This is the third time I have used Perkins and they never fail to deliver as promised. 2021 garage floor, 2023 garage floor, 2025 exterior patio floor. This time it was for covering a 40 year old saltillo tile patio floor outside. Tiles were right up against brand new Trex decking so it was not the easiest job but they didn't damage the Trex and took care to protect everything during the 3 day process. Is zero stars an option? Totally unacceptable customer service. I had high hopes for this company but they blew it before the job even started. Had an appointment for an estimate and no one showed up. After they were one hour late I called them and was told there was an emergency and they would have to reschedule. Fast forward to the rescheduled day and 30 minutes before the appointment they called and said again they need to reschedule. I wasted nearly 2 days of taking off from work for an estimate that didn't happen. If I can't trust them to show up to even try to sell me a service, how can I trust they will show up when the job is supposed to happen? Nope, sorry....you lost a good customer. We met with Juan Arellano of Perkins Custom Coatings in mid-May 2025 even before we could take possession of our new (but 23-year old) home in Fallbrook to evaluate our 3-car garage flooring. This was 5 months after having a SUPERB job done by Juan for a 2-car garage at a Townhouse Rental (also built in 2002) we had in Scripps Ranch. Juan met us at our convenience (we were staying at a temporary rental in Oceanside at the time), brought out his extensive display samples of some 2 dozen flooring finishes so we could pick out the color / style that best matched our home exterior, and gave us a quote on-the-spot that was as expected (~1.5x the 2-car garage job cost for a 3-car garage), so NO surprises. We opted for any extra water barrier layer since there was signs of excess moisture at both edges of the garage, one adjacent to the man door and laundry room inside, and the other near the water heater and where a water softener system had been installed for 20 years. Two technicians did a FANTASTIC job over a 1 1/2 period, arriving on time each day, cleaning up and securing the garage both days. You would think the garage floor was brand new, but only the drywall needing a fresh coat of paint might tip you off. Once our garage cabinets get installed this Summer, you might again think you were looking at the garage of a new custom home! read more

I liked how it turned out but didn't realize it was not going to last even one year before it started to chip. Part of it was in a shaded area. It was pricey not to last more than one yea. Hope they get back to me about what is the warranty and hope they come out to fix it. I have epoxy in the garage (yes, it's a different space) by another company that is about 8 years old that is in better shape. It would cost another couple of hundred of dollars to fix. We also have another groove in the same space that did not have any cracks either. How disappointing! read more

We just moved into a new house and decided to protect our garage with epoxy. Took the time to get quotes from a couple of businesses. Jimmy responded with a bunch of information regarding epoxy and the differences between epoxy and spartaflex. I was impressed with the message from Jimmy as every other company wanted to talk over the phone and I did not have the time during the day as I'm busy at work. He gave me all the info with no pressure. I did some research and found Perkins does quality work. No real complaints from customers. That sold the deal for me. Perkins sent someone to evaluate the floors, gave us a quote and we put the deposit down to get the job done. Alex and Giovanni came first thing at 8am and began the work. I had Perkins Custom Coatings install the Spartaflex coating on my garage floor about 4 months ago and they did an amazing job. I received complements from all my neighbors on how great my garage floor looks. Michael was my salesperson and you can tell that he has been in the business for many years. He's very knowledgeable and was thorough with his assessment of my garage floor. I received two other estimates from competing companies before choosing Perkins and none of them bothered to take a moisture measurement of my garage floor. Michael took a measurement and noted that My concrete had a high moisture content (due to the hill on my back yard) and he recommended installing a moisture barrier before adding the Spartaflex on top. I had a great experience from beginning to end. The crew from Perkins always showed up on time and the job was completed on time as promised. It took two days for my floors to be coated as they had to add the moisture barrier the first day and then base coat and the top coat on the second day. The great customer service doesn't end when the job is complete. I accidentally dropped a sharp/ heavy object on my garage floor when I was unloading my truck recently. I contacted Perkins to schedule a repair and they had Juan (their supervisor) show up to repair the coating within 3 days! Now that's customer service! I'm really happy with the Polyaspartic floor coating that Perkins put in my garage. It looks amazing and it makes spills a lot easier to clean up. For a 3 car tandem garage, Brandon quoted me $2500 which seemed a little pricey at first but after it was done it was totally worth it. The installation took 2 days with a crew of 2 people. They were pretty nice and helped me move some heavy furniture out of the garage on the first day. Then they began to mask off the walls and patch up any spots on the floor. They grinded the entire floor as part of the prep which kicks up a lot of dust. After the initial base coating, they manually sprinkle all the decorative flakes. The clear coating goes on the next day. I have noticed that dirty engine oil that is inadvertently left on the floor for a while can stain the clear coating and really heavy things like the edges of fully weighed down floor jacks can put indentations in the coating. So you still have to be a little careful. However, in general, the coating seems to be holding up better than some DIY kits some neighbors have. read more

We contacted Perkins because we were really looking forward to getting our garage floor epoxied.We've had their number forever and were finally ready to go. You can imagine our disappointment when we called up and it sounded like a party was going on on the other end. A woman answered, but did not initially identify the company or herself. I felt like we were interrupting something. She then put me on hold for 10 minutes. I stayed on because I actually got curious how long she was going to leave me on hold for..... After 10 minutes she came back and apologized for the long wait. She said that the man I needed to speak with would call me back in 10 minutes.....he never called back. Our garage was cleaned out and ready to be epoxied ASAP, not sure how much easier that sale could have been. They came out and measured our floor for moisture but ours was a little high. So they recommend that we ensure there were no problems. We did that and they came back and checked again. It was back to normal and they showed us the samples. We scheduled and we don't currently live at our new house. So they works contacted us and they were able to get in the garage. They were fast and efficient. Came back 24 hours after the initial coat was applied. Then prepped and applied the second coat. Very professional employees and respectful.
