This place has a great ambiance. The waitress was very nice and helpful they have great lunch specials.l that are $12.99 My margarita was $17 which to me is a bit expensive for a small restaurant. Also the 3 filet mignon tacos are $32. That seems really expensive!!! My chimichanga was very good. The margarita was good but nothing special.

10/10, highly recommend this place! We had the enchiladas and elote pastel, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food and prices were both great! Our bartender, David, was amazing and made the experience even better. Definitely recommend checking this place out! The decoration was beautiful.

Food is great here, I've tried both Mole and Suizas enchiladas. Perla Palmoa was made perfectly Bartender was very welcoming and nice. It was our first spot we tried after we moved downtown and he recommend alot of places to also checkout around Santa Ana to explore and eat. Will definitely be back for more food and cocktails to try!

The pan de elote is 10/10.

This is a lovely place nestled in downtown Santa Ana. The staff is wonderful and attentive. They were also great at giving recommendations. We ended up getting queso fundido, seasoned fries, flautas, and mango ceviche. Queso Fundido- The melted oaxaca cheese was light and creamy. The chorizo was savory and incorporated into the dish beautifully. Seasoned Fries- These were served piping hot and perfectly crispy. The seasoning is flavorful. Flautas- The tortilla had a wonderful crisp and the beef filling was juicy and perfectly seasoned. Served with a nice, smoky salsa. Mango Ceviche- This was a delightful citrusy dish! The mango was the right amount of ripeness and the shrimp was fresh. Served with crispy tortillas.

Honestly , one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in OC, the service is phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our server Karina was amazing and made some fantastic recommendations. I got the short rib tacos and they were so tender and juicy and cheesy, paired with the Guavandia Margita. Everything with so fresh with high quality ingredients. Me and my boyfriend will definitely be back!!!

Perla Mexican Cuisine Receives positive reviews for its food, service, and atmosphere. It is a women-owned and family-operated Mexican restaurant located in a historic district. I like their steak tacos, appetizers and street corn.

Potentially, what they mean by new Mexican cuisine is similar to new American, but Mexican. Kind of like fusion, but not crossing different cultures. My best guess is they take regular Mexican food, but put their own unique riff on it (ie. If it…

Carlos took amazing care of us from start to finish--super friendly, attentive, and just has a great overall vibe. He greeted us right away, prepared our drinks himself, and kept checking in to make sure everything was perfect without ever being overbearing. I'll definitely be coming back!

My friends and I had plans to go to ZAMA and found out it was closed so we had to find a new place…read more We ended up here just based off the pictures. Let's start with the margarita I got, I did not taste any alcohol in it (and I cannot have strong drinks! So that can tell you a lot) not worth $18. We basically paid for an expensive agua fresca! Then I ordered the carne asada skewers. The first bite was okay, not very flavorful, but I thought I could just finish it. As I go through the meat, I notice so much fat and very little meat. I grab another piece and bite into it, I start chewing and realize that it tasted like raw meat (with a hint taste of raw meat that spent too much time in the fridge) I immediately got nauseous and spit it out on a napkin. I told our server and he asked me what else I would like. I then ordered the fish tacos, he brought it out in less than 5 minutes (kind of fast if you ask me) I try a small piece of the fish and it wasn't bad, I give a piece to my friend and she only got fat. Why is there fat in my fish tacos! I tried to pick through it so I could atleast get full, but I couldn't do it. The server came to pick up our plates and asked me if I didn't like the tacos, I said no but that's okay don't worry about it. I was so disappointed because I was starving. My friend ordered the rib eye tacos and had to pick through it too because most of it was fat. The only good thing that happened was that our server did not charge me for the two plates that I didn't eat. We thanked him, paid the check and left. Unfortunately, this was not the best food and we were excited to eat and celebrate my birthday.

Both were good but we both preferred the white. Queso fundido was good but didn't come with chips so we ordered chips and salsa. Mole tostadidas were delightful, full of flavor. Esquites: the bomb. Super flavorful and we cleaned the plate. Churrosnwere good, but the dipping sauces left something to be desired. A little runny and preferred the hot churro on its own. The cons: the only thing that was a little disappointing was the fact that they served us the end of a bag of chips. While the chips were fine, it was surprising that at a michelin star restaurant they didn't serve homemade chips. Worse still, we got the tail end of the bag of chips. The top of the bowl had regular sized chips but they were just hiding the smaller broken odds and ends that you find at the bottom of the bag.

Food was ok. - Salsa was good but noticed it was really sweet for some reason - We asked for more salsa, spicier, she brought out a small amt of habanero which was also sweet, we mixed it into the salsa we had - Their chef's special: watermelon salad with watercress, cucumbers and jicama, and goat cheese was not great, kinda felt out of place, discombobulated, flavors didn't go together - Had the mole chicken enchiladas w garlic rice and plantains (no complaints) - I got the beef tacos (flour tortillas you get 2, corn you get 3), it was OK, very filling - The guac, salsa and chips was excellent!!! The guac was a very good portion. I took the leftovers home and the guac stayed green (amazing)! Lunch was pleasant. The reviews were positive and social media posts were also pretty favorable. So, we booked a dinner reservation for our family. When we arrived, the first thing that we noticed was that parking was valet only. There seemed to be no way around it. So, we parked in a parking lot down the street. My sister actually drove past the valet and parked the car herself. She handed them the key, in case they need to move the vehicle. The restaurant is small inside and is perfect for a small gathering of friends and family. They have cute areas for photo ops that people like to post on social media. They make use of the space by organizing the layout to accommodate up to maybe 50 guests in total. It's also a bit dark inside as the window shades prohibit a lot of natural light from shining through. The menu consists of traditional Mexican dishes. My niece and I ordered the shrimp. The rest of our family ordered enchiladas. The food didn't take long to arrive and the presentation was great. The serving size for the shrimp was pretty generous. It was flavored with a lemony garlic sauce that was quite tasty. The beans were light and didn't taste like they came from a can. My niece ordered the spicy version of the shrimp plate and said that it wasn't too spicy, but it was good. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. I appreciate the fact that he made sure that I didn't have any guacamole on my plate since I'm allergic to avocado. Many restaurants still bring out my meal with avocado despite me informing them about my allergies. Our server definitely took great care of us! The only downside of Jardin's is the valet parking issue. We don't like having other people park our car as they could ding/scratch it or they might go through the vehicle. Other than that, Jardin's was great. We would definitely come back again because the food and ambiance were great!
