First time coming here & it's arguably the best local deli I've had. I almost don't want to share how delicious this is bc this spot is apparently always slammed. I only hope that they add more headcount because I was a bit hangry after an hour wait for the order. Besides that, it's set in a quiet family and pet friendly community, ample parking, indoor & outdoor seating, and the service is phenomenal too. Love the jazz theme decor & music, such a vibe. I tried the Hey Joe as well as the guru and the balance of these sandwiches are . I can't wait to come back when they have tri tip bc it sells out so quickly

Tri tip sandwich available only on weekends

All I can say is WOW! I came into Perry's today as soon as they opened after a morning tennis session. Right off the bat the customer service was spectacular. I usually go for a turkey club but was easily persuaded to try their tri tip sandwich (I asked for no tomato) available on the weekends only. My sandwich took only about 6 minutes in this empty, spotless, and cool shop since I beat the crowd and I was sent on my way. I was told THIS sandwich would bring me back so I busted open the greasy parchment when I got home and well....i WILL be back very soon. This sandwich was a monster and definitely rich in flavor, the ONLY thing I would change next time is maybe something to cut the meaty cheesiness. Customer service, speed, sandwich? 10s across the board for me. Thank you!!

It's just the best, I eat it 6 days a week now!!!! I have been eating at Perry's over 10 years and it just got to the point I like the sandwiches and the customer service so much THAT I had to ask to work here, don't even get me started on the ambiance, finally I can eat without worrying about vulgar music hitting my subconscious, even the color scheme on the walls make me want to eat without the pressure of hurry and leave, after working here EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER IS AMAZING, every single one clearly passes the vibe check by A MILE!!!!!

All I can say is wow! My brother picked up sandwiches and this is the one I chose. You cannot go wrong, the meat, vegetables, and everything was fresh. Now I know where to pick up my sandwiches!

Ordered a hot joes sandwich. And split a hot dog with a friend. Had dirty jalapeno chips. The owner/manager, and female staff member were friendly and inviting. They make everything fresh to order. Good food doesn't always mean it'll be fast food. Cool jazz artwork around the sandwich shop. We'll have to try to make it on a day they do tri-tip sandwiches, we aren't too crazy about the cold options. But Joes hits the spot.

Edit to my review - Just a note: not live jazz nevertheless wonderful to listen to. Park is located just down the block if you wish to eat and enjoy the views.

Vegetarian sandwich is delicious and stuffed!

Delicious flavorful sandwiches packed with abundant fillings. Good service, and they offer catering platters that are sure to please your guests.

Fresh ingredients made to order, literally. My sandwiches took about 10 mins to make. Thats a bit longer than expected, since they had to heat up the pastrami and sausage. The Hey Joe was good, but really salty. The Tuna Simone was fresh and had great crunch from the veggies, but the tuna could have used a bit more salt and pepper.

A small shop located in Downtown Sierra Madre that serves one of the most excellent sandwiches I've ever had! I got the Chicken Mingus sandwich and it was delicious! They stuff the sandwich with chicken salad and apple slices. The apple slices really added a nice crispness and sweetness to the sandwich. Ingredients were all very fresh and they don't skimp out on the portions. I also ordered a lemonade which was refreshing. I am definitely coming back to try more sandwiches!

Which Wich do you Wish?!?! Hey, don't come here if you are looking for a prefab, cheap processed meat sandwich! This place is ridiculously great and everything is made to order! Because they make everything to order, it takes a bit longer than Subw@y but it is definitely worth the wait! I had the Tri Tip on Sourdough (only available Thursday to Saturday) it was so good! Bro had the Pastrami No Chaser on Rye and the pastrami was lean and tender. Both me and my bro had Beets by Perry smoothie and it was delicious! The vibe is ol' skoo jazz playing in the background and made it so chill and relaxing. Love this place so much that it will definitely be my routine place to hang for delicious sandwiches!

Friday's are for TRI-TIP I knew I was in trouble the moment I saw tri‑tip is only served Thursday through Saturday so I doubled down, prepared myself, and went all in. I'd heard about Perry's from folks in Altadena, but hearing and tasting are two very different things. Fridays are officially for TRI‑TIP

If you're lucky you may run into the main himself Perry. Very personable and here's a tip. Take his suggestions My go to is the Chicken Mingus. Has a kick to it but oh so good. They also have a great tri tip here as well

Heard good things about Perry's Joint and I decided to give it a try for lunch since I was in the area! I ended placing a pick up order over the phone and the gentleman I spoke with was so incredibly kind! I pulled up 15 minutes later to pick up my order and the inside is super cute. It has this jazz themed layout and a cozy kind ambiance. I paid and picked up my order and I have to say my sandwich was very delicious. I was looking for something light and flavorful and I felt like the egg sandwich hit my expectations perfectly. All in all I highly would recommend checking this spot out. Not only are the sandwiches delicious but the customer service is absolutely wonderful and they are so sweet! 10/10 :)

They still have indoor and outdoor seating. Near open on a weekend, they were not very busy and it was quiet like on our last visit. The lady who took care of us sad that she is the sister of the owners. She was super nice and very attentive. We got the quiche Lorraine and a banana-Nutella crepe again. The crepe had consistently good quality compared to our last visit and is still just as good to comparable crepe places. Still not many places make quiche and of those that do, even fewer make the dense and thick slice pie style MCC makes--which is the good and high quality type. The quiche was actually better than our last visit and while we do not know, it still seeks like they make it on site. You still need lactaide to eat if u r intolerant, but it's definitely worth it. Recommend you get fruit instead of salad with it. Since their food is so rich/caloric/comfort food, we cannot come here too often, but when you are in the mood for a treat, this is a great place to go! Definitely recommend to give them a try!

I've ordered their quiches and sandwiches to go before, and I've enjoyed each item I tried, especially the spinach goat cheese quiche and the caprese sandwich. I've been meaning to try their crepes for the longest time and luckily, I finally found the chance to dine in. I ordered the La Opera breakfast crepe, which came filled with eggs, cheese, onions, and avocado. It had the perfect balance of textures and flavors, with the thin crispy edged crepe cradling the savory filling. I loved how the richness of the eggs, cheese, onions, and avocado all complemented the delicate buttery taste of the crepe shell. All in all, Monsieur Crepe Cafe is a hidden gem and everything they make is fantastic. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Lobster: we enjoyed the Colette special sauce, it was aromatic with the basil, good level of spice, and lobster meat was cooked perfect. Salt and pepper calamari: great crunch, wish it had a little more salt & pepper & garlic seasoning most pieces weren't coated, but the calamari texture had the perfect chew. Crispy vermicelli with beef: loved the crispy noodles and soft beef stir fry textures together, definitely ask for chili oil with this dish, it needs that extra umph of flavor for the noodles. Salted egg yolk pumpkin: I normally love this dish, only wished the outside was crispier, got soggy fast and with how thick these are cut you want the crispy exterior, but flavor was good. Only thing that made me feel a bit "eh" was the chipped plateware they have and continue to use. Service - wonderful! Everyone was so friendly and had nice customer service. They even helped recommend dishes and also share opinions on what we shouldn't order which I loved. Parking - free parking lot! There are a few spaces right in front of the restaurant. If you…read moredon't, you're treated like you "just don't get it," and you'll probably get a few eye rolls from people who act like this place is the seventh wonder of the world. Social media makes this place look charming and delicious, but the second you walk in, you realize you're basically eating inside a Goodwill store with Goodwill-grade food. The dusty piles of random junk, the half-broken chairs, and the sticky, mismatched plastic tables don't create "character." They create the feeling that you're eating breakfast in a dirty hoarder's house. Save yourself the drive and just imagine that instead. Parking is another mess. Weekend mornings are especially bad, and if you don't get lucky, be prepared for a hike. To make things even more confusing, there's a bright yellow rock painted with "Mary's" sitting in front of a nearby parking lot. Naturally, it makes you think the lot belongs to the restaurant because there are no signs saying parking isn't allowed. Surprise. It doesn't belong to Mary's at all. It's private parking, and the random painted rock only adds to the confusion. The drink selection is practically nonexistent. There's free, lukewarm water that you pour yourself into questionable-looking secondhand cups, and coffee with Coffee Mate as your creamer option. If you want a soda etc., grab it from the 7-Eleven-style cooler. Nothing says "iconic breakfast/lunch" like lukewarm coffee/water or a bottled whatever next to what tastes like frozen, microwaved food. The menu is limited, and the food quality doesn't make up for it. I paid $4 for a side of potatoes and got a few burned cubes that were about the size of Legos. The waffle syrup tasted like straight-up Aunt Jemima poured from a plastic bottle. Nothing about this meal justified the prices or the hype. I genuinely don't understand the obsession with this place. It's one of the strangest dining experiences I've ever had because the people who love it talk about it like it's life-changing and magic. So very wrong. It isn't a hidden gem. It should JUST stay hidden. Maybe people from LA just aren't used to real mountain town or country breakfast spots. I've eaten at small breakfast diners in tiny towns across different states that were cleaner, served far better food, and cost less than this place. Stop believing the perfectly edited social media videos and the glowing reviews from people who've never ventured beyond LA. This place isn't magical, charming, or worth the hype. It's overpriced, disappointing, and one of the biggest letdowns I've had in a long time. It is a literal trash heap.
