This place is really bomb. It's tucked away in this little alley off the Venice boardwalk called Gingerbread Court. I got the Ceviche as recommended by the owner and the Peruvian sauce it's in is so good! The bowl looks small but there's actually a lot of food in it and a generous portion of fish, it was actually much more filling than I thought it would be. There's definitely a kick the sauce that doesn't hit you immediately but it kind of builds as you eat it. The owner was super friendly and helpful and he gave us some samples of the dessert, it was some ice cream they make though I forgot the flavor. I will say, the coolness of the ice cream felt really great on the mouth after the spiciness of the bowl. My only gripe is that it's a little on the expensive side for such a casual setting where you're eating with plastic utensils, but hey that's boardwalk prices.

A great spot for a fresh, flavorful meal just off the Venice Boardwalk. I had the ceviche bowl with an Inca Kola--huge, beautiful pieces of very fresh fish that were tasty and plentiful. Everything is made to order with fresh, healthy ingredients, and each dish feels like a small trip to Peru. It looked so good--great presentation. The restaurant is tucked inside the charming Scandinavian looking court, so you'll need to step into the courtyard to find it. The ambiance is calm and inviting, with minimal but lovely outdoor seating that's perfect for a relaxing lunch or snack near the beach. Service was excellent--fast, friendly, and very welcoming. Not the cheapest option, but the quality more than makes up for it. One of the best food finds near the Venice Boardwalk.

If you're looking for a fresher meal while on the Venice Boardwalk, Peruvian Bowl is a great option! It's hidden inside the adorable Gingerbread Court, so you'll need to enter the cute courtyard area first. My friend and I stopped in while walking the boardwalk over the weekend and were happy with everything we had! We loved the outdoor seating, though minimal, and found it really relaxing and nice. I was excited the Peruvian Style Poke-Bowls lived up to the hype for us. The Ceviche Bowl has big chunks of marinated fish which were tasty and that "cancha" corn adds such a fun crunch to the dish! It was great with a mashed sweet potato base keeping it unique. I also had to try the Causa because it's a dish I've never had before! A Peruvian tangy cold, potato dish, it was fun for me and I loved it. The Causa here has a creamy chicken salad on top of the mashed potato base and is topped with guacamole. It was legit perfect beach food. Just the right flavors, invoking just the right feelings to eat looking out on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. There's so much more on the menu I want to try still, great staff and such a nice little area of the Venice Boardwalk - I'll definitely be back! They're open 11am-7pm every day!

This is definitely the best place to eat on the beach, ingredients are super fresh and the food is very refreshing! The owner is extremely nice 10 out of 10 service , atmosphere, and food!

There is nothing like food from Peru and Peruvian Bowl offers some great food with the smell and taste of Peru. You will be very happy you went. The place is on the Venice boardwalk so you will need to park at the end of Washington in the lot for the Venice Pier. Walk for just a bit and you will see Peruvian Bowl housed in a cute super mini mall that looks like a gingerbread house. The place is kept ever so clean and it is just so cute. It is not huge. We get our bowls to go. It is very small. There is lovely outdoor seating. The service is great. The staff is fast and friendly. I have not seen it crowed yet, but I bet when summer comes (it is winter as I write) there will be a line to order. the staff knows the food well and can guide you. All of the bowls are great. All are healthy and made to order from fresh ingredients and all of them will take you on a tiny trip to Peru. We love the spicy tuna bowl which is made with diced tuna in sesame sauce, mango, cucumber, sliced avocado, scallions, and edamame. The ingredients are dipped in a spicy mayo. The ceviche bowl is my favorite with chunks of fish marinated in a great sauce, mixed with sliced red onions, corn, cilantro, and 'cancha' corn. All is served on a mashed sweet potato base. They also have fantastic sandwiches. The chicharron is a traditional Peruvian pork sandwich and the bread is great. We also love the Butifarra which is a great ham sandwich. All of them are good. And you can make your own bowl if you want. I find it all to be a tad pricey, actually, quite pricey for what you get, so we will not go a lot, but we will be back.

Get the Peruvian Bowl. It's a ceviche base with a sauce that is so amazing. Rafael makes the best poke around

I'm so happy a good Peruvian restaurant came into the neighborhood! The customer service here is truly amazing. The workers made us feel like we're at home haha. So sweet and accommodating. The food is second to none. I tried the Lomo Bowl. DELICIOUS! Can't wait to come back to try everything else.

AMAZING FLAVORFUL FOOD SERVED WITH IMPECCABLE FRIENDLY FAST SERVICE. I wish I would've taken a photo of the food, but I scarfed it down. They then brought me a sample of an amazing Lúcuma ice cream that they use for shakes and affogato. I couldn't resist, so I tried the affogato and it was heavenly.

One of the best pan con chicharrón! I really recommend this place great service next to the beach

It was my first time here, and I'm so glad I discovered this place! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and we honestly enjoyed every dish we ordered. The highlight for me was definitely the oysters -- they were so good that I had to order a second round . Another standout was the steamed mussels in white wine and garlic sauce. The mussels were huge, juicy, and packed with flavor. I was also very impressed by the miso black cod. It came with mushrooms in a rich miso sauce that paired perfectly with rice. Everything tasted comforting and well-balanced. Our server was also very thoughtful and friendly. He split the clam chowder into four smaller portions for our group, which made it much easier to share. One thing to note: the seafood market opens early, but the restaurant itself opens at 11 AM. And if you end up loving the fish from your meal, you can actually buy the same fresh marinated fish directly from the market to take home. Such a cool concept!

After this first experience, this place is about a solid three stars for me. I may come back again if in Santa Monica... I am still a bit under the weather and drove here because I wanted some kind of seafood soup. They offer three different kinds of soups which I appreciated! There is NE clam chowder, Manhattan clam chowder and a fish chowder. Since I dont always see fish chowder on the menu, I ordered a small bowl. I wanted a larger bowl and a place to sit down and eat it but the place was packed for lunch and I didnt feel like grabbing a spot at their bar as I needed to get back on the road, so just went with the small (and I am glad I did - read on to see why). They have a funny system here because you only order their menu items from a cashier in the back, but then take a number if you want fresh seafood. I wanted to try their Hawaiian style poke and cashier had me go and grab a number. I grabbed a number and it wasn't busy so I was served immediately. For a 1/4 lb of Hawaiian poke, it was about $9.50. Whats also strange is that I grabbed my soup (did not pay for it in the back), and my Hawaiian poke and then paid up front. Everything came close to $20. I sat in my car, (which thank goodness, this seafood market has its own parking lot, so that was greatly appreciated), and dug into my soup. Unfortunately, the soup was pretty bland and needed a bit more salt. But, I will say that the ingredients used in the fish chowder were all very fresh, and fish wasnt overcooked, but it needed to be seasoned more. Hawaiian poke was great, excellent taste. Overall, a so so experience, I would have liked better scenery to eat my food being I was very close to the beach and wished I had a more seasoned fish chowder. I could be convinced to come back and give it a second try, but I think I might prefer to visit Malibu Seafood which isnt too far from here and has great ocean views.

What a bonus! If you're anywhere close, it's absolutely worth a visit. The sushi here is next-level. You can immediately taste the quality of the ingredients--the freshness of the rice, the fish, and the attention to detail in every bite. I started with salmon and tuna nigiri, plus a salmon roll that was cut into small bite-sized pieces. Honestly, I was popping them into my mouth like candy. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. They also have a great selection of hot foods. Right when you walk in, you're greeted by freshly prepared unagi (eel), which looked amazing. They also offer katsu, and other ready-to-eat items. I grabbed a Spam musubi, and wow--it may be the best Spam musubi I've ever had, even better than some I've had in Hawaii. The Spam still had a slight crispiness, the egg added richness, and the seasoning brought everything together with an incredible umami flavor. What I love most is that the place reminds me of a Japanese convenience store (konbini)--but an upscale version. It's like Tsukigi market had a store in Ginza. You can buy fresh seafood, ingredients to make your own sushi at home, or simply grab a meal and enjoy it there. The quality throughout the store is outstanding. The atmosphere is great too. There's always a buzz of people shopping for sushi or enjoying their food outside in the seating area. It feels lively and authentic. One suggestion: try to get there early if you can. They had so many ready-made sushi trays, rolls, nigiri, and prepared foods available, but a lot of them were already nearly sold out by the time I got there. I noticed a sign saying items are made fresh regularly throughout the day, which is a great sign of how popular and fresh everything is. Still, if you want first pick of all the goodies, I'd recommend arriving earlier. My only real complaint is the parking. The lot is small, and during busy times you'll probably need some patience. I visited on a weekday during rush hour, but once I got my food, it was completely worth it. The drive back to Simi Valley flew by because I couldn't stop eating and thinking about how good everything was. I honestly can't wait to find another excuse to come back. This place is such a treat. If you're looking for high-quality sushi, fresh seafood, delicious prepared foods, and a taste of Japan without getting on a plane, this place delivers.

I spoke to one young man about seeing the manager who looked like he was high on everything, he made a motion about poking his head, and told me, "He might be around that corner". I took a little less than two steps to see for myself and nobody was there. I turn back around and he has his back to me while babbling with his coworkers with no mind for anything. Eventually, a lovely girl finally came to my aid as I awkwardly stood there to find this manager, and she made the worthwhile effort to do that. The initial idiot made a quip, "Oh there he is", and I shook my head. It should also be said that the manger isn't exactly a brain surgeon either. They hire privileged idiots with no mind for common sense for the front and regular idiots managing these places. Their sushi and other dishes also looked cheap showcased under their plexiglass. Avoid this place even if you can wriggle some form of parking.
