Absolutely loved my experience at Perks Coffee House! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming -- and a huge part of that was our barista Ady. Her personality is infectious, she's friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the whole visit feel special. Give that woman a raise! On the food side -- wow. The Perks Panini was amazing, seriously one of the best I've had. Perfectly pressed, great flavors, no notes. And then there was the 32 oz carrot cake drink... out of this world doesn't even cover it. I don't know how they packed that much flavor into a cup but I was not complaining. I could drink that every single day. This place has great food, great drinks, and even better people. Perks has officially earned a regular customer. Highly recommend! read more

The only issue I had was the customer service. I came here Saturday the 23rd around 3:00-3:30 PM with 2 friends. The girl at the counter was on the phone before taking our order. She saw us walk in, and it took about 5 minutes before she acknowledged us and said she'd be with us. We honestly didn't mind waiting at first, but while standing there we could hear her personal conversation on the phone. At first we thought it was work related or maybe she was taking an order, but she was actually giving someone directions on how to post photos on her damn IG .SMH. When she finally took our order, one of my friends asked questions about the drink she wanted, and the employee was pretty short with her answers. My friend ended up getting what seemed like strawberry milk instead of the coffee drink with strawberry foam/syrup she expected, so unfortunately her drink was kind of a mess. Me and my other friend got the Seattle Freeze, and that was actually really good super delicious. We sat down and about 10minutes later she went right back on the phone. Another customer came in a couple with their kid and this time she clearly saw them walk in. The customers stood there waiting and looking at her, but she still didn't acknowledge them. Then she says whoever she was talking to on the phone..." Oh...customers just walked in" when the customers had literally been standing there already watching her. This is unprofessional ..customers were not a priority at all. The wait itself wasn't the issue, it was more the fact that she didn't seem to care. read more

3 stars for having lots of seating and really cute ambiance!! However, this coffe house lacked the warmth and friendliness I would expect from a "local coffee shop". My husband and I were not even greeted when we walked in and I had to be the one to say hi to the cashier when I was ready to order. Waited 30 minutes for a panini sandwich when i got it is was burnt and all the insides were burnt and outside of the sandwich. Coffee is TERRIBLE super watery. Wasted $22 i do not recommend coming here. Cool little spot but food and drinks were terrible. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it has the potential to be such a cute local coffee shop. The atmosphere seems cozy, and with a few improvements, I think it could be a great spot. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't the best. When we walked in, we started looking at the menu, but the barista told us it was outdated and that we needed to order from the menu on the wall instead. There was only one barista working, which I understand can be stressful, but it felt like we were being rushed to order so she could get back to making drinks. Personally, I think it would have made more sense to finish the current orders first and then give new customers a moment to decide without feeling pressured. We ordered a hot vanilla latte and a hot chai latte. The vanilla latte didn't really taste like vanilla, and the chai was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. One small detail that could really elevate the experience would be branded cups or drink sleeves. It's a simple touch, but it makes a coffee shop feel more polished and memorable. Overall, I think this shop has a lot of potential, but based on this visit, I'm not sure I'd return. read more

Barista comes overs to immediately answer the phone and proceeds to take their order. Walked out. Do not come to this place if you don't want subpar service and mid coffee. Now that I spend more time around here, I have grown to really love coming here. I come once or twice a month. I see familiar faces behind the counter and they do a good job getting the orders correct. They no longer have the delicious sprinkle cookies but they still have muffins, danishes, croissants, brownies, chocolate chip cookies and lemon squares. They also have Panini menu, I haven't ordered one but my friends say they are delicious. The atmosphere is inviting. The outside seating is comfortable and airy. The Seattle freeze with Carmel drizzle and no cinnamon is my favorite! They have a rewards program for every 10 drinks you order you'll get one free. I ordered a matcha with strawberry cold foam and the drink was not green at all. I tried being understanding until the same barista made an order that included matcha lattes.. and their drinks were vibrant green. Beside the look of my drink, it faintly tasted like matcha. Perks coffee house gets 5 stars simply for being a great place to study. The coffee is so good my go to is a iced hazelnut latte. The drink sizes are HUGE! The first time I went to perks I ordered a large not realizing that I'd get a big gulp sized latte. I had the perks panini it is pretty good I'd give it a 3/5. The service is always great here everyone is very nice! Customers walk in without acknowledgment while employees continue their personal conversations, and when they finally take your order, it feels like they're annoyed to be helping... I understand every coffee shop has its own way of preparing drinks / have special menus, but customers should never feel belittled or spoken to condescendingly while ordering or have questions regarding what they are ordering. I try to support local businesses when I can but when a business doesn't adequately staff their establishment, I just can't. The wait time is insane. One employee behind the counter. And it's not even busy. This is why Starbucks gets all the business; because people can get their order in a reasonable amount of time. I enjoy coming here. The locals are always in and out. It is a charming experience to sit and relax outdoors and indoors here. Their patio area is nice, it feels like a cool cave to chill in. There is plenty of space to bring a friend or two, read a book, and or work on writing a paper for those still in school. In addition the drinks are good. Granted, I come here for a London Fog every now and then. The oatmeal is tasty especially with their toppings... I have not tried their panini's yet but I imagine I will not be disappointed.
