Super friendly service with casual setting. We came on a Fri around 6PM and were easily seated. They have a full bar, wine list and a couple of IPA's. It has been especially difficult to find decent Chinese food in Charlotte and while this food isn't something to write home as the best Chinese I've ever had, it definitely is a good place to go when I am craving Chinese. I got the general tso chicken, lo mein, crab rangoons and fried rice. Everything was good I just wish the chicken had a bit more flavor and spice. I had never been to this restaurant in the past, but I got an email from them and decided I would give it a shot. I got the hibachi steak with grilled broccoli and refried rice. The steak was tender. The broccoli was grilled to perfection. The fried rice was OK too. I really enjoyed the sauce that they had it in. It's delicious. The service was fantastic. I actually ordered to go and it was ready exactly when I got there. It looks like a quaint little restaurant. I've been meaning to check out this restaurant for a LONG time...but wasn't able to for one reason or another. Primarily, because I usually crave Chinese for lunch, and they're not open for lunch. Well, I was finally able to stop in for a super-early dinner recently...and I was pleasantly surprised. The place itself isn't typical of most Chinese restaurants in that it has more of a quaint, classic American vibe. There are even some modern touches, like light fixtures on bar chairs! Also, their overhead music was American. The menu wasn't too extensive, but I noticed that their format somewhat mirrored that of Taipei South...with their choose the meats and rice combos. I decided to try their Kung Pao Chicken & Shrimp, with White Rice. Also ordered their Kung Pao Spicy Edamame and Won Ton Soup. I didn't love the soup...but it's my bad in that I was thinking Sweet 'n Sour Soup when I ordered Won Ton. The Spicy Edamame was great...just the way I like it...and I really loved the main dish, Kung Pao Chicken & Shrimp. It was perfectly spicy and savory...and best of all, so light in flavor! Not that thick, glutinous taste you get from cheap Chinese foods. I could be wrong, but this may be Taiwanese food? Whatever the case, it was very good Chinese food!! Service was really good...very fast, friendly and attentive. Am so glad I was finally able to check out this place (think it's been around awhile?). I was really craving Chinese food the other night and ordered from Persuasian on Uber eats. Since I had it delivered I can't say much about the inside of the restaurant. However, the food was amazing! I read some of the reviews and it helped me decide what to order from this restaurant. I had the general chicken with fried rice and egg drop soup. The other ordered the beef and shrimp lo mein, dumplings, and a side of fried rice. I also ordered extra sides of their spicy chili sauce which was fantastic! All of the food was fresh and came in large portions which made it such a great deal! I will definitely order from this restaurant again soon. Having Persuasion down the street for years this was my go to Chinese spot, but since moving I have been trying so many other places. I thought they deserved a visit, and was happy to see the they were on Door Dash, which was a delivery service I started using during the pandemic. One of my favorite orders was the Moo Shu Chicken, so good. So, recently I was craving Moo Shu and saw that they updated their menu, and this item is no longer available. Ok, I will try something new. I ordered the seared tuna with broccoli. Not sure I would order it again. The tuna was just okay and was crusted with sesame seeds, which were basically raw. I wish they were toasted or something. The broccoli was bland. Overall, I have had some of their other dishes that I have always enjoyed, but the tuna wouldn't be on my list again, and maybe they will bring back the Moo Shu soon! read more

What a cozy treasure ! I stumbled upon this quaint restaurant as my favorite Italian pizzeria was next door. I truly enjoyed my sesame chicken, broccoli with brown rice. It was the right level of flavor and spice. The restaurant has been standing for 8 years and it was filled with local neighbors who had a great sense of community and appreciation for the owners. My husband and I came here for dinner spontaneously on a Tuesday night with my in-laws and my SIL's parents. When we arrived, the place was packed with other diners! Once seated, the owner came over to us to put in our order. We ordered spicy edamame, bang bang shrimp, yellow curry, Thai basil, and a few other items and everything was delicious. You could drive by this place and miss it (as I have for a while) but during this pandemic I've been branching out and looking for other take out options. I've ordered take out about four times now and each experience has been different and good because of their variety of asian offerings. Their hibachi chicken is a bit different (smaller chunks of chicken) and a less creamy "shrimp sauce" but it makes for a tasty meal. Their take out containers have separate compartments so nothing gets soggy on the trip home. The broccoli is very tasty. If your are looking for tofu or your regular Chinese fare, they offer them as well - just don't expect the normal take-out from here. I think they put their own, unique spin on dishes. I'm sure the surrounding neighborhood supports this place, but every time I've picked up, the restaurant is completely empty (good for social distancing) but it has been at this location for quite a while and I don't think it is going anywhere soon. Hopefully after the pandemic, we can all start going out to eat, but for now, this is a great take-out option due to the extensive menu and smart to-go container packing that lasts for more than one sitting. read more

We called and ordered and they do have a few options that they can make gluten free which is nice and super helpful. We did in fact do take out. We ordered Shrimp Pho which is gluten free. Shrimp and chicken Lo Mein combo meal and Crab Rangoon. The Pho was very good. It had good flavor and was very filling. The Lo Mein was just ok. Not as much shrimp in it. There was 5 smaller shrimps and a decent amount of fine cut chicken. We actually didn't get the Crab Rangoon which was incredibly disappointing. We called and we were told our options. We wanted to get refunded but they don't do that. Hopefully it gets worked out but we shall see. Overall it was a pretty good choice for dinner. read more

Persuasian serves up solid Asian food and super service. I recently came to Persuasian for dinner on Saturday evening. The restaurant was quite busy and my group of 4 had to wait for about 15-20 minutes to be seated. The server felt bad that we had to wait so long and was SO nice -- the service here is top-notch. The space contains a cozy dining area and bar and has a low-key yet intimate vibe. We started out with steamed pork dumplings and wonton soup for the table. The dumplings were delicious and the soup was piping hot and not excessively salty like other wonton soups I've had before. The entrees here are quite large, so we ordered 3 dishes to share between 4 people. The orange chicken was absolutely fabulous and I would definitely order this dish again! The Thai basil shrimp stir-fry was also delicious -- I especially loved the sauce. The ginger white wine stir-fry was solidly okay -- unfortunately the sauce wasn't very flavorful. My only other criticism was that some of the vegetables in the stir-fry dishes seemed undercooked. But overall, the food was delicious and I left feeling quite satisfied. read more

I went here for a team lunch for a co-worker's birthday. Any other day, I honestly would have driven right past it. For a 12 o'clock meal, they were extremely fast. I loved that they had a mix of classic Chinese and Vietnamese dishes and pick and choose options. This is so minuscule, but I loved how they brought out our egg rolls before our meal, almost as an appetizer. I also got a salad - although I was sad there was not some sort of ginger dressing, it was still a decent size with a nice, house balsamic. My entree was the ginger sauce with chicken with brown rice. It was the perfect portion, filled with veggies and I still had leftovers. I ordered the chicken and broccoli with brown rice and the pork spring rolls. Honestly everything I had was terrible. I will probably never go back to this restaurant. My chicken and broccoli had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The sauce was very thin, and overall this dish was a disappointment. The pork spring rolls I expected to have some veggies in, it was literally just straight pork which I've never had and did not like one bit. On a positive note, my boyfriend and the chicken fried rice, he said it was pretty decent. Nothing to brag about but good enough to eat. I called in prior to ordering about a few questions I had on the menu and the person who answered was actually super helpful, so the extra star is for that. Persuasion is a quaint neighborhood restaurant with a basic Chinese-american menu (fried wontons, sesame chicken, ubiquitous lunch special with white/fried rice, etc.). My waiter, Chi, was enjoyable and engaging without becoming my buddy--she's a real asset. I ordered the pho after I asked for a recommendation. It was good but I prefer more umami so I amped it with hoison and siracchi sauce. That helped bunches (I think they either don't use or lay low on palm sugar). Either way, I'd order it again. Nice little place but I would like to see more authentic Asian-inspired food, if only as a daily special. I think the neighborhood is hip enough to expand our palettes! read more

I ordered the chicken pad thai and the pork spring rolls. The pad thai was tasty. It had a lot of chicken in it and whole peanuts (instead of crushed). It wasn't spicy, which is fine for me, but if you want some heat you need to request it. One order was enough for two adults. It had broccoli in it, which is different. $10 is a good price and it was worth it. They are quick with their take out. I waited less than 10 minutes. As for the pork rolls, they weren't really worth it. $5 for two where other places give you four spring rolls for the same price. I get it they have meat in them, but they weren't that great. Next time I'll just get the veggie spring rolls. Online ordering was easy. It's pretty nice inside as well, even though the outside of the building is unassuming. Yelp asked if the place was romantic. I answered yes because it is cozy and the servers seem nice. It could definitely be a nice first date spot.
