I asked some locals for recommendations, I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat Without hesitation, they said NaaN, and when people heard us talking about NaaN, they joined the conversation to agree. I ordered chicken biriyani, as I'm not a fan of sauces. Ah-mazing. It's such a simple dish, but it was bursting with flavor. The only down side was that it wasn't spicy enough. They offered extra spices though! Being a white girl ordering things "Indian spicy" usually gets me "white girl spicy" I wish I knew how to assure restaurants I can handle heat. Visited this restaurant on Christmas Day for dinner around 6:15 pm. It was very busy, as only a few restaurants were open in the city on Christmas. We were told there was a one-hour wait for dine-in and a 45-minute wait for takeout. We placed a takeaway order, but had to wait 75 minutes to get our food, which was disappointing. Since we were visiting the area and staying at a hotel, we asked for disposable cutlery. They did not have plates and provided only spoons and forks. About the food: -Butter naan and Paneer Methi Malai: 4/5 - good flavor and soft paneer. -Veg Hakka noodles: 3/5 - just average, nothing special. -Veg biryani: 2/5 - root vegetables were undercooked and almost raw, not flavorful, and not truly a biryani; it would be better described as pulao. WOW YOU REALLY GOTTA READ THIS!! uber offered 2 4 1 butter chicken. No chicken received. - Naan's response was to write on the receipt "sorry...call uber...". Received rice and and something they called "saag" . Awful, made with frozen veggies from Walmart. Owner called from Florida, blamed it on uber, offered to send the butter chicken. Order placed around 3 pm. Call received from delivery guy from doordash at 8.15 pm. Said i was on a boat and it would take 10 mins for me to be there. Had lunch here while visiting Savannah. The place has a nice, calming ambiance. Service was good as well. The food was truely amazing! I am from Dallas where there are multiple Indian restaueants in each block in several neighborhoods but the food here was far superior. The malai chicken kakab was tender, moist and perfectly spiced. Paneer methi chaman was creamy and delicious. The breads we ordered, missi roti and onion kulcha were well made. Over all, a great experience. Visited this place on Nov 17th, 2025 for lunch. We ordered their veg combo starter which had 2 samosa which was good. It had chilli paneer which was good and the paneer was so soft and well cooked and finally it had Onion pakoras which was crispy and well done. We also had Stuffed Kulcha which was stuffed with cheese and potato in it was absolutely delicious. Sad part is being an Indian restaurant they didn't have chai on the menu. Just a suggestion it would be nice if you'll add chai to the menu I'm sure you'll have a lot of fans for that. Service was nice and the Atmosphere and the ambiance of the restaurant was ok. Service was amazing. We were greeted and seated immediately. There was a strong smell of cleaning products and I believe it was the solution used to wipe down the tables. On the bright side it showed that they are maintaining cleanliness but it was overpowering at first. The food was decent not the best Indian food I've had but also not worst. Naan on Broughton is the only place for Indian cuisine in the historic district of Savannah. The interiors are modern and inviting, and service is quick and friendly. To start off, I ordered the onion pakoras and a mango lassi. The onion pakoras (3/5) were ok, but very light on the spice flavor. They weren't overly greasy or salted, but lacked the flavor profile of a good onion pakora. The mango lassi (3/5) hit all the right mango flavor notes and wasn't too sweet, but was otherwise average. We ordered the butter chicken and naan, and were provided with complimentary rice. The butter chicken (3.5/5) was decent, but the milder and sweeter gravy was only made a tad bit spicier by black pepper when we requested a "medium" level of spice. Naan (4/5) was light, fluffy, and delicious just the way I like it. Overall, grading on a southern state scale, I'd rate Naan on Broughton a 3.5/5, as it does a decent job of filling you up if you're in the mood for Indian cuisine. Since Yelp doesn't allow half stars and prices were incredibly reasonable, I don't mind rounding up my overall rating. Naan on Broughton is a decent option if you're looking for Indian cuisine to mix things up up from the traditional southern food offerings of Savannah. read more

I have had takeout here many times, but this is the first time I dined in, and really it's well past the time where I should have reviewed this restaurant. This is a great Indian restaurant. The food is just outstanding. Every time I come here, I have a delicious meal, and for a reasonable amount of money too, which is not that easy to find in Savannah. Tonight I had the samosa chaat, which was really tasty, full of flavor, crunchy, salty - hard to describe but one of the best things on the menu. I also had the Goan fish curry, which I enjoyed. My husband had the pepper chicken as his starter, which was excellent, super spicy and so so amazing. He also had the Chicken Sukka, also tasty, like Indian-style barbecue chicken. They also have amazing soup, which may sound odd, but seriously, if you have a cold or the flu or whatever, I highly recommend that you order either the chicken and corn soup or the mulligatawny soup, you will start to get better right away after eating it. Both of those soups are some of the best soups I've ever had. The staff is lovely, super polite and friendly, and the food comes out pretty quickly. It's not the fanciest restaurant on the inside, but trust me, the food is so good, you won't care about the decor. read more

I LOVE this restaurant, so writing this review is a bit heartbreaking for me. (The food is amazing, though, so I do highly recommend.) Got seated in the afternoon, before dinner rush, though still relatively busy. 20 minutes later, still waiting... and then the full table next to me (who arrived about 5-10 minutes after me) had their order taken. Both tables beside me got checked on, not mine. Had to flag down host to place order + to get check, and someone else ended up having to get me my check/to-go box. I totally understand busy days and staffing issues, and usually the experience there is good, but waiting an hour for food in-between lunch and dinner was not it :( read more

What a surprise! Authentic Indian Cuisine in Savannah. Superb breads, masala's, tandoori's, staff great & warm. This is the real deal folks.

My wife and I thought that Naan was the best restaurant in Savannah with no room for improvement. We were incorrect. They have moved to a new location on Broughton Street and have outdone themselves. The building is larger and more upscale. A new menu includes old favorites and many new tasty dishes. The staff continues to be excellent. We look forward to many more evenings enjoying their food. It's been four months since I came to NaaN, and I'm still dreaming about their butter paneer and mango Lassi. This was on my bookmarks for my savannah trip and my sister kept delaying our visit because she wanted patio dining for meals, but I knew I had to stop here based on the reviews, so finally the night before we left, we got to enjoy NaaN. We ordered the sampler of the naans, and all were fabulous. There was a clear favorite, though: the peshwari naan with raisins, pistachios, and dessicated coconut. We also ordered the vegetarian sampler with samosa, chili paneer, and onion pakora, and wow! Talk about flavor bombs! The chili paneer was fiery deliciousness. I've already told you that I still dream about the butter paneer. It was warm, comforting, and packed with flavor. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. There was absolutely nothing I could nitpick about it. It was perfection. Maybe by now you're wondering why I chose 4 stars instead of 5. Clearly, the food was a 5. No missteps, and everything was gobbled up. We were blissfully entering food comas when it was time to change my daughter's diaper. We went to their bathroom, and that is why I took off a star. It was dirty and even had a cockroach. I had seen staff enter, so I have no idea why the bathroom wasn't cleaned up a bit while patrons were there. I felt disappointed that a place with 5 star food had such a dirty bathroom. I hope they can fix that issue quickly! I must tell you that despite the bathroom situation, I would still come here again. I would just choose to go elsewhere if I needed to use the restroom. To remind you again of the best part of NaaN: the food was phenomenal. We were blissful. It was such an enjoyable meal with flavor explosions! The mango lassi was creamy and delicious. I love the food at Naan on Broughton! It is scrumptious! This time I ordered the Vindaloo with lamb. Omg, yum! The menu describes it as a spicy tangy sauce. It is just that, if you do not like heat this is not the dish for you. My husband ordered the shrimp curry. It was delicious too. The curry was seasoned to perfection. We ordered the garlic naan. Because their naan is fantastic. The taste and texture is wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu. He answered our questions with ease. He was able to make suggestions as well. We did not have to wait long for our food. When our drinks needed to be refilled we never had to ask. Our server or another staff member would always refill them. The restaurant itself is located directly on Broughton Street. Please keep this in mind for parking. When you look at the restaurant from the street it looks small. Once you enter you will see that it is deep. There are tables and chairs up front and a small bar area. There is a large banquette on the wall towards the back. Some of the BEST Indian food I have ever had, but I also need to say it was some of the HOTTEST Indian food that i have ever had. I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned excessive heat and while I cannot disagree with that, I can tell you some of the dishes I had were just amazing. It is toward the end of the tourist area of Broughton St. Across from the Marshall House and down the street from Leopoldo's Ice Cream. We dined without a reservation but it did fill up while we were there. So the food: Butter Naan - good, not special, but good. Rosemary Naan - really good choice, but messy. Tamarind Sauce - came with the bread, so good I could drink it. Make sure you ask for it. Mint Sauce - another great sauce, has a slight kick Saag Paneer - really good, not amazing but good. Tikki with Saag - wonderful flavor, but was too spicy for my tastes. But it was sooo good I tried. Tikki with Shrimp - AMAZING flavors. The first one came out too spicy, so they made another one and the flavors just rock. Curried Tilapia - another good dish, not too spicy but the wild caught Tilapia was perfectly layered in the flavors. Overall, I found the service to be quite amazing. Nice relaxed environment. Ambiance is very quaint. The server was extremely friendly and accommodating. He made sure to cater to my sister's allergic response to coconut and did a great job of following up to give her peace of mind. I got the butter chicken and we shared the NaaN.
