I've had these photos sitting in my camera roll for quite some time, and I kept telling myself,…read more"I'll leave a review soon." When I finally logged into Yelp to do just that, I was genuinely saddened to see that this place has since closed. It honestly broke my heart, because this was one of those dining experiences that truly stayed with me. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was stunning--beautiful rooftop vibes, warm energy, and a space that immediately made you feel like you were about to experience something special. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully executed, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the care, creativity, and intention behind each bite. The Peruvian inspiration throughout the menu was both authentic and elevated, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the chef herself coming out to introduce herself. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate. You could tell she truly poured her heart into her food. She took the time to explain the inspiration behind the dishes, and it made the entire meal feel even more meaningful. That level of personal touch is rare and so appreciated. Looking back at these photos now just reminds me how special this place was. Delicious food, a talented and thoughtful chef, and an overall experience that left a lasting impression. It's such a shame this spot is no longer around, because it truly deserved all the love and recognition. If the chef ever opens another concept, I will absolutely be first in line. Thank you for such a memorable meal--this is one I won't forget.

It's a small open air space, and it can get full right at dinner time, but if you go right as they open at 5pm, you'll be fine without reservations. The menu is limited, but it's all delicious! The Yuca Fries are a must! Fried and topped with chorizo. All of the sides sounded really good, but these are the best! The thigh meat chicken skewers are perfectly sauced, and can be ordered as an appetizer to be shared by two. All of the main dishes are meant to be shared. The prices are up there for the portions, but it's all a real treat for the taste buds, and the view is great! Highly recommend.

So we always feel lucky when we make it here and can get seated quickly. Every lomo spot is different. Portions are good here and the GREEN SAUCE is SAUCY and THICK! Unlike others that are liquid like water, lack flavor, and isn't that spicy. The green sauce is crack here! The lomo spaghetti is nice and soft and you can't go wrong with the rice either. Thanks so much Alejandra, she def deserves a raise (: the food is also delicious and so amazing!

They do not mess around with their portion sizes! I got the lomo saltado and that could literally be split between three people. The meat was juicy and tender and the fries and onions and tomatoes were cooked very well. The rice was also well prepared. Even though I don't really drink soda, I had to get the traditional Peruvian Inca soda which pairs so nicely with the food. They also start you off with the fresh yummy bread and butter. The staff is very sweet and the service is really good. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. They have a parking lot that is shared with the other business in the strip mall. The place is popular and will get busy on Fridays and weekends especially. But worth the wait.

A true testament to the fact that the best places are found by chance!…read more I've been to Santee alley more times than I can count, today I was looking for something different and I went to a part that I don't normally go to and stumbled across this restaurant and I couldn't be happier. The cutest little hole in the wall, but still has plenty of seating. I noticed the sign saying they've been open for 45 years which really caught my eye. I walked past it 3 separate times while checking out different stores and each time I saw new customers outside, it was never empty, I knew I had to try. 10/10 service! I was looking at the pictures on the wall and not even 30 seconds later, Ozzie (sorry if i spelled it wrong) came out handed me a menu and greeted me. A couple minutes later he came back to take my order, but I am indecisive and needed more time and he was super kind and patient! I ended up sitting at the bar and ordering to go when the owner Juan came out we started conversing. He asked me how I found the place and if it was my first time and he was so kind and personable. I love when owners or managers have this warm energy to them! I paid $13 cash for three tacos (al pastor) which I'll be honest is a little more than I would normally spend on tacos, but they were a really good size, double tortilla, and delicious, probably one of the best i've had in a long time and the service was so nice that I would go back and do it again. The salsa is super hot lol be careful i'm a huge fan of Peruvian food and it's hard to find good Peruvian food in this area so I will definitely be back to try the ceviche!!

Dried bread and dipping sauces were brought while we perused the menu. Our food came quick. First was the chicken soup we ordered as an appetizer. It was delicious! Warning - the red salsa side dish is super hot. We tested it first, added a small splash, and loved it. Next was a sliced beef and marinated onion sandwich. It was well filled and really tasty, our favorite of the night. The green salsa that comes with it is a perfect compliment - savory and spicy like a molé, but not too hot. We will order this again. Then came the beef heart, not a dish for everyone, but a personal favorite. Seasoned with a great dry rub and cooked on wood skewers, it was on par with the best yakitori I have ever had. What made it even better, however, were the sides. The hominy was perfectly chewy and seasoned. Mixed with the green salad, the potato chunks, and some of the green and white dipping sauces, well, it was an excellent compliment to the dense beefiness of the roasted heart chunks. OTOH, the salsa that comes with the beef heart, while full of chopped scallions and such, was far too sour for my taste. It was like pure lime juice. I tasted it and set it aside, only adding a few bits into my mix of sides. The final nice touch was the price. Total for three dishes was $40 before tax and tip. We will be back. The closest public parking lot is a couple blocks to the north, but we found a metered spot right out front. I didn't like that the meter needed a credit card or app, but that's the way things are going.

The portions were quite generous making the food great for sharing. They also provide complimentary toasted bread and great dipping sauces. What I tried: - Fried yucca - a classic and great way to start the meal - Arroz chaufa de mariscos - shrimp, squid, mussels and fried rice. This was yummy and easily large enough to share. However, the rice was a bit too much on the salty side - Tallarin saltado de carne - sirloin beef strips with spaghetti and sautéed with onions and tomatoes. So delicious, but I wish they were a bit more generous with the amount of beef given the price - Causa de Cameron acevichada - smashed potatoes with shrimp ceviche. Only available on Fridays/weekends. Beautiful presentation and tasted as good as it looked Overall a great spot to try Peruvian food in a comfortable, casual setting. Street parking or nearby public lots.
