I took a different route home today and passed by this taco truck. I've been wanting to try it for forever but I just hadn't gotten to it yet so I decided to finally stop by. Long story short, I only had apple pay but they only take cash and Zelle. I had already ordered so I had to apologize but Brenda (she was the taking my order) was really nice about it. I told her I'll be back another day. Was in my car for a few minutes checking some texts and Brenda come up to my window and said it was on her and she insisted. So so so so sweet. I ordered Ceviche de Camaron but she also came with a bag of chips and asked if my daughter wanted a drink. When I got home and tried the food, Man that was some good ceviche. Yelp, you've done it again. I searched for "fish burrito" near my locale and the La Isla Bonita food truck came up on Rose Avenue. Fish in the burrito was fresh, seasoned and cooked well. It's the best fish burrito I've had on the west side. Additionally, they did not skimp on avocado and it came with a bag of pickled vegetables which was a great palate cleanser. $16 well spent (+$1 tip). I'll be back for more. read more

The Camaron tostada is so good. The seafood is fresh, and you get 5 whole shrimps for $6. We also ordered the Al pastor and lengua tacos and they are solid, but the stars are definitely seafood. No seating, but plenty of street parking nearby for you to eat from your car/trunk. read more

But they also do tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesadillas with your standard beef, chicken, and pork proteins. I already had fish tacos (this was my second lunch of the day), so I chose asada and pollo. They will ask if you want to add frijoles, which is not something I normally put in tacos. These slow cooked beans taste homecooked, adding a surprising but pleasant creaminess due to the soft consistency. Between the asada and the pollo, I would choose the asada again. The ceviche tostada was delicious, and it was an affordable price of 4 dollars! I really liked the avocado that it came with on top. It made the overall texture creamier after you took a bite into your tostada. Additionally, the flavor profile made me think of home. Since this is a food truck, there are no formal places to sit so once you order your food you will either need to find a place to sit or be okay with eating while standing up (I can't recommend this because you require two hands just to take a bite of your meal. One hand has to hold your plate and the other hand has to grab the food so you can bite it). Also specifically when eating ceviche, it is going to be messy and wet so bring wipes or hand sanitizer for the aftermath. Lastly, I like that this food truck is on a street where there are other goodies that you and your company can grab (dessert, drinks or more food). read more

Street parking is hit or miss, since it's Venice. There is usually a small line but it goes pretty quick. I definitely prefer the fish ceviche ($3) over the shrimp ($4). There is A LOT of fish packed on the tostadas too! They come with a couple slices of avocado and a lime. It taste very fresh and refreshing, especially on a hot day. I've only had their asada taco ($2) but from other reviews their carnitas is supposedly pretty good. The tacos here do come with pinto beans on them. Their salsa does have a slight kick. Friends and I randomly found this place on google while searching for tacos trucks near Venice Beach. The food looked good so we decided to give it a try and I must say this was such a mistake. Since then I crave for their ceviche tostadas and tacos all the freaking time. The worst part is I live in Orange County and it takes an hour drive to get here if the traffic is not acting like son of a bitch. Honestly I am not a big big fan of Mexican food ( yup I might just have missed too many good things) and this place has me "obsessed". What did they put in their food? Prior to knowing this place, I used to go to this tacos truck in Santa Ana and refuse to eat tacos anywhere else. But I think I might have to cheat from now on... I love that after having their super fresh yummy ceviche, I can walk around this cute neighborhood, getting my coffee at Bluestone, heading to the beach breathing the breeze in. What's better? Amazing tacos and tostadas for an outrageously low price. We got four tacos and three tostadas for ~$16, and we loved all of them. As many others have said, the ceviche tostada is the standout -- we got it to go, which I regret because you have to assemble it yourself that way, but even with that caveat, it was incredible. We loved the rest as well -- we got two al pastor tacos, two carne asada tacos, a shrimp tostada, and the two ceviche tostadas. All were excellent, particularly with the help of their outstanding hot sauce.
