Can't beat the view looking out at the beach and ocean front -- eating outside in the amazing Southern California weather. The food itself was a mix -- I really enjoyed the flavors of the spices and sauce for the lomo matado. The onions and tomatoes were cooked to perfection. The rice was simple but worked as a compliment. The fries underneath weren't hot so that was a bummer. They did redo them. But by then I was done with the steak. My husband liked his rotisserie chicken a lot. He said it and the sauce were very flavorful. Our server was very friendly as well. Definitely worth checking out if you're wanting a casual beachside meal.
Have ordered delivery and eaten here about a dozen times total, and have had the lomo saltado, traditional ceviche, and beef/lomo sandwich. The flavors, quality, authenticity and freshness are big highlights. Green sauce is delicious! And the new seated option on the boardwalk is a great addition, particularly when you are entertaining tourists and want them to have a Venice experience with great food and table service. Service was great - minimalist but prompt. Food came out very quickly. The reason for 4* rather than 5* is because the lomo saltado can be a lil salty, and the sirloin is less tender and a bit gamey compared to the traditional tenderloin. Lovely spot, recommend coming by here!
Great meal here after checking out Venice beach and walking up and down the side board walk. It's a cute little small restaurant with just a few tables. They also have a pickup window on the side hallway.From the tables you have a view of the beach which is nice. Service was very friendly! I asked for lemon/lime for my water and they brought out a bowl of lime wedges plus green and white sauces for the meal. I ordered the grilled fish plate which came with steamed rice and salad. Fish was very flavorful tender flaky and tasted really amazing!! One of the best fish dishes I've had. Very satisfying and filling meal. The portion was just right. The hubs ordered the lomo saltado which is one of their signature dishes and really enjoyed it. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Others in the group ordered the rotisserie chicken wrap which they liked and the fish ceviche which was also enjoyed. Overall a really great meal. All were satisfied after the great meal.
TLDR: Delicious Lomo Saltado with friendly service. Busy, slightly cramped beachside vibe. Water could be better, but overall a great spot worth trying. My friend and I ordered the Lomo Saltado (Beef Stir Fry) and it was absolutely delicious. My friend mentioned it's hard to mess this dish up, but I still really loved it. The service was kind and attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was busy and a bit cramped, but that's expected for an afternoon near the beach. I do wish they filtered their water, but everything else was great. While I can't vouch for other dishes, the plates we saw at neighboring tables looked just as appetizing. Our total came to $58.04 before tip.
Stumbled upon this place right off the Venice boardwalk in a cute little alley with outdoor tables and a few eateries where you order from a window. We got the lomo saltado and it was not cheap but possibly the best lomo saltado I've ever had :o The person working the window was very nice as well. I can't wait to try more items on the menu when I'm back in Venice beach. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. 10/10
We were very impressed! We are from way out of state and are not as fortunate as the locals here to have as wide a variety of high quality cuisines. We don't miss the opportunity to try something more unique and less accessible to us. That and we were walking along Venice Beach and were hungry. We love a good ceviche, and the fish ceviche here delivered. It tasted to fresh and refreshing, with a really nice acidic spice to it that got a couple of tears out of me. We also got some Peruvian style fried fish tacos. I never opt for fish tacos, but that's because I've never had them like these. These were great, crunchy, fresh, and very flavorful. We washed everything down with the Maracuya (passionfruit) juice, which was delicious and not too sweet. We were nervous this place would just be a tourist trap, given its prime location right on the beach. It was a little pricey, but it exceeded expectations, and we had a wonderful lunch with a wonderful view. The staff was lovely, patient, and helpful. I'd love to come back and try some more food if we are in the area!
Quick service window in Venice. You are sitting outside so be prepared for the wind and gray weather! The fish tacos were 10/10! So light! So fluffy! The yellow sauce took it to another level! Shrimp Saltados 8/10 had great flavor! Kinda messy for a beach day. The rice was hard, but overall delightful!

March 20, 2026 | Friday | Venice Beach Boardwalk | What a fun and continued adventure when I met up with my neighbor once again, as I randomly spotted a colorful looking exotic restaurant! The location turned out to be El Huarique Peruvian Kitchen! What a delicious find that turns up the flavor and definitely the heat! Be careful what you ask for! Haha! Fish Ceviche | Yes, please! Now, at first bite, for some odd reason, I thought the dish was going to be hot, but it was cold and absolutely delicious! Taking our server Mauricio's advice, I tried each item separately on my plate and then mixed it up... Yummy! New flavors had my taste buds doing a happy dance over and over again! Haha! I would absolutely 100% get this dish again! The flavors were electric once combined! Turn up the Heat | Our server Mauricio asked my spice level and I confidently said spicy! He asked if I was sure and I told him the story about me being in India, requesting a spicier version of a dish & the Chef coming out to take a look at me, because he couldn't believe I wanted spicier! Haha! Comedy Hour | I was enjoying every flavorful bite of the Fish Ceviche, when all of a sudden my body started to heat up! I was like, I can handle a bit of spice... And then suddenly my tongue got really warm and I could hardly feel it... Then my eyes started to water... And suddenly I lost focus in the conversation I was having with my friend & the traveler! I could hardly talk, because it was honestly that spicy! Haha! I bet it was also the sneaky little red onions, in addition to the other spices! Help, Please | I spotted Mauricio and asked him if he had any bread or yogurt, because my mouth was on fire! He didn't! He recommended water, which I had already tried! My friend, she recommended plantains, which I had also tried! The traveler ended up recommending the lettuce on my plate, which ended up helping for sure! After a while, my mouth started to cool down, thank goodness! Eye Spot Spice | Just when my mouth started to cool down, my friend accidentally touched her eye, which must have had spice on it! The girl at the next table, dining with her significant other, immediately came to her rescue! I asked our server Mauricio for a cup of water so she could flush out her eye! The girl at the next table told her to rub her eye with her hair... Which oddly helped! Plantains | I can always appreciate plantains, as I love them! They arrived at our table and quite plentiful! I appreciated that the flavor was just the right amount of sweet and savory... Perfect! As conversation flowed easily between me, my friend, and the traveler! I invited him to enjoy the plantains with us, which he did! Fried Rice | My friend, ordered this dish and invited me to share it with her! OMG! I highly recommend, so flavorful and definitely shareable! I happily enjoyed every bite that I put onto my plate! Customer Service | Mauricio was top-tier! He was patient, kind and so much fun to explore the menu with! He really wanted us to have the Peruvian experience, considering it was both me and my friends first time having Peruvian food... as far as I know! Seating | Both inside and outside! We sat on the outside patio! Happy Meeting | While waiting for my friend to arrive at the restaurant, a friendly worldwide traveler, who was currently in town, helped me with the menu! Though his meal included chicken, a dish he frequently orders when he's in town, he invited me to explore the veggie part of the menu and mentioned that the food was really good here! Something made me trust his recommendation and I'm glad I did! We had fun chatting with the friendly traveler! Overall | Oh my goodness! Hahaha! Between the flavorful Fish Ceviche that was too hot to handle, sweet and savory Plantains, the customer service via Mauricio, an extension of me and my friends spa day, & other friendly customers, made for a memorable evening! This rotisserie chicken meal was Delicious!!! I think that word doesn't do it justice actually, it was incredibly tasteful and the sides also complimented delicious. We also ordered fried plantains, also delicious. Beautiful view enjoy the beach and the Venice vibes. Staff was 100% attentive to all the needs. My fish was cooked to perfection with tasty spices that were also cooked with the rice. Beans were meh for me but tasty for a friend who likes that kind. I would have preferred black beans. Salad was fresh and paired well with the rest. read more

While walking along Venice I stumbled upon this restaurant. The chicken was good and the green sauce tasted very good with it. The Yucca was nice and crispy. Very cute dainty spot read more

The food came out so fast - I was suspicious. But everything was hot, fresh and tasting authentic. The server made sure we had sauces and kept refilling our waters (it was quite the hot day). The lomo was cooked perfectly; tender and with lots of flavor. Would absolutely dine there again. read more

Stopped by this place on a whim one day when I was at Venice beach and OH MY GOD, what a gem!! Lomo saltado is my regular Peruvian order and this place did not disappoint! Super flavorful, loved the spicy green sauce. My partner got the pork sandwich and it was excellent as well. The servers were friendly and attentive. I had a great experience here. I normally eat here whenever I visit Venice beach. This place serves some of the best rotisserie chicken in the LA area and their ají (Peruvian green sauce is DELICIOUS). My family really enjoys their garlic rice. It looks like regular white rice but is very flavorful. The service here is always friendly and welcoming. They used to have a window on the side where you would order from with tables to enjoy your food but there have transitioned to more traditional seating where a waiter takes your order. The restaurant is small but very colorful and familiar. read more
The food had good flavor and the location right on the boardwalk provides great entertainment. The staff is friendly and available. My colleague from France and I were going to share a ceviche and asked for mild. The mild ceviche was spicy. And had several slices of rocoto, a very spicy pepper throughout. When I questioned why the mild ceviche was so spicy, I was told mild means medium. Funny how a small action can influence the entire experience. There are so many more ways to address this that would leave a much better taste in the mouth of the customer. My colleague had the Lomo Saltado and it had good flavor and I had the pollo a la brasa that was very tasty and moist! read more

My favorite food on the boardwalk for many many years!! Earnesto the owner is always working, so you can count on the best quality and standard with amazing and delicious Peruvian cuisine. They have a new dining room which is clean and really well done...not to mention a boardwalk and ocean view. You can truly have anything on his menu; it's aaaaall delish!! My favorites are the rotisserie chicken, lomo satado, and grilled fish, but the burger and chicken sandwich are awesome too. I'm you're hungry on the boardwalk in Venice, you just can't beat Earnesto's food at El Huarique!! Thanks so much!! I'll be back soon!! read more

Did not expect such great food from a spot on Venice Beach. This is a must try for tender succulent beef cooked to perfect. May I add that they kept their tables clean and the guy working on 10/19/24 around lunch time was superbly courteous and provided great service. This is a must try! read more

This beachside restaurant is a must try! I've only had Peruvian food from one place but I'm addicted to it. I had never seen a shrimp lomo saltado, it was so delicious! The food is made to order and the staff were friendly and very personable, I feel like the owners run the shop. It's in a cute little row of shops right before you get to the beach. read more

Ceviche mixto: I asked for it mild. Well, it made my eyes water and my mouth numb! And I'm used to spicy stuff! To try to temper the hot I asked for an extra slice of sweet potato which didn't help much. No apologies from the kitchen or waitress (she did say she told the cook mild and later told him it was too spicy.) No discount either. Bill came to $38 so I even think they charged me for the slice of sweet potato. I did not enjoy it at all. Lemonade: I asked if their lemonade had any sugar and the waitress said no. It had basil too so I ordered it. The sun was quite brutal so needed something refreshing so I ordered it. Drank it in one gulp almost but it was too good so I asked if it had any sugar again. She said "you tasted it? It's very little and most people don't notice." I stated that my question wasn't whether it had a little or a lot but whether it had any! Thank goodness I'm not allergic and was just trying to avoid it. read more
