As a resident of the Elements Apartments, Fire Fitness has made working out impossible in the gym. The main trainer uses up all of the space and treats residents VERY poorly. Residents should always come first. Tired of getting treated like I can't use my own gym. Would appreciate a change and some respect. Multiple time I have received rude glares and eye rolls from the "main" trainer.You are using our space. Really wish they would find somewhere else to train.

The equipment is in fantastic shape and the gym is always clean and organized. They have a fantastic variety of free weights and machines and can accommodate almost any type of training. As other reviewers have noted, the location is very convenient, there's dedicated parking, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! Update after 2 years of working out here. Still *love* this gym. Wanted to add that I've been doing PT sessions (8x a month) with their personal trainers, Jeremy and Andrew. Can't recommend them enough! Both know their stuff, provide excellent feedback, support, and motivation, and something that didn't occur to me ahead of time - they help get the weights/exercises setup, which makes my time in the gym that much more efficient! I do the Power the Active and the Spin classes, in a way a blended kind of Crossfit but one that normal people like me can enjoy being part of. No one walks around in the latest spandex and there are no 'muscle heads'. This is interesting entertaining and refreshing exercise that anyone can do and do it up to any level they choose. I heartedly endorse this gym, its programs are designed by doctors and trainers and based on reality not on fantasy. It's also costs a fraction of the other two clubs i mentioned which were both a waste of a lot of my money. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Alison the owner offers more advanced classes like bootcamp and tabata training, but she's glad to show you how make the moves more do-able so you can get started. When I first started, if I missed a class she'd send me a text - hey, we missed you today, what's up? It was motivation, but not pressure. If you want a fun place to get sweaty, at your level, come join us! The members will welcome you, the instructors will help you (if you need it) and like Alison says, you get to leave feeling grateful about what your body can do.

First off, the Bellevue location is the ONLY OTF location in the United States that has two fitness studios (2 workout gyms) and three showers! This means there are more classes available than most locations. One of OTF's unique value propositions is a heart rate monitor you wear under your shirt along your chest or on your wrist that displays your data on a large monitor in class alongside your peers'. This data indicates your heart's beats per minute, calories burned, and which "zone" you're in. Grey, blue, green, orange, and red--each signifying your heart rate zone. Because of this, you'll need a heart rate monitor in order to participate, which means investing in your own through OTF. At the end of the class you get your stats emailed to you. When you first arrive, you pick a number and machine: either rower or treadmill. This is where you start. All workouts are different, but generally you'll do a short warmup on whichever station you grab a card for. If you have a row card, it'll also assign you to the weight floor. The weight floor will involve weights, TRX, body weight, and more. The coach will explain the exercises, and then there will be animations of people doing the exercises up on the television screens for reference. Upon completion of your three blocks, you switch with the other group who is on the treadmill. Yes, you will spend about half the class on the treadmill, so be prepared to power walk, jog, or run for that entire time! There's a cheat sheet on the treadmills to help you determine which group to go in, and during that time you either are at your base speed (active recovery), push pace (a little faster than your base to get you uncomfortable), or all put pace (as fast as you can run). The coach guides you through each interval, which is strategically planned to get your heart rate up, and then down. Overall, great experience. Membership here will get you membership at any other location, which is a huge plus. Looking forward to trying more classes!

Wish I knew this in the first class email they sent! I did a core restore class which was a low intensity long duration hold stretching class! Perfect for beginners. The room was just had a very sweaty smell, more than most other hot yoga spots I've been to. You don't wipe the blocks after use, the staff supposedly does it but I am not sure how often they do it. As someone who's afraid of touching other's sweat... I was a little put off. They do wash the floor between each class though!

Plus, I've been getting my muscles back. So exciting! This is such a great fitness program, and the instructors and participants make it easy to be there at 6 a.m., in the cold, dark Seattle fall. Across the board, everyone is incredibly friendly and inclusive. It's not a bunch of brides trying to look good for their big day (which is great! this would be your ticket!); it's mostly fit moms who are committed to long-term health and fitness. I feel closer to my community, which is a hugely unexpected and positive consequence. I've been going 3 days a week at 6 a.m. at the Phinney Neighborhood Center parking lot, and some Saturdays at 8 a.m. at Golden Gardens. And, really, this is good for any fitness level. I could barely keep up the first week, and I've come a long way in the past month. Each workout is different and challenging, and the hour flies by.
