We love this place. The tall Llama is a fun photo opp. If you check their social media, real Llamas make appearances. The sauces add flavor to any dish.

La Cosecha hosts plenty of solid businesses inside the market. I will say you can't go wrong with any of them, despite my 3 star rating for Peruvian Brothers. If it wasn't for the flan, I would've rated this place either 4 or 5 stars. I did enjoy my chicken sandwich and thought the ingredients were pretty refreshing to have. That being said, I thought the flan was off-putting (perhaps it was a one-time thing or maybe I have poor taste in flan). Now that I have tried the majority of shops indoors, I will probably get Peruvian Brothers on occasion. I'm intrigued by their entire menu and will have to give this place another try.

Excellent beef empanadas. Fast service. La Cosecha is a lovely environment. Would love to try again soon!

I visited La Cochesa in the union market area for the first time last week, giving a visit to Peruvian Brothers. The fish bowl that I ordered provided a solid mix of protein, grains and vegetables, with a couple of sauces. The food filled me up and was a solid meal for about $20. The fish was slightly dry, so the sauce helped, but overall it was a well balanced meal. La Cochesa had a great ambiance with several food shops and seating to work or socialize.

Yuca fries are SOOOOOO good!!! They need to include more dip though. But will definitely be back!

I love how the spinach & cheese empanada isn't shy with the filling. The price is a bit on the expensive side for the size, definitely meant to be a treat once in a while.

I recently got Peruvian Brother's take on chicken and waffles for takeout and I enjoyed it. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and I loved the five sauces that came with the dish: an interesting-flavored syrup, butter, two spicy hot sauces, and a salsa verde of sorts. However, I felt the "waffles," which were kind of donut-like, were underwhelming and needed more flavor. I received my order on-time and it came hot with plastic utensils. I recommend Peruvian Brothers if you are in the area!

Tried the chicharron sandwhich. Pros: service was super fast and efficient so was great for on the go The sandwich itself wasn't amazing. It was kind of on the drier side and I was a little disappointed. I would definitely eat here again but would just try something else

I stopped by for a chicken empanada, and was really disappointed. It's mostly breading, which was really dry and felt stale. The chicken was also super dry, and the flavor was relatively bland. The sauce it came with was a rather strange hot sauce, which tasted more like a BBQ sauce with a slight spice to it. Overall, really disappointing. Probably wouldn't recommend!

I had a dark chicken leg which came with three sauces. The chicken was very tender and the sauces went well with the chicken.

Peruvian brothers is a local chain in the DMV area stopped in at the La Cosecha location. This is inside a food hall in the union market area. We got an order of their chicken sandwich and a chorizo empanada. They have great hot sauces in fact I got an order of both of their bottles. They put their sweet and tangy hot sauce on their sandwich. Service was fast and the chicken sandwich and empanada were delicious. The chicken wasn't to dry and there was great flavor with their hot sauce. I would definitely come back to this spot.

Fresh Chicha Morada and Inca Cola

**Review of Drinks Only** I have to specify that this review is based on the drinks alone, I'll come back here and get several different dishes to do a comprehensive review. I had the Fresh Chicha Morada and Inca Cola. The lady behind the register tried to explain what the drink was and I still don't know, but it's very sweet! I like sweets as in dessert, but not a syrupy type of sweetness in drinks. The Inca Cola is even worse because that tastes like a chemical stew and I had a couple of sips, then tossed it. The food did look and smell amazing from afar looking at other customers selections. This location is in the union market area and I had previously picked other food choices. As I said, I'll come here for food next time and I'm sure I'll modify this restaurant to something better than a 2 star...or so I hope :-) -ODL Follow my IG: @AOEAT

I ordered from the DC location through Uber Eats TODAY: I ordered the ceviche sampler which had the 3 ceviches I had yesterday: (Tradicional, Cremoso y Callejero) and I think my favorite is the callejero, then the tradicional, and then the cremoso. Again to quote from my review of Reston location: "This reminds me of my time in Pero and the flavors i experienced. The ceviches are bright from the acidity of the lime. The fish, the pulpo, the shrimp were all fresh and melt in your mouth tender and the sweet potato threw in a light sweetness here and there". I also ordered the Pork Belly Bao buns but I wouldn't get them again at least not for delivery; because the steam was trapped in the container the pork belly wasn't crispy and it was more fatty then meat on the pieces. Which combined with the steam they almost because gelatinous and gummy? I was a little underwhelmed with the toppings as well. I expected to like one restaurant location better than the other in terms of food quality but I can't tell the difference it's THAT good. I cannot wait to come in person, I had my mom try the ceviches - she was impressed - and I told her she'd be my first guest who I'm bringing to Pisco y Nazca.

Amazonia is located in a back alley off of 9th street and is surrounded by a whole bunch of other restaurants and bars that I head people rave about all the time. We were quickly able to get seated at Amazonia. Causa their sister restaurant that is a prix fixed menu that you pre pay for was all booked up. Heading upstairs the decor was beautiful and I loved all of the fresh plants everywhere. We decided on doing their restaurant week menu so we could try a lot of different things. I can't recall what the dishes were exactly but they were all really tasty with the steak dish with veggies being a stand out. I loved how every dish was very unique and unlike anything I'd had before. I loved my first drink a tropical Negroni and then the drink with the bubbles was even better. Service was great also by the way. Our server was amazing at making recommendations. Overall the bill came out to about $300 for 2 people this place is def not cheap and I would probably only come back for a special occasion and being treated.

The outdoor setting created the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The food was exceptional. We started with the Scallops a la Parmesana -- Peruvian scallops with aji amarillo anticucheria sauce and parmesan cheese. The combination of flavors was unique, balanced, and beautifully executed. The ceviche was incredible -- fresh, bright, and exactly what I was looking for. I loved the lemon-forward flavor, which gave it the perfect freshness and acidity. The Crab Fusili was another standout. It was a creative and delicious dish, with amazing flavor and a perfect balance that made every bite memorable. For the main course, the lomo saltado truly delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly -- tender, flavorful, and full of the bold Peruvian flavors that make this dish such a classic. A special thank you to our waiter, Tagist, who made the entire experience even better. She took the time to explain each dish in detail, helped guide us through the menu, and made us feel confident that we were choosing the right dishes. She was absolutely right -- every recommendation was fantastic. Between the incredible cuisine, beautiful outdoor setting, and outstanding service, Amazonia offers the type of dining experience that makes you want to return. If you're looking for elevated Peruvian cuisine in Washington, DC, this restaurant deserves a spot on your list. Highly recommend -- a true DC dining gem!

Date Night Done RIGHT!…read more D'Lena was such a pleasant surprise. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the exterior, but once we stepped inside, the ambiance completely sold me. The restaurant is grown, classy, sophisticated, and sexy without trying too hard, exactly the kind of atmosphere you want for a good date night in DC. And the service deserves its own paragraph! From the hostess to our waitress, the bus staff, and the manager, EVERYONE was attentive. What really stood out to me was how observant the staff was. They seemed to actually pay attention to customers' body language and anticipate what was needed. If one team member couldn't get to something quickly, another person stepped in. That kind of teamwork makes a huge difference because you never feel forgotten or left waiting unnecessarily. The manager was especially personable. While we were waiting for our food, she came over and actually chatted with us for about 5-10 minutes. Not the typical quick "How is everything?" check-in she genuinely engaged with us. That made the experience feel very personal. Now...the presentation of the tomahawk steak was EVERYTHING! If you order it, just know it is a LOT of food. It's easily enough for more than two people, so come hungry or bring people who are ready to eat! We enjoyed several things throughout the meal and loved the overall experience. My appetizer personally wasn't my favorite, but that's more about my own taste than the food itself. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of cheese, and this particular dish had more cheese than I prefer. If you're a cheese lover, though, this is probably right up your alley. And then there's the downstairs lounge! I absolutely loved that you can essentially have two different experiences under one roof. After dinner, heading downstairs for the jazz performance was the perfect way to continue the night. The music had a really nice Latin influence, which made the whole vibe even better. There is a separate bar downstairs, so one thing to know is that the drinks offered downstairs are different from the cocktail experience upstairs. Also, the lounge space is limited, so I'd recommend making a reservation/RSVP or getting there early if you want to secure a spot. Overall, D'Lena gave us exactly what we were looking for: good food, beautiful surroundings, exceptional service, and an atmosphere that felt mature, elevated, and fun. Being able to have dinner AND transition into live music without leaving the restaurant made it an even better date-night experience. Definitely a 5-star experience for me, and I would absolutely go back.
