    I've had to come here twice, once with one of my client's dog and the second time with my own. Both times I had very positive experiences. The vets are fantastic and extremely attentive. I was put in my own private room for the second one which helped ease the anxiety my dogs were feeling. They were kind and explained everything they were doing and gave me a price breakdown for everything. I strongly recommend!

    Another amazing experience with a weirdo cat! We brought in a cat that had just been trapped who was very scared and his mouth was hanging open. They easily sedated him, found the problem, and got us on our way. Dr Ross is amazing, as was the staff! Shout out to Ayanna, Ash and Taylor, and to everyone else whose names I didn't catch who were just the bees knees. Thank you again!!

    Brought my cat Pearl here with a bad case of diarrhea and terrible weezing & loud muffled breathing from asthma I had Brought her to her usall vet a week or 2 before bringing her here she was put on unnecessary meds that were not needed and a wrong diagnosis.The Doctor and techs were so nice they were able to give me a proper diagnosis to the weezing which I was told was from an upper respiratory infection which wasn't the case they gave me a new medication for her tummy and her breathing my furbaby is progressing and finally starting to feel so much better a little pricey but definitely worth it Thank you for helping my Pearl. ....... VEG ER

To make matters more difficult, George is absolutely terrified of having his nails cut. It's always been a stressful experience for him. But when I brought him to Pet ER, they immediately put us at ease. They were more than happy to help, took him in right away without an appointment, and had everything done in less than two minutes. To my amazement, George didn't make a single peep--he stood calmly and allowed them to do exactly what they needed to. They even told me he was perfect! I was truly blown away. From the moment we walked in, the level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine care we received was beyond anything I've experienced in a long time. I've been part of the Setauket community for 58 years and have owned and cared for many animals over my lifetime--including horses, goats, donkeys, dogs, and cats. Having worked with countless veterinarians in this area and beyond, I can say with complete confidence that Dr. Azagrar and the entire team at Pet ER stand out in every way. They are not only highly knowledgeable and skilled, but truly compassionate. They take the time to care about you as a person and treat your pet like a valued member of your family--not just another appointment. George was treated like royalty. The staff is kind, attentive, and incredibly respectful. You can feel that they genuinely love what they do, and that makes all the difference. Pet ER has become such an important part of this community. It's exactly what Setauket needed--a place where our pets are treated with the dignity, care, and compassion they deserve.     Dr Degorge is a disgrace! I canceled my appointment to…read moreboard our dogs at the Hauppauge Animal Hospital after learning that their required flea, tick, heart worm and select intestinal parasite prevention medicine called Simpiraca has serious side effects including seizures and death. I explained that our dogs use Frontline and Heartguard products but that didn't matter as they wanted my dogs to take Simpiraca, maybe they make money from the manufacturer of this drug. These side effects were not disclosed during the pre-boarding visit by Dr DeGeorge. We found a better kennel and canceled the appointment. Follow the money! Dr Frankenstein at Hauppauge works for VCA. VCA is owned by Mars and they manufacture pet foods, that's why she wanted me not to feed our dogs fresh foods and why she said not to trust the brand of dry food that the breeder gave us when we bought the dog. VCA also has a relationship with Zoetis, and they are the manufacturer of Simparica. We found a pet hotel and our dogs were safe and now home after our vacation

Over time it lost its warm, personal feeling due to corporate changes, but we stayed because our dogs' records were there. This review is about the experience we had on the day we brought our dog Bella to be put down and we can never walk into that place again. We rescued her from Texas, and after 11 years she became very sick quickly. After many tests, we learned she had extremely high blood pressure and neurological issues. She lost her vision, did not recognize us, , and could barely walk. We knew it was time. In the past, euthanasia there was peaceful. I would go in the room say my emotional goodbyes due to the fact I am not able to watch anyone I love die . My husband stayed with our dogs and it was quick and calm. This time Bella was taken out of the room, and my husband was not allowed to go with her. He asked twice and was told no, without explanation. While I waited, I heard Bella start screaming, yelping, and crying in pain. I became hysterical. Bella had always had a severe issue with her paws being touched, something that should have been known. My husband always held her during procedures. We were never told they would try to place an IV, and Dr. Chin later said he attempted it six times. He described her as fighting due to neurological issues, but that was simply how Bella always reacted. If my husband had been there, this could have been avoided. No dog should be separated from their owners in their final moments, and no owner should have to sit and listen to their pet in distress. Putting a dog down is hard enough but always was a peaceful, calm process, and this was a nightmare . A week later I met with Dr. Chin, hoping for compassion and answers, especially why Tom was not allowed to be with her and why he was not told where they were going and what they were doing. Instead, after pouring my heart out he was very defensive, denied Tom asked to go with her, and told me to see a grief counselor. I already have, but they cannot help me process what I heard. While I was listening to Bella screaming I was hysterical and not one person in that office comforted me or said a word to me. I am writing this to warn other pet owners at that final moment to know exactly what will happen and never leave your pet alone at the end. We thought we understood the simple process based on past peaceful experiences, but this was very different. I am still dealing with this every day and cannot talk about Bella without crying about the way she died and how I listened to her screaming and wasn't able to do anything for her . When I returned for Bella's ashes, a staff member named Jenn showed genuine compassion. She hugged me, cried with me, and walked me to my car. The world needs more people like her. I would really prefer not reading what the owner has to say. I certainly feel that a phone call from him would show some real feelings .

    My dog Harvey had ACL surgery in September 2025. Firstly I…read morewill say Dr Arnold Lesser "appears" to have competently performed the surgery. Now the bad part. The office he works out of is interested in 1 thing. Not my pet's well being. They are interested in money. The deal was a flat "package deal" of $6500. This was supposed to be $1000 discount as per Dr Lesser. This was said to me and my wife VERY clearly. That was the fee and no additions unless something went horribly wrong. Thankfully nothing did. He is healing. At each time of bringing Harvey in for the next step the office staff attempted to overcharge me. Each time I explained that the arrangement was a package deal of $6500. Each time they had to consult someone else as if it is not stated clearly on the invoice they and I both have copies of. Each time they backed down. Until... today. We are 10 weeks out from removing his stiches. This is the timeframe that Dr Lesser instructed me to bring him back for his final xray to make sure everything is good. It was NEVER said that this xray was an additional fee. Never did anyone tell me when I made the appt that there was an additional fee. I got there this morning to be confronted with an $854 estimate for this xray. I protested and said exactly what I said the prior 2 times. I was being over charged for a "package deal". First by the nurse, then the office manager. I asked her to contact Dr Lesser. She claims he says that is not what he said. YES YOU DID! Dr Lesser I hope you read this and 1 of 2 things happens: either you chew out the people who lied about what you said and reschedule Harvey's included xray OR you call me at (631) 258-8766 and apologize for lying to me. One of you is lying. You absolutely said the price was $6500 for everything. I cannot, with good conscience, say my dog was mistreated in any way at this place but I DEFINITELY was. I guess the bottom line is you had better get every little thing in writing from this place as far as cost because they WILL try to screw you. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because Harvey is OK.

We were bringing her in for the recommended daily dressing changes (which weren't cheap) On the second day she had wound cultures sent (we paid for them). Today we asked for the results and were told that one of the organisms were resistant to the antibiotic. They had the results for 4 days. If we didnt ask were they ever going to tell us. When my wife told me I called the office and the woman I spoke with could not have been any ruder. Perhaps she didn't like that she couldn't BS me after i told her I was a doctor. All she had to do was aopologize
