But today at pet haven, he's his usually happy self! I didn't have an appointment but Steven took in Squirtle early in the morning and a couple hours later, he was ready to get picked up. I can tell this place really cares about the quality of their services so if it takes more than two hours, it's well worth it. Be patient! This is by far the cleanest Pet Grooming shop I have ever seen. The environment is near perfect with a friendly staff, adequate lighting, lots of room in the clean lobby and immaculate kennel area. Before finding this spot I had scheduled an appointment at my nearest Pets Mart (which is literally right behind my house) but after looking at the reviews I decided to look for a better groomer and I DEFINITELY made the right choice. First off, thank you Yelp community for all your reviews (even the bad ones) for this groomer! I absolutely love it here! This is a lengthy review but please read it if you have some time because it truly shows how much this establishment cares about our pups! I rescued a 9 year old yorkie (Max) yesterday and this little guy was in desperate need of a haircut. So I decided to utilize the Yelp community to help me look for a groomer. :) Pet Haven was only 3 miles from my home so I decided to give them a call even though it was already close to 2:45 pm today. Mike (the owner's father) answered and I explained my situation and he graciously accepted Max for the haircut and flea bath on the same day (YAY!). I dropped him off around 3:00pm and he was working on another dog at the time. Which at that moment, the owner of that dog walked in and threw a huge fit that it was already past 4 hours. All I have to say is RUDE! First off, grooming a dog is not easy. Secondly, she had a puppy which requires additional timing sometimes. So please, if you bring your dog in here, be understanding, patient and kind because this shop is pretty much a one man show and requires a lot of detail. Sorry, getting back on track here. I completed a card for Max and asked how long it would take since I saw online that they closed at 6:00pm. Mike said it would take a few hours and said he would call as soon as he was done. A few hours passed and I received a call around 6:30pm to pick up the little guy. I was so excited to see him! I walked in and saw that it was a younger gentleman, Steve, who is actually the owner of the Pet Haven. We chatted for a bit and I shared my story of Max with him. He was so generous to give me a collar and leash for Max since I literally had nothing because he was a rescue. I really appreciated it! He shared his personal story with me about a really bad car accident and that's why there were some negative reviews as far as timing. Which all made sense now and put this in perspective. Honestly, to me, the negative reviews didn't matter. As long as I know that my dog is taken care of and I had a great experience, that's all that mattered to me. Took my 5 month pup today and he looks adorable!!! I called this morning and they made time right away. Most importantly, he was ready to go by the time they said. Also, I gave the groomer a $10 tip because I was so happy with the cut. When I gave her the money she quickly told me that I was paying more then the grooming price and I had to explain I was tipping her. It made me think that maybe she wasn't use to tips, since usually the response is to just give change. Recently had a horrible experience at petsmart with my 1 year old border collie mix. He came home with cuts all over, poor boy :( So I decided to try out this place due to the fact that it has 5 stars! I'm very confused as to why this establishment and Steve keep getting five stars. Here's my first experience: I called and made a appointment for my puppy to be washed and shaved. Steve told me to come at 9am and that he would call me as soon as my pup was finished and that it should only take him a couple hours. So, I drop my pup off at 9am and by 2 o'clock I still haven't heard from him. I called and he told me the reason it was taking so long was because my dog was a puppy. That doesn't make any sense to me! My dog IS a puppy, half the size of every other dog that was in there! So at 4:30 I showed up to find out what was going on. They had my dog on the table, trying to blow dry him....at 4:30!!! Then, Steve walks over to the door and closes it on my face!! Saying he didn't want my dog to see me. Another gentlemen came out to tell my that my dog has been very difficult to wash and blow dry...because he is a puppy. You know what!!?? Don't take puppies if you can't handle them!!! 2nd experience: ( Now, I'm sure your asking why I went back. This place is right around the corner from my house, convenience. The place continued to get 5 stars so I thought since my pup was now 8 months, they could handle him better. I only needed him to be washed and his nails cut, so I would give them another try.) Well, jokes in me.... I called on Sunday afternoon and Steve answered the phone. I told him, I have a 8 month old Australia Sheppard, who needs to be washed and his nails cut. Steve replied, Can you bring him in at 10am?? So, I show up at 10am and no one is there. The whole place is locked up, no sign on. I called, no answer!! What a surprise!! I knew I shouldn't have tried to bring my dog back there and I can honestly say I will never give you a try again!! If any of you love your pup the way I do, then don't bring your dog here!! We have been a client of Steven's for over two and a half years and we wouldn't take our Sandy girl anywhere else. Steven and his team take excellent care of her and we know she is loved and pampered when she has her spa day. Everyone she meets loves her soft and silky coat. Steven goes out of his way for his customers when we took Sandy for her trim we had a family emergency and Steven was there saying he would care for Sandy as long as we needed. He takes so much time and care to ensure each dog or cat is treated with love and patience. Reading one negative review tells me maybe someone else needs a little compassion and understanding. All the other reviews are 5 stars and filled with positive stories and gratitude for Steven's professional care. Very bad, I called them to make sure if they had time before they close and they said they did have time and I went there right away. When I got there the guy left as soon as I left and there was a kind old woman who I gave my dog to wash. I'm not a pro at this but I've been to other pet grooming and they take a while to do this. She only took less than 10 minutes to give my dog a bath. I was very surprised that she was going so quickly, and only two brushes were given to my dog. I don't know if they wanted to close quickly that's why they were so fast and gave me a bad service. I will not come back here again. My dog looked like he just got into a street dog fight, his hair everywhere, he was crying when he was in there. I won't be back and that's for sure. read more

Steven is amazing! I am fostering a husky mix for Dogs on Deployment so we have only had him for a few months. He definitely does not like water we have found out. However, I called and made an appointment with Steven and 7 hours later he smelled so good and looked ready for a photo shoot! He has an extremely thick undercoat, so much of the time was spent drying and brushing! This is the only place for us. Jack came home acting like he had been to the doggie park all day. Hands down the best groomers ever. Steven was so nice and generous. We took Tobi in an hour before they closed and he stayed after until 6pm to get Tobi all nice and clean. He said that Tobi was difficult to work with but I'm really happy with the outcome because my puppy looks so much better now. Tobi is a hard time because he is very squeamish and jumpy. He also barked a lot when he saw Steven, so I'm really glad Steven did the best he could to help Tobi. By the time we picked Tobi up, he didn't even want to leave Steven! Steven is a fantastic dog groomer. I brought my Mini Schnauzer in here once and he did an absolutely fantastic job. The only downfall I can say is that it took longer than expected to get my dogs haircut (approx 2 hrs). He seemed busy with other dogs (about 2 dogs before my dog). So I'll give him that he was busy. Nonetheless, I'll be returning again. Can't beat $40 dog haircut and wash. Make sure to de-matte your dog beforehand so you won't get charged extra. read more

Yelped a new groomer in my area since one of my dogs passed away last week and I didn't want to take Bandit there without his brother since they've been going there together for the last 8 years. Maybe that's weird of me, but we can save that conversation for another day. I called right when they opened to ask if they were booked. They didn't answer but immediately called back and said that they could take him. The place was very easy to find. Since it was our first time, there was a card to fill out with your info, dogs info, and vet info. I didn't get the gentleman's name but I want to say he was the father cause I overheard him telling another customer that his son does most of the grooming work. Anyway, he asked what I wanted to be done with Bandit. Since Bandit was long overdue for a cut, I just said that shaving him might be the easiest, and that it didn't really matter to me. He replied "we'll do something cute, clean him up a bit." I said okay! And went on with my day. I dropped him off at 10 and picked him up a little past 5. This was normal, don't expect to drop your dog off and get them back in 2 hours. There's soooo many other dogs there too, so fill your day with things to do, or just go home and relax! I seriously didn't even recognize Bandit when I went to pick him up! He had never had a cut like this and it seriously melted my heart. He looked so adorable! They did such a good job. Maybe it's just me, but Bandits mood even changed for the better, it's just what he needed. I think we've found our new regular groomer. :) read more

Today I decided to take my dog to the groomers for the first time. I researched some places nearby my house, and saw the rave reviews this place had, and decided this was the best place to get his first groom. I was iffy at first since my dog can be a bit fussy during bath time, and I've heard of some dogs coming back nipped in the skin... Steve is amazing. I work with a rescue and brought in a Maltese that was super matted, it was no problem. He was wonderfully sweet with my dogs, they were happy when I picked them up, and the facility was clean and organized. You can also understand the groomer, which can be difficult in this area. I will be making this my forever groomer. ****the only thing that you should know it that the hours to pick up are flexible, so if you are on a tight schedule please make sure to tell him that. EX. I said that he could have my pets all day if needed they were not ready till 6pm even though he closes at 4pm. read more

Steven and his dad are big animal lovers. They take pride in making sure that all obligations are met. They do a great job: We usually get our dog washed here and let me tell you.... after a month, she is still smelling great (granted it's a small dog). We will also get her fur trimmed and nails trimmed as well which in my opinion looks great. The pricing is fair but the turn-around time is a bit lengthy (Drop her off at opening time and have to wait until 5 or 6pm).
