I came in for breakfast on a weekday. They were not particularly busy. I was seated immediately. There must have been only one waitress because it was a little wait before I got my coffee and placed my order. I ordered the Big Country Skillet. This is bacon, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs, cheese, and gravy, all on top of crispy tater tots. Once again I had to wait a bit for the order to come out. I loved the crispy bacon in this dish. The ham was diced small and grill seared. The sausage and gravy topped the egg. All this sat on top of a bed of crispy tater tots. Skillet was garnished shredded cheese. Went in for a meat loaf. Was seated quickly and order was taken. Ordered Noodle soup to start off, waited for maybe 10ish minutes, maybe more, was then presented my meatloaf ontop of mash with little gravy drizzled onto the dish and a side of Mac n Old-asf. The Mac was really dry, my hand touched the mac twice and not once did i have to wipe my hand from how dry it was. The Mac n Cheese at Kwiktrip is easily 5x better. Meatloaf was alright, there was a small strand of hair on the fried onion that came ontop of the meatloaf. Mash was barely touched by the gravy. Stood at the front waiting for 20 minutes, tried walking around to see anyone, knocked on glass, we even tried calling multiple times and the cook in the back told the waitress not to answer the phone. She said "I can't argue with that." They proceeded to talk bad about customers who would call. When we finally got their attention the cook tried lying saying "It's really hard to hear back there." Went to the Manitowoc restaurant for dinner. The waitress was new, wasn't trained, and didn't know anything. The portions were mixed up. Everything on our plates was luke warm. Whatever the so called butter was laid on the vegetable and never melted. The entire meal was terrible and we weren't offered any reduction in the price. Won't be going back. As nice as their desserts are, that is about where the nicities end. For the 4th time in a row now, I walked in and had to wait 5 to 10 minutes to even be seated for 1 person (once for 3 people). After that, I would order a drink which would be served quickly and told my server will come shortly (with the 3 people, we were not even offered drinks, just seated). Upon waiting, each time I went, others would come in while the restaurant was barely busy, 2 to 3 people / very small groups before me. The people who came in after me were served first, and I would have to sit and wait upwards of 30 minutes to even be able to order. There would be 2 or more groups of 2 or 3 people who would come in, order drinks, place food orders, and even get their food before I would even be looked at. The blatent disregard was enough to make me get up and leave, they were lucky enough that I paid for my drink with cash left on the table. I came here out of convenience as I usually do when it comes to Perkins no matter the location, it's never a destination for me so being this one was located just across the parking lot from the Holiday Inn I chose to have breakfast here. I would of made the same choice if it had been a IHOP - Denny's or any other major branded breakfast restaurant (I know they serve lunch and dinner as well but I rarely get that hungry). The positives - they are consistent so you know what you're getting in regards to food choices but everything else is subjective when it comes to cleanliness, service and food presentation. This is certainly not the restaurant of choice if you are looking for a bargain meal, I've always thought the prices are a little steep for what is served. Today's experience: eggs were over cooked, coffee was lukewarm, the fruit was boring, service was just okay and the cinnamon roll was stale, now for the negatives - I'm joking! The service is outstanding especially with server, Carrie, Jessica, Kenzel, Pam and the other servers. The best part of the restaurant is the Assistant General Manager, Victoria. She makes sure the guests are taken care of in a timely and friendly fashion. Victoria makes sure the restaurant is kept clean even during the rushes. We enjoy dining at Manitowoc Perkins when Victoria is in charge. The food is very good. read more

Went there on Thanksgiving 2023 for their turkey dinner. Had this many times over past 20 years and was always good and reasonably priced. This year it was terrible. Price was raised to $15.00+ and sodas were $3.85 each. Food was lukewarm. Half the turkey looked warmed over and dry. The pumpkin pie was like mush. Crust and filling were underbaked. Have been eating there for 25 years...never going back. Doubt this restaurant will survive another year. So sad. read more

I only gave it a 3 star because I thought it was quite expensive, it took awhile to get our order and I did question the cleanliness of the place. While looking at the menu, the pages were stuck together so I didn't see an entire section because of that. I did figure that out and what I ended up ordering was on that page that was stuck. Let me start off by saying we have never had a bad breakfast at the Perkins we usually go to and this is not a location we have ever been to. This was one of the most disgusting meals I have had in a very long time. My husband and I decided to skip breakfast here and go straight for some lunch. He had the chicken breast and green beans (off the 55 plus menu) and I had the grilled tilapia with shrimp. My husband's chicken and green beans came out on a giant plates with one very small, thin chicken breast and a spoonful of way over cooked, canned green beans that were nearly grey in color, nasty!!! It was more of an insult than a 55 plus meal. They must have thought we could see or taste! My meal was just ok. The shrimp and the tilapia was over cooked and didn't have much flavor. The asparagus was again way over cooked and nasty! Like it had been sitting somewhere for days. Why not grill it while you are grilling the fish and shrimp? I don't think I would ever go back to this location, even for breakfast. read more

What in the world has happened to this restaurant?? How far it has fallen! It has been quite a long time since we dined here. We travel a lot and are rarely in the area but eat quite often at the ones in our home in Florida. I ordered the same exact eggs Benedict here and they were not made with Canadian bacon here. Some rubbery slice of tasteless ham covered an extremely dried out and crumbling equally tasteless English muffin; the poached eggs resembled fried eggs and were cooked (hard) well but they did put a scant teaspoon of sauce on each one which was hardly noticeable. Then I had specifically asked for EXTRA crisp hash browns (the menu referred to them as crisp) and mine were neither. White as snow and barely cooked at all. My spouse's meal was an equal disaster. The Big Country skillet was described as "disgusting". The tater tots that lined the plate were cold, the sausage on the verge of rancid and again the eggs way over cooked and this was covered over with a watery and bland gravy that left a very unpleasant after taste. Add to this the extra cost BURNT toast to round out the meal. And now to wash it all down with lukewarm and old and very acidic coffee and you have a meal fit for no one! Our server never once came back by to see how this unpalatable mess she had brought was. My guess is she knew. The bill was dispatched very quickly as she hastily passed by not allowing us the opportunity to express our disappointment. And finally, this was expensive and more so than at our regular place. When we travel back home next time you can be certain that we will definitely skip this place. read more

So we came here one evening recently when we were driving south from Green Bay toward Milwaukee and it really hit the spot. I had soup, salad and a half sandwich. The salad was the best part of my meal: the sandwich was probably too much fried food for me and the soup was underwhelming. But the meal was what we needed. My dining companion got to have breakfast for supper and his food looked good. If only we had bottomless stomachs to try the dessert! But alas we were off again for the evening shortly thereafter. We haven't been to a Perkins for years. Found the place a bit expensive; and their menu is no where near vegetarian friendly. But the other day we got a letter from Perkins that included two 20% off cards. These are multi-use cards good until March. So we decided to give it a shot. We were shown a nice table in a sun lit area. The dining area was clean and well maintained. Our waitress was very pleasant and brought us iced tea in very short order. She asked if we needed a minute to check out the menu. That minute turned out to be 15 as the place was hopping. As I've said before, the menu is catered to carnivores. In a pinch my wife and I will eat seafood, so we both ordered a shrimp dish and onion rings. Our food came at the right times, onion rings first, then salad. Our main courses came out just as we finished our salads and appetizer, great timing! Both of our entrees were well prepared and very tasty. I have to add kudos for their tomato bisque. As we ate, our waitress checked on us several times. She was friendly and attentive, worthy of a 25% tip. We've never been fond of eating at chain restaurants. But on this visit Perkins did us right. I would bet we will use our discount cards at least one more time. read more

The last two visits the wait times just to get the drink orders were over 15 minutes. Both times the hostess working the register was the one that ended up taking our drink and food orders. It seems to me that they need to hire additional wait staff to work the floor. read more

Very good selection of breakfast foods and nice selection of healthy options. This is rare at many places like this. Pastry case of goodies looked delicious but I was full from my egg white omelet and turkey sausage. This is a nice little diner if you are traveling in the area. read more

Poor Service! The waitress/server forgot about me and I never saw her again after she dropped off the food. I had to go to the cashier to figure out how much I owe. I love the pick your own trio...I get the salad, Chicken Noodle Soup, Half Chicken Melt Sandwich. Very filling and all tastes great and I would recommend it to anyone. There are other choices for sandwiches and soups or you can pick a dessert. read more

Slow to no service. We (4) arrived at 8:15 PM. There was a table of 10 already served. So there were a total of 14 people in the restaurant. We placed our order at 8:17 and at 9:23 we still hadn't been served. The table of 10 had already left, and 11 people (including our table of 4) were in the restaurant. When we asked about our food, the waitress said she would check and get back with us; she didn't. I complained to the manager, she did nothing. Other places will offer apps until your food arrives. Both my wife and I have been wait staff. The lack of communication was extremely poor form. I and 61 and this is the first time I have ever walked out of a restaurant. read more

Went to Perkins yesterday, very disappointed. I have to wonder if they aren't under new management. Standards definitely weren't the same. After being seated, there was a noticeable smell of vomit in the air. Very long wait for food, portions small, high prices. In all fairness, I did not order off the main menu - I only ordered desserts. The wait staff are polite, friendly and accommodating. Service was quick, wait time virtually non-existent. I was more than happy with the treatment I received here. Unfortunately, I ordered two slices of pie - unfortunate because while one - the Apple pie with Caramel - was delicious, the other - lemon Meringue - was less than impressive. I loved the apple pie. It had apple chunks and apple puree for pie filling, a lovely crumbly topping, and just the right balance of sweetness. It's not the best apple pie I've ever eaten, but for restaurant fair, it was pretty good. The Meringue on the other hand... my goodness. It was terrible. The lemon filling was still freezer-cold, and the Meringue itself was entirely soft - no crust - and had a gelatin like-texture - thick and heavy. This wasn't a lemon Meringue pie. It was a vanilla jelly and frozen lemon curd pie. I have, frankly, had better off of a supermarket freezer shelf. I was shocked at the contrast between the two. My experience was both a hit and a miss. I just wish I'd eaten the apple pie second. read more

Decided to get my girl breakfast for her birthday here since its what she decided she wanted. I knew this place had a bad reputation but did not expect the terrible service coming my way. Was told food would take 40 minutes to arrive. Food showed up an hour and a half late. Obviously ice cold. Pancakes had no syrup even though i even requested extra. Tater tots were missing completely. They gave me a strange extra box of meat i didn't order. I called to request a refund and was told no because my food order was correct. I laughed and asked to speak to a manager and i was informed as rudely as possible that they were the manager. Is this an episode of Chappelle's show? If i could rate this place lower than 1 star i would. The entire time im writing this ive been on hold with corporate who im now certain is never going to take the call. Thinking if they answer before im done writing ill not submit the review. The only brightside is that perkins will soon be shutting down with service like this and that the manager "anna" will soon be out of a job. We have been regular customers for yrs, but due to a change in ownership/mgmt. this place has gone downhill drastically. Restaurant/bathrooms are dirty, service is hit or miss, wait time for food is long, and food quality is not what it used to be. We ate there the first time late afternoon. We didn't get waited on very quickly but once we did, we were able to order right away and had the salads. Very, very good and even my husband loved his. I had the Cobb salad and he had the chicken barbecue salad. Waitress kept coming back to see how we were doing and took care of us much better after we were seated. We came back for breakfast and were very satisfied with the service and the food. We didn't buy any pies for sweets. Diabetics don't need those types of things but everything looked good! read more

Look guys, I'll just start by saying that if the hashbrowns and the cream cheese pumpkin muffin were battling it out, the hashbrowns would win by a substantial margin. So, there's some good and some bad. Let's start with the bad which is of course, the cream cheese atop the muffin. It was more like some kind of sour cream and cool whip medley or something. What's up guys? Did we run out of cream cheese today? My girlfriend works for Philadelphia cream cheese, so you're not fooling her with this stuff! Anyway, good thing the hash browns came in shortly after and saved the day, like Batman or something. They were fluffy and spectacular and were served with a smile from our slightly socially awkward server. Anyway, the omlet and pancakes were also pretty good and the dishware was tasteful. My husband and I had lunch today at Perkins in Manitowoc. Our waitress was Mary, who started at this Perkins in 1992. She was fantastic! She made us laugh, she gave us special service, she was friendly and made our lunch a delightful experience. We were wishing we could come back again soon. We live in Naples, Florida, so we won't get to be back very often, but this is a great place to stop on the way to Door County, Wisconsin! read more
