I arrived at 8:40a this morning not realizing that they open at 9a on Saturday. I didn't see cars so I decided to go grab some breakfast so I could eat while I wait. I got back at about 8:55a and that's when I realized there were cars waiting in a line formed in the back of the convenience store. There were about 5 cars ahead of me but let me tell you.. these guys are very efficient. They had already begun helping people before 9am. Someone was walking up to the cars in line checking insurance and gathering other pertinant information. They then pulled in two cars at once to inspect at the same time which I'm certain definitely helped shorten the length of wait time. When it was my turn one gentleman conducted my inspection while another discussed my registration and took my payment (total came to $96.75). I was completely done and on my way by 9:15a! The fact that you can get your inspection and registration done at the same time is soo great. I definitely recommend them and I'll forsure be back next year! read more

Drove into the Chevron/ gas station parking lot and hugged the left along the expressway I got off of. Looked the right to turn into the Inspection Express and there were plastic foldouts blocking the drive through. I went on through the Christian Brothers front to get access to the drive and turned in, but a young latino man in glasses came out to tell me I had to back out. He told me I had to go around a from the other side of the gas station, all the way behind it and come from the different direction. By this time two other vehicles were pulling up. I told him that I had waited for the other vehicles in front of me and it didn't make sense. He said yes, I had to drive around the gas station and get behind the other vehicles that had just pulled up. He told me that the plastic foldouts had some instructions on them and it wasn't his fault that I couldn't read and follow directions. Being non-confrontational only seemed to invite more of his condescending attitude. I decided my self respect was worth getting an inspection elsewhere. I was recommended IE from MainLane mechanics and had two vehicles to bring to both places today. I ended up finding a 4.9 Star place that did inspection, oil change and checkup all in one go. My family will not be using IE. read more

I got my car inspected here today. They inspected it very quickly. I was also able to walk out the door with my inspection sticker too. They do charge $4 if you use your credit card for your sticker. Bring cash to avoid that fee. On convenience alone, I recommend this business. read more

The employee told me they can issue the registration immediately after the emissions test. I agreed, but them asked if they charge an extra fee for the registration. Neither employee gave me a straight answer. When the employee brought out my paperwork and the new sticker he quickly reached through my car window with a razor scrapper and removed my old sticker without asking. He left a gouge in my windshield. There was no point in removing it because I had to clean off the residue before putting on the new one. read more

A bit of a drive for us. But my husband wanted to get 2 cars done in a hurry. We went first thing on a Satuday morning. Didn't take any time at all. You can pay a few bucks extra and get your stickers there. So no trip needed to another store. They can do 2 cars at a time. I think they have 5 people working. I was not aware that an inspection place could be so rude and unprofessional. My car fails inspection due to there not being enough emissions information in the ecu, and the employee couldn't be bothered to tell me. He guided me out, handed me the payment screen immediately, it only included the inspection so I asked him if I could also get the sticker there too. He only THEN proceeds to tell me my car failed the inspection and gives me the paperwork, along with some driving instructions. Im left clueless. I was about to ask him what was wrong and why I needed to do this, but before I could, he gave me a thumbs up and just darted away. I thought okay, maybe he was in a hurry, I read the driving instructions and looked at the paperwork. The paper titled rejection receipt had a section that said ''explain rejection reason fully:" and was completely blank. Again, i thought it was odd, but proceeded with the driving as per the instructions, not knowing what was wrong. After about 20m when I thought I was done, I pulled back in, he comes in a hurry and tries yanking my door open repeatedly, not wasting a single moment for me to unlock it first. When I do, I explained to him how it was a bit rude the way he left me hanging earlier, and instead of taking any accountability whatsoever, like a simple apology or a short explanation like "Oh I was in a hurry I thought I explained everything" he tries gaslighting me about what happened just 20 minutes ago as if I wasn't there myself. The entire time with a very smug appearance and sarcastic tone. I tried explaining to him what he really did, and he continued to defend himself like I had Alzheimer's. It was clearly going nowhere, no signs of any accountability or professionalism, I was just wasting time. So i asked him about the paperwork and how i thought at least that should include the reason if he wasn't going to bother, and he said "oh thats just bullshit paperwork we dont worry about, its an old system, we just explain verbally instead" Extremely Ironic considering he did not verbally explain anything. Do yourself a favor and avoid the possibility of running into an unprofessional, sarcastic employee. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have used Inspection Express every year since I moved to Round Rock about 7 years ago but this was my first time at this location. They are true to their name. I have never spent more than 15 minutes waiting for my car to finish an inspection, including in the summer of 2020 & 2021 during the height of the pandemic. This new-ish location on Louis Henna Blvd. is a 2-minute drive and is really easy to get to (the building is located right next to a gas station). Service was friendly, prompt, and professional. read more

I feel like this location of Inspection Express is a lot less crowded than their location on Palm Valley. They get you in and out in 15 minutes, I have never had to wait due to another car in front of me. They do have a small seating area, not the most comfortable but thankfully you won't have to wait for very long. I take all of my cars to this location for their fast and speedy service. read more

Came here for an inspection parked where the signs said to park and walked in, once inside there was zero customers and a man with a beard was sitting at the computer. I told him I needed an inspection he told me I was the first car I said okay and went back to my car to inform my boyfriend and to wait with our baby. 30 mins went by no one came, but they pulled in a SUV and a guy came out to service a car that came AFTER me. Terrible customer service and work. here's why: 1) didn't know how to drive a manual vehicle (kind of odd, considering your job is to drive different styles of vehicles all day). Had to literally teach the guy how to use it because he kept stalling my vehicle. 2) didn't pass a passable vehicle (that, btw, wont even need a safety inspection come 2025 because it's a '70) because it was side piped. He said "I'm not comfortable with this". However, the pipes were within regulation. When I asked them to look up the regulation (which maybe takes only 10 minutes), the man refused. 3) I called three different local shops (in the matter of 10 minutes) and asked them their take on the situation, and they all said the vehicle should have passed. So I've never been to an inspection station where parking your car in a parking space outside of the station first was a requirement. Because I didn't know this, I drove in between some red cones that gave me a clear opening to the inspection drive-thru lane. I'm guessing that was a big no-no since some worker with a big beard and camo hat walked outside flailing his arms with an attitude shaking his head at me and yelling something to another worker inside, so I left. This country has a big problem with patience. I would've gladly stayed and parked where I needed to if they wouldn't have been so rude. Easy problem could've been easily resolved without disrespecting the customer. I always liked Christian brothers automotive services but this inspection station has some awful customer service that needs to be looked into by higher ups. read more

They moved to this very inconvenient location from their location on palm valley, and the new location is literally a nightmare. You have to drive around the gas station and park behind the gas station to get in the line. You can't actually get in a line though, bc of a fire lane behind the gas station building. You have to park in a parallel spot which allows other cars to skip ahead of you in line. There are cars parked literally everywhere, and it's difficult to discern which cars are in line and which are just parked there. I'm constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure another car isn't going to skip ahead and take my place in line. I'm already here, so I'll wait this out, but I will pick a different inspection place next time for sure. Was also told it only takes about 5 minutes per vehicle and I've been waiting over 15 minutes for them to perform one inspection, lol. Wow, someone literally just cut in front of me bc they don't have lanes designated. Plenty of other places from which to choose! ;) read more

Holy cow, for a simple thing, this business is totally incompetent. Rude manager, cussing the entire time i'm in the building, Manager said he was running 3 locations and was too busy to deal with anything. They said they could print the car sticker for me, rather than have me go to the tax office. they charged me the $80 for the sticker, then said the sticker wasn't good. They said the state of Texas web site was down and the sticker didn't match my car. They said they refunded my $80 but i'd have to go to the tax office to pay for and get my sticker. So I did that, thinking they had refunded my money. they did not refund my money. I've spoken to at least three people since and was told I'd have to drive back up there to get my refund. drove back up there. no refund. Spoke to various condescnding manager types, no refund. so I have now paid $160 for an $80 sticker. This company is I believe running an illegal scam business. Or they are so incompetent they should be shut down, Avoid at all cost. Awful experience for something so simple. read more

Went here for an emissions inspection, new to state. Passed emissions inspection but failed overall because my factory tint was 15% and needs to be 25%. The inspector waited to tell me until AFTER I paid ... AND they expect tips here also? Justified and snobby attitude from inspector Expecting a tip? This tipping thing has gotten way out of hand when you are expected to do so when someone is just doing what they were hired to do. I see why wages are so low in just about every industry when they expect patrons to help pay employees. What gets me most is that I've seen vehicles with no bumpers or bumpers held on with duct tape and rope that are okay but my Mercedes factory tint make my car unsafe or disqualifies me? How backwards is that? Went elsewhere had no problems and they didn't expect you to pay for more than just the inspection. Do yourself a favor and save a wasted trip and hassle buy just having your inspection completed elsewhere. read more

This was my first time visiting Inspection Express. It is conveniently located right down the street from my job so I went on my lunch hour. There were 3 people ahead of me so there was a bit of a wait but it wasn't an issue for me. Turns out BOTH of my brake lights were out (had NO IDEA) and the nice person working on my car replaced them free of charge (as it says on their website). I recommend this business but will add that you need to have some patience...the actual inspection only takes 10 minutes but you may have to wait your turn. :-) read more

This location is the small garage in-between the Chevron and Christian Brothers Automotive. I usually have to go far for these quick inspection garages so glad there is now one not too far.
