious and beautiful. We had a in-suite coffee maker, water, a steamer, plenty of hangers, slippers, robes, a hair dryer and lovely restroom amenities - they have Malin + Goetz products. The towels, bedding and mattress all felt luxurious. There's a community refrigerator available, reading materials and an ice machine. They have beach chairs and towels. The daily continental breakfast was so lovely and had different items each day. They have coffee, tea, water, sodas and snacks available 24/7. In the evenings, they set out little treats for guests to enjoy. The manager of the inn, Kara, was truly such a JOY to speak with and made sure we had everything we needed. She felt like family and made our stay even more memorable. Overall, we were thrilled with the Sherburne Inn!! Can't recommend it enough. One thing to note, this is a bed and breakfast and not a "traditional hotel" - more of a cozy, home - which we loved!
