10/10, highly recommend this place! We had the enchiladas and elote pastel, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food and prices were both great! Our bartender, David, was amazing and made the experience even better. Definitely recommend checking this place out! The decoration was beautiful.

This place has a great ambiance. The waitress was very nice and helpful they have great lunch specials.l that are $12.99 My margarita was $17 which to me is a bit expensive for a small restaurant. Also the 3 filet mignon tacos are $32. That seems really expensive!!! My chimichanga was very good. The margarita was good but nothing special.

Food is great here, I've tried both Mole and Suizas enchiladas. Perla Palmoa was made perfectly Bartender was very welcoming and nice. It was our first spot we tried after we moved downtown and he recommend alot of places to also checkout around Santa Ana to explore and eat. Will definitely be back for more food and cocktails to try!

The pan de elote is 10/10.

Honestly , one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in OC, the service is phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our server Karina was amazing and made some fantastic recommendations. I got the short rib tacos and they were so tender and juicy and cheesy, paired with the Guavandia Margita. Everything with so fresh with high quality ingredients. Me and my boyfriend will definitely be back!!!

This is a lovely place nestled in downtown Santa Ana. The staff is wonderful and attentive. They were also great at giving recommendations. We ended up getting queso fundido, seasoned fries, flautas, and mango ceviche. Queso Fundido- The melted oaxaca cheese was light and creamy. The chorizo was savory and incorporated into the dish beautifully. Seasoned Fries- These were served piping hot and perfectly crispy. The seasoning is flavorful. Flautas- The tortilla had a wonderful crisp and the beef filling was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Served with a nice, smoky salsa. Mango Ceviche- This was a delightful citrusy dish! The mango was the right amount of ripeness and the shrimp was fresh. Served with crispy tortillas.

Perla Mexican Cuisine Receives positive reviews for its food, service, and atmosphere. It is a women-owned and family-operated Mexican restaurant located in a historic district. I like their steak tacos, appetizers and street corn.

Service: Everyone who passed was quick to greet us and check in with us, all of them friendly and welcoming. This continued throughout the meal, and it was awesome to chat with so many people. We even got a few moments with Chef Zach, which was a bonus! Ambiance: The atmosphere is dark (as expected) and lively, with the staff taking turns working the turntables to keep the music going. (I loved this little detail.) Food: Easily a 10/10 food experience, though due to the dark lighting, my pictures don't do the dishes justice! Head to their instagram to see better pics of the food. We had the tuna crudo, hamachi crudo, scotch olives, and wagyu tartare. All of these items were incredible, and those scotch olives were a definite standout. Our bartender Scotty was friendly and attentive, and the rest of the staff was awesome too. We can't wait to return for Chrysalis, and we're looking forward to visiting the new restaurant concept as soon as that's up and running! 10/10 experience all around. Well done!!

We went to Darkroom for my fiancés birthday and were slightly disappointed…read more The good: the steak was really tasty and had different flavor components like the crispy chilli and shishito peppers that complimented the meat very well. It was well balanced and the best dish of the night. The scrambled egg agnolotti was delicious as well and was paired with a savory slightly sour sauce what helped with the heaviness. The bad: We were recommended the house made focaccia to dip into the steak sauce but it was served 15 minutes before the steak came out so was cold by the time we needed it. The biggest disappointment of the night was the $29 tuna crudo. We should have taken the description by face value: tuna, tomato water, vanilla nori oil (we thought this might be the flavor but we were wrong. It was just oil), passion fruit. It quite literally tasted like oily tuna in plain water with passion fruit seeds floating around. The passion fruit overwhelmed the flavor profile. There was so little tuna for the steep price (like 3 sashimi pieces chopped up). It wasn't even a high quality cut. Even if it wasn't, the flavor of the tuna was somehow completed sapped - leaving just the texture. The overall pricing for the menu was very steep with small portion sizes but at least the other plates we had actually tasted good. We also appreciated the complimentary dessert that was given for my fiancés bday. The service was great as well. Looking at previous reviews, it seems that the experimental dishes are either a hit or miss

The high ceilings, rustic exposed brick, and massive bar setup make for an electric atmosphere when it's packed out with a rowdy crowd. Their empanadas, lumpia, and burgers are also solid, easy crowd-pleasers to pair with a huge craft beer list or one of their whiskey cocktails. Because the energy is so high during watch parties, service can understandably take a little longer than a normal quiet lunch, but the staff handles the game-day rush really well and keeps the drinks flowing. We took advantage of the Friends and Family menu they provide on Mondays Only from 5:00 to closing. We sat at the beautiful bar and were watched over by Jacob. The wife had some special non-alcoholic drink that was very pretty and tasted great. I went with the VACA Tonic, an icy concoction made with gin. It was super refreshing and a nice way to start. This menu has selected tapas items that range in price from $8 to $19. We ordered the Pan Con Tomate ($8) which comes with sliced toasted bread slices, tomato pulp, a delicious olive oil and a side of sea salt. You take a piece of toast, squirt some of the olive oil on top, then pour on the tomato pulp. Light, tasty and delicious. Next up, the Patatas Bravas ($9). Perfectly roasted spicy potato cubes, slathered with tomato sauce and a garlic aioli. WOW! So simple yet so good. I licked the plate clean. Next up, the Bikini Sandwich ($9). Two small perfectly toasted cheesy sandwich wedges that have Iberico ham, manchego cheese and a hint of truffles. It was really delicious and the special ham was the star of the show. These are great starting items, yet surprisingly filling. I couldn't stop there though and wanted to order some of their famous paella. I decided on the Paella De Carne ($53). This is a meat paella with pork belly, chorizo, blood sausage, duck confit (a leg & thigh), beef cheek, with bomba rice and a garlic aioli. You have to wait about 20 minutes for them to make it but it's worth the wait. It was perfectly cooked and awash in flavor. The special paella pan they prepare the dish in looked well seasoned and I wished I could have taken it home. The menu is extensive with lots of choices to accommodate any palate. The restaurant is beautiful and has a front and back patio seating. If you have a choice, sit on the back patio. There is valet parking for $12, but there is a parking structure right across the street that provides easy access and is free with validation.

And I am SO glad we did because everything about our experience was seriously a 10/10! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing. The gentleman at the front greeted us and escorted us to our table, and right away we felt welcomed and comfortable. Our server, Quang, was absolutely the sweetest! He was so friendly, outgoing, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. He had such a positive energy and really made our experience even better. And the FOOD!!! If I could give it 1,000/10, I seriously would. We tried the Ube Cloud, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Spicy Shrimp Wontons, Corn Ribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, and Filet Garlic Noodles, and honestly, there wasn't ONE thing we didn't enjoy. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. This was our first time at VOX Kitchen, but it DEFINITELY won't be our last. We're already talking about coming back and bringing our family and more of our friends so we can all enjoy it together. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 atmosphere. 10/10 experience. Saltado fries with picanha: fries were deliciously fried so that it's crispy but doesn't get soft in the saltado sauce. The picanha was super tender and juicy! Vox pear salad: a refreshing starter with a healthy bed of arugula on top of burrata and pear. The balsamic glaze really pulled it together! Corn ribs: just finger licking delicious Chifa fried rice with filet mignon: fried rice was solid but didn't have the most wok hey flavor that I usually like. It was a bit too moist for fried rice. Filet mignon was a bit tough, but flavor was good! Garlic noodles with crispy salmon: yummy salmon and yummy garlic noodles (could be more garlicky). I wonder if these two could have been more cohesive together somehow, but both individual parts were good! My friend told me this restaurant's owner had a few other fusion restaurants in the plaza, so I'll have to try those as well!

I haven't been here in ages but out of all the things I wanted from here... it was their butter…read morecake lol best butter cake I have ever had and the star of the show for me! Perfectly sweet and served with dulce de leche, strawberry syrup with fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream.. they all go well with the butter cake. Of course that was for dessert.. but to start for lunch, I ordered the house taco selection which comes with 4 tacos (Korean, steak, birria, and cueva tacos). I loved the cheese crusted tortilla on their tacos, and the cueva taco was my fave out of the four! The steak was dry so it was my least fave but the Korean and birria taco were also yummy! Nice way to sample their different tacos! Their guava agua Fresca was a refreshing drink to go with my tacos. My friend ordered their cheese enchiladas in their cream red sauce. She said it was different from any red sauce she has ever had but she said she enjoyed her enchiladas. Service was attentive and friendly. Each server checked in on us regularly. Came here on a Saturday for lunch and it was surprisingly not busy at all like how it used to be. Overall, the food was just like I remembered and I wish I had come back sooner. I'll def be back again to try other things on their menu!
