The food was alright. I ordered pick up and asked for several condiments, the basics plus extra honey and strawberry jelly. They pretty much gave us condiments that we didn't ask for (no honey and gave me grape jelly). Not a super huge issue. There were a few problems with our meals. The burger as cooked well & the bacon was nicely crisped but they gave me the wrong cheese & added pickles when I asked for no pickles. The southern chicken gravy biscuit was alright too. The gravy was a little bland & the chicken was just two small chicken tenders in between the biscuit. I thought it was going to be a chicken patty. There eggs were also okayish. It was very moist but like watery moist. It was edible but I didn't really enjoy it. We don't have a Perkins around where I live so it is an interesting choice when I decide to visit Perkins. Like iHop and other breakfast chains, you get seated by a host and you can order your food. At the end, you go back up to the counter where you entered and you pay for your meal there. My breakfast wasn't anything special but after a 5 hour trip from VA I did enjoy having food in my stomach. I got regular coffee and a pick your own breakfast option consisting of French Toast, Eggs, Bacon, and a extra side of Sausage links ( not shown in the picture ). It was great eating the French toast with butter & syrup but I didn't find it to be impressed. Bacon is well bacon no matter how it's cooked to me. I'd probably still eat it. Eggs.. well they are eggs scrambled and they did the job right. The links were good too but there was alot of grease on them. That's to be expected when dining here. I did try out their potato pancakes in the past and they were good but I wouldn't get them again as they just reminded me of regular pancakes with more of a chewy texture. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've come to this Perkins. I think I've had one bad experience in years. I usually stick to the same thing and it never goes wrong. I love the steak and eggs here. The steak is well seasoned and smothered with butter garlic that just gets the appetite flowing from the aromas. Our server was absolutely amazing and funny! I am not sure why this place has such a low rating, but franchises typically do. I think Yelpers expect some fancy, unique experience every where they go. Perkins is not fancy, its an old school, small town style diner. But it has classic but great menu choices. The portions are large and the prices are some of the best in town. Our waitress was very personable and attentive. She was the chatty type who seemed to care about the customers at her tables like you would see in a sitcom or movie. If you like good food, low prices, and friendly people, come here. If you need to take fancy pictures and order food that has useless descriptors (like deconstructed) attached to its name, go somewhere else. read more

When I entered the restraint I was not that hungry but when I sat down it only took 3 min. I loved the fast service in the morning. Then when I saw the menu I was surprised by all of the colorful pictures of the food and it took only 3 min to order. After it took about 15.56 min to get to my table. The entire restaurant was incredibly cold because the AC was blasting. The service was subpar; we were walked by by our waiter without a word after waiting about 10 minutes just to get to order our drinks. There seemed to be just one or two waiters for the entire busy restaurant. The food came in a reasonable enough time but was not worth the wait. It was room temperature for the most part, and as you can see in the photo, the gravy on everything had basically jellied from being sat out too long. Nothing was particularly good; it was obvious that the food had sat at the counter for a while before being brought over to us. We could barely finish half of our dishes and we talked to management. They took 20% off of all of our dishes, which was nice and appreciated. It was unfortunate it had to be done at all. I think this place may be under new management because it seemed to be run differently. Some staff were slacking off. Definitely fell off from what it used to be. Likely will not be coming back here for a while. Very disappointing food and service. Edit: 2/4 of us it seems got sick from the food, one of them (me) violently ill. Spent 45 minutes in the bathroom, everything else I ate that day I've eaten a million times with no problem. We left the restaurant and 30 minutes to an hour later, bam severe stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea. Lowers my rating of this place even more. DO NOT EAT HERE. They were crispy and cooked to perfection. My breakfast was very flavorless and the eggs just had cheese thrown on top of them. The english muffins were hard as if the bread was old. Not a good experience. Our group stopped in for lunch. It was busy for a weekday which we thought was a good sign. Our 20 minute wait estimate turned out to be only 3 which was odd. Our waitress- could not give us a recommendation for lunch. She reported that she does not eat here and could not tell us what was good. Really? That is a bad sign right there. I had the shrimp and grits. Being from the North, I never had this dish before and was not impressed. It really lacked flavor and the shrimp were overcooked. So we're here at Kalari for a few days and needed a tasty, inexpensive, socially distancing clean restaurant and was so happy to find Perkins. Perkins was such a good choice, the wait time for a table for less than 20 minutes. My family and I actually made 2 trips here today.. one for Breakfast then later for dinner. Breakfast was delicious, hot chocolate excellent and service amazing. For my family of four, the bill was only $48 which was so awesome. For dinner I had the hibachi fried chicken which was a bit on the salty side but not bad at all. My husband had smothered turkey, mashed potatoes and spinach. My teen a bbq tangler burger which she loved and my lil picky one had chicken strips and fries. Everyone enjoyed their dinner!! Our waitress, Melissa was absolutely amazing. She was warm, caring, friendly and really went over the top to ensure we were completely satisfied. It seemed like she was extremely busy but she did not neglect us in the least bit.
