Located inside Fera Anaheim, a DoubleTree by Hilton, this bar/lounge was honestly one of the main reasons we decided to book our stay there. The space is BEAUTIFUL, both during the day and at night. When we checked in on Friday evening they even had live music, but unfortunately I was feeling a little sick so I skipped it and told myself I'd redeem the experience the next day before heading to Disneyland. And I'm glad I did. In the daytime, the patio area is gorgeous--you can really appreciate the firepit seating and the little lake with koi fish outside. Such a relaxing vibe. We came by around 4PM to pregame before Disney and the bar was pretty busy. Huge shoutout to Arvey, the bartender who took care of us during our visit. Not only was the service exceptional, but he genuinely made some of the best cocktails we've had in a while. Sitting at the bar and watching him make the drinks was honestly part of the experience itself. At first we were trying to customize and tweak our drinks because we usually stay in our comfort zone, but after talking with him and learning more about the ingredients in The Peel's specialty cocktails, we decided to trust the process a little more. We ordered the Dragonfly and Playing With Fire, and both were amazing--beautiful presentation, really balanced flavors, sweet and sour in the best way. We're usually not big foam cocktail people either, but this visit might've changed our minds a little. Also, Playing With Fire came with a fun little presentation moment which made it even better. So this place is inside Hotel Fera and there is a self park lot outside. Be sure you get your validation. We came for breakfast on a Saturday am. It wasn't very crowded. It's a beautiful location with lots of windows and a nice outside view. As for the food, it's hotel food I feel like. May be good but over priced. It wasn't my pick so I came for the company. We sat in the back area which can accommodate large groups. Our server was good. They don't have lattes or speciality coffee drinks but you can get it from the coffee bar in the lobby and bring it in. I didn't get end up getting anything from here. My friends who got food said it was good. I just couldn't justify paying $22 for breakfast food. i guess if you are staying at the hotel, it would be good to try. SLOW & EXPENSIVE! Unfortunately, I'm only giving this review three stars as the food was really authentic and tasty. Otherwise, the service is exceptionally slow, staff are very forgetful, and the value of the items don't outweigh the subpar experience. I enjoy eating an Italian dinner whilst hearing some spellbinding musician on his acoustic guitar just like the other guy. However, when you're constantly passed up and others who arrive after you get to order first, there's a problem. My servers were apologetic, but that's not enough. Time was wasted and unprofessionalism seized the moment. The restaurant was clean, had a nice view of the FERA's outdoor pond, and the decor was stylish. The Peel has the makings of a great time, it just falls short. As for my meal, I'd recommend the LINGUINI POMODORO which comes with burrata cheese, marcona almond, and basil pesto. I added grilled chicken for an extra $14. Just the plate, cost $25. Add chicken and it's $39. Again, ingredients are fresh. However, I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're out of options. Came here with my wife and a friend, as it was a good mid-point meet up. Heard good reviews about this place and the pictures looked nice. We went on Sunday for Brunch. While the food was really good (a little expensive) and the service was solid, it's really just a regular hotel restaurant in the near open of the hotel lobby. It was really quiet and there was hardly any music. Honestly, it's a one-and-done for me, but I would still recommend this place to others, especially if they are in the area. The bread is so soft and fluffy and the filling is light with just the right amount of sweetness and pleasant citrus flavor. So good! The Peel Benys- The base is an english muffin topped with habañero glazed pork belly, poached eggs, and orange infused hollandaise sauce, Served with a side of breakfast potatoes. The muffin is soft and the pork belly has a delightful crunch outside with a tender interior. The hollandaise sauce is tasty and ties the flavors together. The potatoes are crisp and hearty. The Peel is located inside Hotel Fera and you can park in the lot just out front, on the side of the hotel there's a few spots you can scan the QR code and pay for, or you can park in the parking structure that's behind and to the right of the hotel. Parking validation is done at the front desk. They have a solid menu of appetizers, entrees and desserts and a very nice craft cocktail menu. It's sectioned off at the south east end of the lobby and feels like a more open space than a standard restaurant or bar and the vibe feels very OC, hipster, upscale. The only downside is the service is not consistent the last two times we've been here. The night we visited, there was a singer playing piano between the bar and restaurant area. I love entertainment at any venue, but the sound was way too loud for indoors and we couldn't hear each other talking. The reason I suggested The Peel for dinner was because I've been able to have conversations with friends and catch up without any competing noise from neighboring tables or crowds in the past. Maybe call ahead of time if there's going to be entertainment and if there's an event in town (Motocross was happening this weekend) to gauge the crowd and noise level before you go. The bar is fully stocked and they have a lot of craft cocktails to choose from and the drinks are consistently good. I had the Como la Flor cocktail this night and in the past I've enjoyed the Fera & the Dragonfly cocktails. The appetizers are great to share with your friends and there's lots to choose from. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and the mini sliders a lot and my friends really loved the chorizo flatbread. For the entree I got the smash burger and it's pretty filling and rich. You get fries with the order and the fries are perfectly crispy and tasty. For dessert we got the bread pudding, lemon cheesecake and lava cake. The lemon cheesecake was like biting a slice of lemon with some sugar. It's definitely for lemon lovers and I enjoyed it. Bread pudding ice cream was good but the bread pudding was alright and you can't go wrong with lava cake. Again, my only issue with the Peel is the service. It's not very hospitable compared to other restaurants I've visited. There was a bit of a wait from when we were seated to when our server showed up. He took our orders, the food and drinks would show up, and after that we didn't see our server for a while, so we were without drink refills and our table had dirty dishes that just sat there. I glanced around a few times and saw no servers on the floor, a server that was not ours that was far away or would try to flag one down for a refill on our waters but they were quickly leaving the area. We were waiting on the check, but just kept talking instead and then finally, when the check came we were in mid conversation catching up. He stopped by a few minutes later, picked up the check and realized we had not put our cards down to pay it and came back and dropped it off again. We paid using Google-Wallet at their point of sale system and sat back down to finish our conversation and the busser asked if he could remove the dirty dishes on our table and said, in a rude tone, "Yeah because we're closed already." We didn't realize they were closed since there was still a large crowd of people at the bar, and he could have said that in a polite way and said thank you for coming, but he made it known he has to set his jars of jam down on the table for breakfast tomorrow. Honestly, had our server come by much earlier and checked on us and left the bill, we would've left before closing. I don't usually think of a hotel restaurant as a go-to for dinner with friends, but this is the only one in a while that I would recommend because the vibe is unique. The Peel is located inside the Hotel Fera. The space is on the main level in the back, and is very open and well lit. There seems to be a cool outdoor area with seating, fire pits, and even a water feature! BAR: The first thing you see is the big beautiful bar. It's a large square shape with seating on three of the four sides. There are TV's on each side, a nice display of bottles behind the bar, and another display of bottles above your head for decoration. DRINKS: They have a dozen specialty cocktails featuring your standard spirits. The presentation on some of these is fun, and there were a handful that I wish I could have tried. You can also order custom cocktails as they have a full bar. There are ~10 options for both red and white wines. They serve 6oz, 9oz, and full bottles. A few of the options are only available as full bottles. There are also a couple sparkling options available in 6oz and full bottles. While I didn't see a beer menu, I noticed around 10 tap handles at the bar. The cocktails we tried: - Como La Flor (Teremana Resposado, Grapefruit, Lime, Lavender-Infused Simple Syrup, Grapefruit Soda, Butterfly Pea Flower Tea - $16.50) - This was really refreshing and wasn't overly tart or bitter. It's a beautiful purple color and served with a slice of grapefruit in the glass. - So Cal Sling (St. George Gin, Luxardo Bianco, St. Germain, Pineapple, Fresh Lime, Bitters, Club Soda - $16) - I was going between this and the Gene Autry, and our server recommended this one. The spirit flavor was there, but not overpowering. Another refreshing cocktail served in a highball style glass with a dried pineapple garnish. - The Fera (Ketel One, Basil, Cucumber, Mint, Fresh Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup - $16) - This was the replacement drink for one that was sent back. The display on this one is fun with some cucumber slivers on a skewer. She said it was crisp and delicious, and really enjoyed it. FOOD: We came with a small group of 3 and decided to order some dishes to share amongst us. We got: - Mediterranean Charcuterie Board (Spanish chorizo, prosciutto, capicola, salami, manchego cheese, point reyes cheese, brie cheese, pickled vegetables, olives, grain mustard, crispy baguette - $22) - This thing is loaded. Great value for the price, they definitely don't skimp on the meat. I do wish there was more cheese, but the ones they included were very tasty. We ended up taking a lot of this one home and enjoyed it on the couch a few days later! - Peel Fish Tacos (Mahi Mahi, sour orange adobo, corn tortilla, citrus, coleslaw, fire roasted tomato salsa, guacamole, lime, chipotle aioli, cilantro - $18) - These were solid. They come with 3 per order, which was perfect for our group size. The fish is grilled, not fried, and has great flavor! - Crispy Brussel Sprouts (Balsamic, honey syrup, crispy onions, roasted shishito peppers - $13) - There was a lot going on here, but it worked! I liked the crispy onions on top, and don't think I've ever had brussels with shishito peppers. - Tempura Cauliflower (Sweet chili BBQ sauce, sesame seeds, scallions - $15) - This might have been the favorite dish of everything we ordered. One of our guests is Gluten Free, so she wasn't able to try this one... too bad! We ordered an extra side of the sauce, which was REALLY good. Would for sure order this one again! - California Hummus (Sundried tomato, cucumbers, niçoise olives, Temecula olive oil - $12) - I only had a few bites of this, but it was tasty. I don't love olives, and it has little pieces of olive spread out on top, which I didn't love. It comes with cute little soft pita pieces, though we added a side of tortilla chips ($4) to accommodate our GF friend. PARKING: There is a self-parking lot that is part of the hotel. You grab a ticket on the way in, and are supposed to get it validated before you leave. OVERALL: We came with a small group to celebrate a friend's birthday, and had a lovely time. The Peel is a gorgeous restaurant within Hotel Fera. Their ambiance is definitely a huge plus, although I did feel like it was super cold inside the restaurant. They have a lot of seating inside and also have an amazing outside area with plenty of seating there as well. The food is was good but the drinks were better. Out of the food, I was surprised that the crispy chcharrón is what I liked best. It was flavorful, crunchy, and I loved the guac that came with it! The chile relleno spring rolls were ok. I didn't think they tasted like chile relleno, but more so like jalapeño poppers. Their drinks were very good. The Fera was my favorite. It had a refreshing cucumber, lemon, and mint flavor. The Como La Flor was also yummy with grapefruit and lime. Although their drinks are on the pricier side, they are beautifully presented. Their breakfast buffet was excellent. This place is a hidden gem! I never noticed it because it is located in the lobby of the hotel! There is ample seating, natural sunlight, and really cute cabana style booths that are divided by chic curtains really cute! Stopped by for lunch, and it was delicious. I'm picky with salmon, and the chef got this one right! Crispy skin, tender, juicy, and great portion size. I was thrown off by the romaine lettuce because it was a "stalk" that I had to cut apart. Tasted great but extra effort was required lol just fyi. Went here with my wife and friends. This restaurant is located inside Hotel Fera. When I pulled up to the hotel I tried to pull into the parking. I had to scan a QR code that wasn't working, so I pulled into the Valet only to find out you get 2 hours free if going to eat at the Peel. So that made things easy. Once is side wait staff was great and friendly. Food was well played and delicious. We will definitely be back. The Hotel has a nice modern feel with super high ceilings and this theme carried into the restaurant, very nice decor. Probably better at night but we were here for a late lunch. Even though they said they opened at 2pm it was a limited menu so I was pretty hungry and to only be able to order appetizers was an upset. But the fish tacos were good and tasty and fresh. The saving Grace for me was the bartender she was very attentive which I appreciated. Now I would give this a 4 or 5 star but I was a bit aggravated by not being able to leave the parking lot. I got trapped in because all the stalls were closed which was stupid, but then I walk back to the hotel and inform them about the issue so he send valet to let me out. That was on a Friday early evening and we were the only one at the restaurant. I was so excited to go back. So I booked a Mother's Day brunch, but this time did not have the same experience. Was very excited about the food and the ambience food was great as usual however, when we got there, we were seated outside (5 of us total). It was a sunny day. There was plenty of seating inside that weren't taken, but they said that those were already reserved. I had asked them if we can move inside so that was OK if it was reserved but then we noticed that people who came after us were seated outside, but then asked to be moved inside and we're granted that. I felt kind of an exception that they wouldn't let us move inside when everybody else after us was able to we were the only ones outside for the next two hours while the inside still had empty seats. And we weren't even able to hear the live music that was going on because that was inside. Of course we booked Mother's Day for the whole amenities that they were offering, including the live music and we had to keep walking inside to get dessert and other items that were buffet style. I was very disappointed that they wouldn't let us move inside and we didn't get to enjoy our brunch as much as we thought we would have. Quick and biased review here, we had a coupon for half-off any appetizer. So we got a charcuterie board and a couple cocktails. For being a starter, the board was robust and filling, ended up not wanting to get an entrée oops. The cocktails I feel were a bit steep on price and definitely tasted watered down, borderline non-alcoholic. The interior ambience and customer service were top notch though. I was looking up craft bars in the area and came across this spot. I didn't think it was gonna be inside of a hotel so it was not what I was expecting when I pulled up. Especially from the outside the hotel looks a little outdated but we had already parked and the reviews seemed good so we came by and we're really glad we did. I wanna start off by saying that the exterior of the hotel does not match the interior. The interior is beautiful from the front desk to the restaurant and especially the bar. I was really surprised because most hotel bars offer and cover the basics. Everyone at the front desk was really nice and greeted us when we walked in. We sat at the bar and met Arley and he took really great care of us. Really knew his menu and everything he offered we loved. I wanted to try the plane with fire but was skeptical about the egg whites and I didn't want it at first but he asked me if it was a dietary restriction or just a preference and I have never had a bartender ask me those type of questions because he really took the time to understand and ask what I wanted and what I was looking for and in the end he convinced me to try it the way it comes with the egg whites cuz he explained a white make the drink a little more frothier and make it a little more full bodied and it was delicious. My wife ordered the dragonfly and she wanted to substitute the gin for vodka and he also convinced her to try it as his. He let us know that he's not a fan of Gin either but that it's an infused gin and it really compliments the dragonfruit syrup well so we trusted him and she loved it! Everything about our experience was perfect! The bar had a cozy and classy vibe to it. From the design to the decorations. We were staying at the hotel and wanted to grab drinks before a concert - and I'm glad we chose to do that here! The menu was descriptive and it was hard to pick a drink; all of them sounded fun. The French Butterfly was sweet, strong, and definitely enjoyable. My friend got the Como La Flor, and the grapefruit taste was refreshing.
