I reached out today because I have had concerns with our service for weeks now, but today I just needed to voice my frustration over the situation. The response I received from the owner, Steve, was shocking to say the least. I myself am a business owner that deals with customer service on a daily basis. I will admit that there are certain complaints that I may not necessarily agree with, but I always listen and validate my customers concerns with dignity and respect. The vacuum just stopped working Sunday, so not the absolute problem. Ariel I appreciate you contacting us about this, but you went from "considering" to canceling" in the same email without giving us a chance to explain.  First, that you for your business in the past and changing companies is obviously your decision to make. Blake is an excellent tech and does not take short cuts like skipping chemical measurement. We don't charge for the amount of time spent at a pool. Rather we charge for the job. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to an hour, but more often it tale 10-15 minutes provided the pool has been properly maintained previously. Filter pressure varies by filter type as well as how dirty/clean the filter is. While your filter may read 10 directly after a cleaning the pressure will rise as the filter collects contaminents.  The presence of algae would suggest that it is time for a filter cleaning, but it could also be the result of less than optimal circulation. As Blake is paid extra for filter cleaning I am certain he would jump at the chance to make extra money by cleaning yours if needed. You mentioned your pool sweeper is broken and that is a pivotal component of pool maintenance as it not only scrubs walls and steps between services it also helps circulate water especially from the floor of the pool.  Unless we hear otherwise from you we will stop your pool service at end of day today. I heard a critter in my attic and decided to call Steve Hunt from Pest Wranglers. I have known Mr. Hunt over 25 years! He is a resident of Round Rock. Steve came out the next day to do a thorough inspection and access the damage. He took 4 pictures of openings around my 2 story house that critters could come through. He forwarded his findings with pictures in an email. The office manager Channing contacted me the same day to schedule all the appointments for extermination and follow up. Steve assigned his technician, Kellie to seal the openings and set traps. Saying Kellie is great is an understatement. She came out the next day, and explained everything she was doing before she did it. She sealed the openings and set the traps Kellie came back 1 week later to check the traps and again the following week! No more critters! My experience with Pest Wranglers was far from stellar. My tenants let me know that when Pest Wranglers came out to take care of my yard, they were only there for 10 minutes before leaving. I requested before and after pictures since I was not there at the property and Steve was offended by my asking nicely. I'm not sure what reason my tenant would have for lying about the yard not being taken care of but I digress. When I addressed my concerns to Steve I was met with sarcasm, snark, threats of involving lawyers and name calling which was far from appreciated. The customer service at Pest Wranglers is second to none. Steve is my hero! When a rat chewed through the living room drywall in under an hour, he answered my panicky phone call at 9:30 pm on a Tuesday night. He calmly explained that rat was NOT trying to come inside, it was just confused by the warm winter we're having in Austin and was looking for food. In addition, apparently chewing helps rats dull their teeth. Steve told me what I could do right then to help give me some peace of mind, and made time in his schedule to come by the house within 36 hours. I live in a nice, older rent house that has had an unfortunate share of raccoons and rats living in the chimney. Steve is always thorough in his inspections and very up front about what he can and cannot do. There's no beating around the bush - if he can seal up an opening or set a trap, he does it. If it's a problem that simply cannot be fixed, he says so. Austin is home to a lot of critters, and Steve is very knowledgeable about their behavior. In the 2 years that we've lived here, Steve has successfully caught two raccoons and a possum, as well as solving stink bug and roach problems. I have high confidence in his strategy for dealing with current rat situation. Steve is also just the nicest guy. He's warm, friendly, and professional. He and his staff always dress sharply, show up when they say they will, and treat my roommates and me with the utmost respect. He explains as much as possible, answers all of our questions, and goes to great lengths to make us feel safe from critters. In short, Steve is great at handling pests AND reassuring his clients. Started to hear the pitter patter of something moving around in my attic. Me being the manly man I am, I immediately went to the internet to search for professional help. Steve opened the attic, in less than a second said, "Rats." Initially I thought he was disappointed because he didn't find anything, but he literally meant, rats. He blocked off the entries/exits and set a few traps. We have found two rats (so far) that led good lives while living rent free in my humble abode. Unfortunately, due to their unwillingness to pay rent, the eviction process was probably not to their liking. I digress, Steve has been great, trustworthy and timely. Steve Hunt become like my therapist during his visits about my spotting a new insect daily. I'm deathly afraid of tarantulas and freaked out when I saw one in my laundry room. I have continued to use Pest Wranglers for the past six years since my first review and I continue to be "WOWed" by their knowledge, value and service. With their regular outside treatments, I almost never see any pests inside, but if there's ever any in between treatments, they come out for free. Recently, I called them late on a Friday afternoon with massive trail and invasion of Rover ants into our master bath that were all over our garden tub and countertops. Even though it was late on a Friday, Steve came over within 15-20 minutes and put out liquid bait and with a couple of hours they were no longer on the countertops and were taking the bait. I just moved into a new house and found big ants lived in the walls. I called Pest Wranglers and talked to Steve...very knowledgeable and helpful. He knew what was I had with just a few questions, carpenter and acrobat ants. He explained how they work on destroying a house which is different from how termites do it. He came right away and did a search. I had taken some time beforehand to check my yard and property for where the ants were, which I think was helpful, but he found much more than I did. These guys are AMAZING!! A crafty raccoon decided to make my attic its home early last year. Cody came out and sealed everything up, making sure the critter was not still in residence. Then, when the first really cold snap hit in December, the raccoon found another way in. Cody came back out at NO CHARGE and sealed the entrance, along with finding some other possible access points and fixed those too. Even over the holidays, I received service multiple times. After much Yelp research, I settled on Pest Wranglers. And I can see why they get great reviews. Cody just left my house 15 minutes ago, and I'm already writing this review. He was fantastic - professional, thorough, and very personable. He asked a ton of questions to figure out what type of treatments were needed and explained everything he did around the house. He even gave me dog treats for my two mutts that wouldn't stop barking at him! When I asked him to hit down a tiny dead wasp nest, he apologized until his face was blue for missing it the first time, even though I kept telling him that it wasn't a big deal. This level of customer service is unheard of these days. I can't speak to the effectiveness of the treatments yet, since Cody told us to give it some time, but so far so good! read more

Whatever was sitting on top of my fireplace flue and scratching around every 20 mins. was driving my dogs (and me) nuts. I called several pest control places after 6 on Friday night. Steve Hunt, Pest Wrangler extraordinaire, called me back about 6:45. He listened and said he'd be glad to drop by for a (free) evaluation on Saturday. I said great, we'd be in the backyard spreading mulch. Steve shows up at the time he estimated. He looks and listens. All but crawls full body into the fireplace and says he's sure it's a bird. I figured that was the evaluation. Steve suggests we get an old pillow case. Steve holds it under the flue. I open the flue. Nothing happens. Steve says, "Oh. Big bird!" Then he calmly, gently reaches in and pulls the starling through the flue. He walks it through the kitchen and into the backyard. "How much do we owe you?" "Not a thing. Glad to do it!" A small attic vent fell off of our house and a momma bird built a nest in our attic. We heard scratching in the attic and called Pest Wranglers. Steve was very responsive by email, and when he came out to look at the vent, he replied, "I do have a concern that [the birds] already have hatchlings in the nest and while we are a pest control company we hate killing things if we don't have to. If the technician arrives and finds that there are birds in the nest that are not able to survive if they are evicted would you be opposed to having us wait a few weeks before we evict?" Of course we don't mind! A few days later Cody found the nest and there were still fledglings in it, so we decided to wait a few more weeks to give the fledglings some time to leave the nest on their own. Weeks later, Steve emailed to let me know they would stop by and check on the fledglings: "The birds should be about ready to fly if they haven't already left the nest. We'll be out to check it out this week and we can give you a better idea after that." Once the nest was empty, Cody removed the nest, replaced the missing vent, and even treated an ant mound he noticed during his visit. I called this morning and talked to Steve and he sent Cody this afternoon to inspect around the house to check for a possible mice/rodent problem. This company is great!! We've used them a couple times now and all of their staff is so personable; from the woman who answers the phone to the technicians and the owner. The receptionist/office manager remembered us even though we only spoke once 5 months ago. The owner came out himself and treated our home today because we developed a roach problem as a result of a Keurig. (Side Note: Apparently it's very common for roaches to get inside coffee/espresso makers so keep an eye out people!!) He was quick, efficient, and very knowledgeable. Yes, yes, yes. These are the guys! Cody, the James Comey of the extermination world (that guy is tall and decent, one can tell!), is so nice, informative and thorough. He's very careful for my dogs, (we have four), and does a great job. He crawls into small hot places that nobody else will, even though he's like 6 foot 8! Good service companies are hard to find in Texas, which is why Pest Wranglers is such a breath of fresh air. They gave a thorough explanation and breakdown of their services before we even asked them to show up. So glad I stumbled on to Steve and Pest Wranglers. I was having a nasty wasp issue to the level of getting swarmed daily. I called several other places all of whom hemmed and hawed about wasps and how tricky they were to eliminate. But when I spoke to Steve he evaluated what was going on and applied a treatment to my condo and 36 hours later I had ZERO wasp issues for the rest of the year. Please understand that these guys did not perform any services. This company actually provides genuine customer service and cares about their customers to the point that they would rather save their clients money vs. catching a quick buck. We thought we were having another dead caucus episode in our small attic. HIs team came out the next day and did a full blow inspection of the property (including the neighbor attached to my wall ) duplex and pointed out where rodents were getting in as they admitted they were having issues as well. At the end of his visit, he could have charged us a few hundred to lock down a few areas, but we informed him that we will be seling this property in the next few months. He informed us that he would not make that type of investment and to save our money and to keep in mind when we move. Again, building trust First will always get you more down the road. I wanted to point to his team, that he has not clue but, he has earned my pest control business for many years to come.
