    Dog looking at Santa
    Marisa S.

This is my go to Pet Food Express location. I started going here in 2021 when I lived in an apartment nearby. The workers are always friendly and very helpful. They helped me find the right food for my dog after I first adopted her. They have fun seasonal and adoption events too. I took my English Bulldog to the Santa photo event one year and got the cutest photos taken!

First time coming here today, I was always curious what is the inside look like and self service bathe. All staff here are very friendly. I was greeted right when I can in. I told her it was my first time she showed me and explain everything to me how to do self service. I did not expect her giving me token for free she said since it's my first time it's free. Everyone is so helpful. I was confused what to do at first but they come and help. They also sell some dog food and toys. I recommend this place to all is you want to wash your dog here or buys some food or toys for your dog/cat some other animals too. Fast and convenient. 18 dollars per 25 minutes wash with 3 choices of shampoo/conditioner and they provide towel and you can dry them there too. I had fun here and coming back every month. Thank you all the people that works here.

We love Pet Food Express. Despite the very generic name , they actually carry more specialized and higher quality food products and goods then more of the more generic bigger box store brands. My pup deserves they best ! Sometimes we end up spending a small fortune on visits here , and it's totally worth it . A one stop shop for all his dietary needs and then some ! They have a nice assortment of toys , accessories, and a small section in the back for self serve baths and blow outs for your pups . So my dog does not care for grooming services of any sort , so I haven't tried it out, but good know that its available. They always have very friendly people working here and my dog always ends up getting a treat from someone working here . Everyone I have talked to is so knowledgeable about products. It's awesome I learn something new every time I talk to someone here . This fair old location is on our very favorite. We come here often . My dog loves shopping !!

Ask the Community - Pet Food Express

Do they have private bath areas for dogs that dont like other dogs?

I would say they're not "private" enough where you'll be secluded and not seen by anyone else but they're separated enough that two dogs won't reach other. There's also one shower area that's by itself compared to two shower areas that have two…

We have a very healthy one year old German Shepherd/Border Collie. My wife has handled most of our visits to Campus Commons Pet Hospital, and every time she came home feeling like we had paid for services or products we didn't really need. I always gave them the benefit of the doubt, but our most recent visit was the last straw. We received an email saying our dog was due for a teeth cleaning, so my wife scheduled the appointment. I took him in, expecting that was the reason for the visit. The veterinarian examined my dog and told me he was healthy. I then asked when they would be doing the teeth cleaning. He told me they weren't, because dental cleanings require anesthesia and a separate procedure. That completely caught me off guard because the appointment had been scheduled in response to their teeth cleaning email. The conversation then shifted to recommending flea, tick, and heartworm medications. Wanting the best for my dog, I initially agreed. When the technician returned with the invoice, it was over $600 for the exam and medications. I explained that we had come for a teeth cleaning, not a routine physical. They told me they had already completed the physical and that the teeth cleaning email was just an automatic reminder, so there was nothing they could do. I declined the medications but still had to pay around $400 for an exam I never intended to schedule. What frustrated me most wasn't the money. It was that the appointment seemed to be based on a misleading email, and there was no effort to resolve the misunderstanding or make things right. Maybe others have had a different experience, but after several visits that left us feeling pressured into additional services, this was enough for us. We won't be returning, and I would encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask very specific questions about exactly what is scheduled before bringing their pet in.

He's only about 3 months old now, so doggy daycare isn't an option. Luckily, we met Rick from East Sac Pet Pals and figured he might be able to help. It was super easy to set up an free consultation at our house. They're truly a local company, exclusively serving the McKinley Park and the Fab Forties areas. Rick drove up on his scooter wearing the Pet Pals "uniform" (a Pet Pals t-shirt) and after talking with him a while, we could tell that he and his wife, Debby, are in this business because of a true love for pets. He told us about the different services they offer, we signed the contract and handed over a spare key, then he came over and walked Nigel the very next day. When we got home that night, a report of how Nigel's day went was sitting on the table. East Sac Pet Pals isn't just for dog walking. They will also pet/house-sit if you're gone for stretches at a time. So if you live in this area and are looking for a dependable, honest, and down-to-earth pet pal, Rick and Debby are the ones to call.

We were repeatedly told that "so-and-so" trains service dogs to find that the trainer used a regimen for all dog training they wanted to sell us. They did not want to give our dog the individual attention he needed to acquire skills he did not have. Our dog, Polo, is a wonderful, smart dog who thrives on learning new commands, so the question was not, "Can the dog learn quickly"? but "Does the trainer know how to train the needed skills, and can s/he spend the time to train focused on the needed new skills?" When we finally found Lexy, we were so relieved. She comes to our home. She observes Polo for needed skills and talks to my wife about desired additional skills. With each new skill, Lexy tries a number of approaches to Polo to see what he responds to. For example, he is not mouth-oriented, so she is training him to fetch. "Fetch" is a step toward getting Polo to pick up a dropped item or grab a tie on a door to open it so my wife can drive through it in her electric wheelchair. Polo is learning commands specific to my wife's needs. The point: Lexy is smart, listens carefully to what the dog responds to (not one size fits all), is gentle, and adapts the training approach to get the desired result. Lexy is the only trainer we found that does this. She is a "dog listener." We highly recommend her.

Pros: they have a membership and you can choose 1 or 5 classes a month. These classes don't roll over if you don't use them - I made the mistake of thinking they do. They have a calendar where it lists the classes, time and topic. The calendar is a bit clunky and confusing so it takes a bit to figure out how to navigate. If they don't have too many people sign up and you need help in a certain area, they accommodate your request. They have answered my numerous questions and been very patient.
