Me and my dog Chico / Cheeky. This pic was taken before Pet A Bulls inc. stole my Adopted pet from me.

Mare Isreal Nor Mike LeBelle have let me know how my dog is doing. Nor have they contacted me to talk about me getting my Dog Chico/ Cheeky back. It is going on 2 and a half months. They are no longer on Facebook or on messenger. All calls from me are never answered. I have left several messages with no Avil. I have left several messages to the board members of Pet A Bulls and I have yet to receive an answer to when exactly I will get my adopted dog back or my $500.00 dollars. I am very disgusted with this whole experience. They say they are about the dogs and in my opinion they use the dogs to profit off of!!!!

I lost one of my pups a few months back and my other is lonely. I've been looking for another pup and decided to check out the facility. This new center is really nice, there is a ton of parking as it is kinda out there on its own. It is located about five minutes from El Modelo, just head south on 2nd from Bridge and it is super easy to find. They have a check in system and are trying to maintain social distancing by limiting capacity. You check in and then are free to walk through and meet the dogs and/or cats. If you see one you'd like to spend more time with, you just tell them and you can interact with them further. I found that they had some really great dogs and I could see they had a good amount of cats too. I met a really cute pup named Luna and even brought my pup to meet her but had some concerns, mainly how much larger he is than she was. Anyways, definitely recommend checking them out!

I made sure to set him up for success with all the training I could give him since he was already 2 years old approx. I adopted him 3 years ago and he has kept on growing in trusting people more and becoming more confident. Give dogs a chance only if you are willing to give them time, they are 10000% worth the investment of time and effort. Also, donate to your animal shelters when you can! Their facility is bright, clean, open, and welcoming. Founded in 1965, Animal Humane is New Mexico's oldest animal welfare organization, and it shows in the care and dedication they provide. When I adopted her, the process was simple, efficient, and fairly priced. Lately, I've been thinking about how I can give back to my community, and the first place that came to mind was Animal Humane. I signed up to volunteer through their website, and they responded quickly--I was able to attend an orientation within two weeks. The orientation was incredibly informative, not just about the organization's mission, but also about the many ways volunteers can get involved. Since then, I've been volunteering in their on-site low-income pet food distribution center, and it's been amazing to see their mission in action. If you're looking to adopt a pet or find a meaningful way to give back, this is the place. Thank you, Animal Humane, for bringing so much joy into my life!

This was my first time adopting a shelter dog on my own, although all the dogs at home I grew up with were all stray dogs that my dad usually got from some golf courses he played. The process was a bit time consuming...given COVID, the shelter could only take very limited number of people in at a time..so you'd have to sign up on a virtual/digital wait-list to be inform when your turn to go into the office was. We arrived around 2pm on a weekend...and our wait was around 1.5hours. They were definitely limited by the number of staff and I wished I knew they needed many volunteers earlier (I talked to one staff when we went in to pick up Norman after his neuter..and the staff mentioned they were 11 people short!!)..so I could stop by to help in any way I could before this adoption. We had Norman for a lil less than a week now and I was so happy with him. At first he seemed shy and timid..but he definitely made huge improvement and progress each day! With more and more days..I found he loved nature...walking..and interested in plants (he was a stray...and from his behaviors..it sermed he didn't really have much interaction with people or other dogs at home before). He's also very gentle...no barking..no aggressiveness at all. Somehow his pot training process was a cakewalk! I didn't really have to teach him much what to do and it seemed he kindda preferred to elimite outside of home anyways! I can't wait to work and spend more time with him. Thank you ABQ Animal Welfare for letting us adopt this precious dog as a new member of our family!

Now she's been with us since March 2024 and she has her forever home. The Staff at WMR are fantastic and they go the extra mile to make sure their rescues go with the best possible families. I keep Maddie and Sam up to date on Skittles' progress. Since she had been there the longest, they wanted to make sure that we would keep her. I've read some of the not so nice reviews and I'm disappointed that people think that this is just a simple process. Animals aren't disposable items that you can just toss away. But too many people think that way. WMR staff thinks hard about letting someone adopt. It has to be the best possible fit. They don't want to see any of their rescues come back, except to visit. :) The staff and volunteers do their very best to care for all these animals. I appreciate the time and effort it takes to do this job. Thank you for letting us adopt Skittles. She's come a long way.

I think her name was Kaylee. I left to come back this week. I came in today and spoke with two ladies standing in the back. One was Samantha and I don't remember the other lady's name. I asked a question about volunteering for my 18 year old grand-daughter. They said they would have to ask. Then, I asked about the adoptions. The one with long hair said we cannot do adoptions because we don't know how. I asked who does and she told me I would have to come back another time. She was rude and did not even offer a phone number for me to call back. Very poorly trained staff and she looked like a deer in headlights when I was talking to her. I had planned on giving a $1000 donation along with adopting a dog, maybe even two but will go to another rescue with kinder, better trained personnel.

I got there right at opening so there were several large parties with kids that came in. Some of the kids were chasing the cats around and trying to get them to play even though clearly the cats were shy/ stressed with that many kids being around. You pay by the hour ($14) or for younger kids can have a half hour session and can bring your own treats in. I don't mind paying the fee knowing that it goes towards helping out the cats. Someone came in to adopt a few kittens during that time. They had packaged snacks, a unique variety of bottled drinks, coffee, tea, cider, and hot chocolate for sale. Towards the end of my session, all of the parties seemed to leave at once leaving me alone with just the cats. At that point, more of the cats started to come out of hiding and I was able to spend more time with them. 2026 #2

Staff are super attentive and nice, know my dogs Luna and Moody, take great care of them, they're always happy to go in, just waltz right in. Also good seeing consistent staff, same faces which was not the case at the previous place we used. It's all indoor, separated by weight which is also one of the best parts of Aries. Currently only open Tuesday through Friday likely due to staffing. Wish they were open more days! They are a little more expensive than the previous place we used, but worth it. Kong meal/snack is extra or included however you wanna look at it. They do have packages to bring the cost down, pay more up front for multiple days. I think comes out to about $27 a day with the package. They do have an extensive weeding out process which is good because it ensures only quality dogs are there, make sure they get along with other dogs, do ok in the kennel for a period of time. They also require vaccinations and tick/flea prevention. Notes I took when considering them v. Others: * Fecal exam giardia, parasites and coccidia within last 6-8 months * Flea and tick treatment, natural essential oils too ok * Intro 15 min then 1 hr later day free, T-F 830-1030 or 130-330 * hours: 7-1115, crate till 1245, back out till 415 then crated until end of day 6 * $1 per meal regardless if bring food or not * All indoor * No vet on call but has set up with vet nearby * No overnight * Grooming $45-55 * Walk in daycare * $30 full day * Buy 9 get 1 free or buy 17 get 3 free non-refundable Hope this helps other neurotic pet parents like me!
