Update: we went for dinner tonight. Totally worth the price. Best chicken tikka masala and traditional curry I've ever had. The naan was plain but not bad at all. My only reservation is the soda glass is ridiculously small--so you would end up asking for refills quite frequently. First time here. We tried their lunch buffet--$13.99 per person. It's pretty decent with a lot of choices. While I'm necessarily a big fan of Indian food, I do like the ambiance--it's very tranquil with nice Indian background music. I was up until midnight last night looking at Indian food mukbangs and I decided enough is enough, as soon as an Indian restaurant opens I'm going to be first in line to get some. That's what happened. When I walked in it smelled like a regular Indian spot, you can smell the flavors just all through the air. The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked my waiter what he suggested and he asked me if I like spicy... of course I do! So he suggested the Mehti chicken and promised I would love it. So that's what I got, along with Samosas and garlic naan. That food smelled so good y'all; I could not wait to dig in. First time having samosa. I will say, something about it had a after- spicy flavor. It hit me about 3 bites in and I'm here for the surprise spice. I'm not sure if it was the chutneys, or the samosa itself. But it was good and flaky, flavorful and "sopped up". The mehti chicken was real good. First time trying it. The chicken inside was suuuper tender and juicy, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. I wasn't disappointed. If we're being honest though, I was expecting spicy, but on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 3 on the spice scale. It was still good but I wanted more of a spicy feel. Basmati rice is what it is. The garlic naan was good. Just a tad bit too crunchy for my liking, I like my naan with more a dough and chew, but that's up to personal preference I suppose. All in all it was a good experience. Got my food in about 15 minutes, the flavors were good and my 7 year old son even enjoyed it. I'll be back when I have a taste for it. read more

The food was delicious, the service was even better. We were on a date and they brought out our garlic naan in the shape of a heart (which was delicious). They also surprised us with a special dessert which was so tasty and beautifully decorated. I had the Navratna Shahi Korma and it was so yummy and savory (you can customize your spice level). My husband and I decided to give this restaurant a try and we can say we've found a new date night spot. We started the meal with Vegetable Samosas, they were light and flaky on the inside and perfectly spiced. We ordered the bread basket that had garlic naan, butter naan and bullet naan. Just fabulous and it left me wanting to try all of the other flavors on the menu. For dinner I chose the butter chicken and my husband tried the Rogan Josh medium heat. Both dishes were rich and flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the portions were large enough that I have lunch for tomorrow as well. I walked in and sat at the bar as i was alone. I was immediately met by the hostess with some mint chutney and some shaped rice crunch things suited well to not take away from the dipping sauce. New to the place I ordered a rather typical order or mulagatauny soup, naan bread and chicken Tikka masala. I feel it's a good order for me to get a feel for the average dish....like ordering pad Thai from a new Thai place. The chutney was great. The naan was naan...the soup was less than I was expecting but still good. As I was sitting at the bar, a few mgmt types came up to me and suggested a few dishes to add to my order. I simply said yes as it all sounded good. The dish showed up with a trio of colored chicken. A Tikka, a yogurt, and a green. All very delicious. The masala also arrived and was so full of flavor. I ate portions of what I could and took the rest to go. My take away though was how mgmt and others took the time to make sure I liked what I had and also tried to expand my experience. This was a cool atmosphere here. I really like the design of the restaurant even though it was much. The picture on the back wall was the main focus when u come in. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions that we had. The food was amazing. Now I will say the fried rice you could share with someone and still have leftovers. This has become my favorite Indian food place here in GA. I really like that you can tell them the level of spice you would like. So everything doesn't have to be super spicy. I've never had goat before, but it was so tender and delicious! I also had a mango yogurt smoothie for dessert and it was the perfect ending to the meal! Friends from work kept recommending Persis and their Manchuria chicken so I finally went with the wife on a lunch date. Her butter chicken was REALLY good and my Manchuria chicken was definitely worth it. They ask what spice level you want and I went with medium. Very tolerable in the beginning but it builds up as you go. Garlic naan was perfect. Lamb samosas with the cilantro based sauce were great. I have normally gone to Naan Appetit for Indian food, and after this visit I can't pick a favorite. They are both excellent so I will support both equally. The interior of the restaurant however isn't too my liking, it seems like they nearly wanted a sports bar then decided on an Indian restaurant. It's noisy, TV on (I hate televisions in restaurants), and just poorly-organized. Which to be fair could be many Indian restaurants actually in Indian as well, but somehow it feels a bit chaotic. The service is only decent, my waiter was pretty inattentive and distracted. However, again, the kitchen knows what they're doing and it's better than most local Indian food save possibly Mithaas, but Mithaas is rather out of the way and off by its lonesome unless you also need to go to the Indian grocery near it. Persis is also very prompt at getting the food out, whether for dine-in or take-away. read more

Definitely one of the best Indian places around and the best since ive been in DC. I drive about 45 minutes to eat here and it has never been a disappointment.
