We had quite a few good experiences bringing our boys there for day care. However, when we went on our 10 day vacation, things didn't go so well. Keep in mind we paid EXTRA for a large suite so our boys would be kenneled at night together and comfortable. We had also set up for a friend go pick up our boys early. I had notified the faculty ahead of time of this (at drop off), and advised them to charge 'our card' upon pick up (not hers), while verifying with the receptionist that they had our card on file, and left her name. Upon her arrival for pick up of our boys, my friend had to call me (luckily I had reception even tho we were out in a remote hike). She said they wouldn't let her pick up (take) the boys unless she paid. I had to call them! They stated my card nor instructions I said I had left, were NOT on file. I reiterated how I even had receptionist who helped me at 'drop off' double check all that and she had assured me it was all there. I had to give my card again over the phone while on vacation, so they would let my friend take our boys. Once home with our boys, my friend calls again that our littlest guy had an open wound on his nose. Also did not look like medications were fully administered and food. I had individually separated their food bags, by name, days, breakfast and dinner, into zip lock bags. They never grabbed them according to dates. The dates on the bags left with (and without) food were all over the place. Not a huge deal except there was food left over and no way of knowing if one of them went without eating a day or more. Had they followed the dates on each bag, I would have been able to see if they both ate daily or which pup had a bad day and wouldn't eat etc. The report given to us after pick up was sweet, but no mention of what happened to our little one's nose, medications, or food. Keep in mind we paid more for their nicer rooms for our boys and to keep them together. The nose incident appeared to us it could have been that our little one was stressed out and sticking his nose under the kennel door wanting out or trying to tell them something like having to pee, poop, or hungry etc. This place is beautiful and for the most part, the staff was always friendly and seemed attentive, but they did have a very large number of staff, mostly young people, and I just feel they need to screen them better before hiring and monitor them with regular quarterly reviews. The nose incident it was really tore us up and keep us from ever using the facility again. When advised them, they did not offer to reimburse. Not good customer service practice when a little one comes home injured! Please keep in mind this was about 3 years ago so things may have possibly changed by now. I wish I had kept the photos of little guys nose to post here. Just be diligent and very aware if take your pups to ANY day care. read more

Continue to love Pet Paradis Fort Myers location. My boy, Badger has been going there since 2020 for day camp 2-3 times weekly, along with many weekly boarding times throughout the past 4 years. I have never had any problems with the care they give my fur-baby. If I do have any questions they are always willing to listen and answer all questions I may have. Trusting vets with your pets can be hard, but I have had nothing but good experiences with the vets and vet techs at pet paradise. This morning I woke up to find Ruby swollen. I tried calling the office but they weren't open yet. I got there 10 till 9 and they were able to help right away even though I didn't have an appointment. They gave her some shots to help and sent me on my way. They made me feel important and cared for and made me feel like ruby was a priority. It was so great to be able to take her here instead of a pet emergency hospital. read more

Pros: dogs were alive, fed, and in good spirits Cons: When checking out, they had no idea where my dogs were. Upon locating my dogs, they tried to give them to another couple and seemed genuinely surprised when they found out what dogs they were and who owned them. In addition to all of this, despite being charged for a bath for both and a brush out for one (to be done at 3 PM and 3:30 PM) neither appeared to have occurred (I picked them up at about 4:15). Please also reference Paige M. review. My dog Mochi was boarded with Pet Paradise for three nights and we also purchased all day play for our little guy (29.9 lb golden-doodle... not so little). We were told that a 29 pound dog would go with the larger dogs. Once we arrived they told us that he would have to go with smaller dogs. We let that slide. While we were away, we checked the cameras, and on a few occasions, we noticed that Mochi was not outside being allowed to play. When we called, we were told they were short-staffed. Other reviews have stated they were told the same thing when confronted. When we picked him up today, the young lady wanted to charge us for all day play today. Then I mentioned to her on our whole drive home, we reviewed the cameras and he was never outside. Meaning that our dog was left in a kennel all day and not allowed to go out. She didn't question it and said oh I'm sorry. When he was brought out to us, the stench was so overwhelming. He was drenched in urine. Once we got to the car, we noticed he had feces and gnats all over him. So does the staff actually clean the kennels while the dogs are there or are the dogs required to lay and move around in their own urine and feces while in the kennel? Because this is not something that has ever happened with our dog at any other boarding facility. The photos that I'm posting shows a dog, the same size in the larger dog area when we were told ours couldn't be in there. In addition, it shows how filthy our little guy was once we left and what extreme we had to go through to take care of him once we got home due to the lack of care provided by staff and management. "Paradise" is laughable; I'm sure my dog lived in a nightmare while he stayed here. I drop my dog Mochi off on Friday (12/29) and picked him up Monday afternoon (1/1). My dog is 29.9 pounds (almost 30). We were told he seemed too small to go with the larger dogs. But they said they could try him with the larger dog group and see how he does. Great! He LOVES other dogs and often plays with dogs the size of those in the large group so I assumed we wouldn't have an issue. I get a txt saying that my dog is SCARED of the large dogs. Lies. My dog has never in his life been scared of another dog. He is a goldendoodle with so much energy he doesn't know what to do with it. He would play with a bear if I let him. However, I didn't feel like arguing since they may take it out on him, so I let that slide. I look at the webcam Saturday to see what he's up to. He's not outside. I leave it a bit and check again...still not outside. I call asking why he isn't out when we pay for all day play. The excuse? They were short staffed. That's funny because it seemed ALL other small dogs were outside so where was my dog? After I called asking where he was I see him outside only a matter of minutes later. Didn't seem like they were as short staff as they claimed since they handled that quickly. I keep watch on the webcam since I want him to have fun while he's there and I enjoy watching my pup play. I find that the person in the play area with him is completely ignoring him. He often follows people around seeking pets and attention. So of course this happened with the individual outside. They then got down to pet and praise other dogs but left my dog out. Interesting. I made note and left that as well. Here's where I'm not as quiet. I check on him Monday on the drive home multiple times. Note, we had all day play scheduled for Monday as well. My dog was nowhere in sight outside AT ALL. From 11-3 I checked the cameras and saw all dogs but my dog. Now I'm livid. We get there to pick him up and my anger gets even worse when I see and smell the condition of my dog. He smelled like dog pee. I am not exaggerating, I thought he had peed right on me from how strong it was. Then I look at his paws and they are SOAKED. Wasn't water. How do I know? He stepped in the car and got a paw print on the center console that stunk of dog urine. Now I'm concerned. How is a dog COVERED in dog urine? Yes, he's a hyper boy, but he has NEVER (what I imagine it would've taken to smell this bad) ROLLED AROUND in his or another dog's urine. I get him home and start looking him over and he is COVERED in dog feces. Here's another red flag, since he is very careful to avoid his own feces when walking outside, so how is it he's covered in it now? I have provided photos where I had to chop off hair to get the feces off since it had matted his hair and was unremovable.... What makes it worse, is that gnats were living in those mats in his fur, bothering him and causing him to chew himself raw.... You could barely touch his rear without him whining. I go to give him a bath, and to just get the stench off his body, I had to scrub and rinse him 3 times with 3 different products. He was so exhausted he could barely stand while bathing him. I got him all cleaned and dried and started to get his toys and treats out of the basket we had provided. I'm glad I washed his toys the day before I dropped him off, because now I know FOR SURE that he wasn't given ANY of his toys while he stayed there. Why tell me to bring his toys if your staff doesn't care enough to give them to him? If he stunk that badly I'm sure his toys would've looked and smelled just as poorly. His treats were also not touched. I can make assumptions about what went on behind the webcams, and I can say I see now why they don't have webcams in the kennel areas. My dog was covered in urine and feces because his kennel was NOT cleaned once while he was there, OR they didn't take him outside to use the bathroom while he was there; no other explanation because he is a pampered goldendoodle who wouldn't willingly do that to himself. He did not get any toys/treats while there so I'm made to wonder if they simply took the proportioned food bags and threw those away instead of feeding him. My dog was mistreated here and I will never come back. I will be taking him to the vet to ensure nothing else happened to him there that is not visible. I truly hope these people get the karma that is coming to them. How dare you treat my dog that way and have the audacity to smile as me like nothing happened? read more

Can't forget about the ice cream you can add on, making the day extra special for them. 100% recommend adding on the report card for only $10 and they send you the cutest photos! The dog to human ratio is awful. Obviously there is a reason they make you sign over and over again that your dog is spayed or neutered. There is absolutely no reason my female dog should have been mounted and penetrated within her first 30 minutes there. I am absolutely disgusted with this facility. I have never had such a horrible experience from a boarding/vet. After watching this happen, I asked for her to be placed in a VIP suite and for individual play only.. the man working the desk acted disgusted with me. Prior to her being attacked my poor girl asked for pets numerous times and was ignored. This was all with me standing and watching in the lobby so I can only imagine what happens in that massive pack of dogs when owners leave. To top it off my dogs came home with 6 fleas on them. Disgusting is an understatement. So not only did my pups have a bad day; we were up all night scrubbing them down and making sure the travelers didn't contaminate my house. Then we had to pay for a lovely vet bill to make sure they were going to be in the clear. read more

Michelle is THE BEST! Our pup has been to PP a few times to play and he loves it! No huge complaints-- until I got word that they had to cancel a grooming appointment because the groomer we were assigned to was over-booked. It was going to be our first time trying out PP for our grooming, even though they are more expensive than our typical groomer. After many questions, I learned that it was due to an app that allows others to freely make last minute appointments that seem to take precedence over those who took the time to call in and book an week early. I was upset. Somehow we were still able to get in for our original appointment and the day was saved. My intention is not to complain, but to say THANK YOU to the staff that was able to navigate through the confusion and introduce us to our first- time groomer, Michelle. This app confusion is a corporate problem, not a Ft. Myers staff problem. Corporate & Management, PLEASE fix this! Because we'd like to visit again... I can't thank Michelle enough for taking care of our pup, Phil. We've been to other groomers before and we were happy with them, but Michelle set a whole new standard for us. Garbage company. If I could give negative stars I would. If they refuse your pets for any reason you will not get your deposit back. We booked our dogs for boarding and were told they were good to go. Over the phone by an employee. When we dropped the dogs off the day of travel we were told their vaccines had expired. Ok...too late to do anything with the vet clinic. So obviously they refused the dogs. Because we didn't cancel within 7 days they won't give us our 100$ back. we have been going to this location since May. Out dogs Ella and Cody sprint in to go play. We have even had them there for 2 weeks and next summer they will be there 3 weeks. They have a vet on premises so that's always a plus. I see lots of people have given them bad ratings but we are happy with them. The place has plenty of staff which is good. First - I have used Pet Paradise Jacksonville for the last 5 years, I guess they really set the bar high... because the service level has always been exceptional. I feel like when I drop my baby girl off , she's with family. BUT PET PARADISE FT MYERS IS A JOKE. I requested a boarding reservation in advance and heard nothing back, spent the next day on 45 mins on hold waiting for someone to pick up the phone. After finally confirming my reservation, the next day we go to drop her off , and they say she was booked at another location. YAY! You guys rock. But wait it gets better.. we leave and go to check the email confirmation and it clearly says Ft Myers. After debating whether or not we even wanted to drop her off at this point, we decide to give them ANOTHER CHANCE, we go back in, and they MIRACULOUSLY find the reservation this time. Im glad we went back in, they weren't going to call me back or come out after us, but we decide to drop her off. We call the day before we are suppose to pick her up, let them know we will be there first thing 9AM WHEN YOU OPEN TO GET OUR BABYGIRL. The girl goes "oh yea no problem I have made a note in your account we will see you tomorrow morning!" We pull up to pick her up at 9AM... they have our husky in the pool. YAY! Now we either get to take our baby home wet or wait another hour to blow her dry. I mean you guys clearly rock! Dropped off my dogs today to get groomed and what a fiasco!!! The one that got groomed, if you can call it that, is nowhere near what a professional dog groomer should do. The other did not even get touched all day. A total fiasco over the phone, at least they offered to try another groomer but not for at least a week!!! Had reservations for our two dogs since early June for three summer visits at Fort Myers location. Had used them before. First one in early July was perfect. We then were heading on another trip 2nd weekend of August, leaving on a Friday. Got the regular email saying they were happy our dogs were coming back, etc. on Tuesday. Thursday they called and stated they would no longer take one of our dogs due to her being on anti-seizure meds. New policy they told us. THE DAY BEFORE OUR DROP OFF! Our dog has not had a seizure in years (the meds obviously work). Ended up only one of us going to see the grandchildren and one stayed home, losing a flight as it was non-refundable. Ever tried to find a place the day before? The third trip we had them booked for was Labor Day weekend, two weeks later. Once again, no way we could find another place this late in the game on a holiday weekend. Lost another non-refundable ticket. Canceling these visits due to a "policy change" the day before one of the trips is horrendous business. Cancelling two visits is flat out pathetic. Don't use them. read more

I like this place. We came from Fort Lauderdale where there was a lot of boarding options that were good quality but the staff, and facility here were really great. I understand puppers get their pads worn down with all the play but really that's a common side effect to playful, happy dogs. Our little pup was very stimulated, had comfortable quarters, and although licked her paws at night on the cam, was still happy and well taken care of. We left her for several days and would not hesitate doing it again. We also used the vet services there and found them helpful. I do wish there was a better phone system but I understand they have to check in/out, watch dogs, etc.. It can be fuzzy chaos I'm sure. I recommend this facility and will be back fur sure. read more

Let me start by saying I'd give a 4 or 5 star for the actual services received. We feel the care (boarding, vet, grooming) themselves are very good. My frustrations are with 1. Reservation process...it's frustrating that when you make an appt for a service on line, and then want to add something or make an adjustment, you need to cancel the original service and re-do the whole thing with the change/addition. 2. Check in process...as a regular customer who identifies when we will drop the dogs off, we often wait 15 minutes or more for check-in. We often are on our way to the airport when we drop them off so timing is important. Despite having multiple check in "lanes", generally only one is open. 3. Cancelling of grooming service ... this happened the last two times our dogs were were scheduled for full grooms. The cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice. Then getting another much needed grooming scheduled appt is not open for a few weeks out. 4. Lastly, when calling in, a person answers. You get directed to Voicemail. Seems like these are staffing issues for a very busy place! read more

He has bad separation anxiety so anytime I need to go anywhere he needs a sitter 24/7. Anyway he came back with kennel cough And gave it to all my other animals costing me around $150-200 ish a dog to treat. I have a ton of dogs. needless to say it was a pricy short stay. Other than that it's a great place for him. I just wish their was accountability if your Dog gets sick under their care. Of note all my dogs are fully vaccinated, but guess that doesn't protect them 100%. Also of note. I can never reach anyone by phone there. I was pleased to find this place to board my active dog. However on the free day of daycare, the staff showed complete negligence. She enjoyed playing in the pool, but they let her continue playing all day until her paw pads on all four feet completely peeled off. She couldn't even hobble out to the car when I picked her up - I had to carry her. They also did not apologize and the man who handed her back to me was bold enough to state that this was a "COMMON PROBLEM" for new dogs in their care! Well, genius, if this is a reoccurring issue that wet paw pads all day causes a problem, then why don't you prevent that by not allowing a pup to stay in the pool ALL DAY? Give them breaks in a kennel to dry off for Pete's sake! They didn't offer to help with the vet bill either and I ended up having to leave my poor baby to be boarded at the vet's office so that she could be bandaged, given anti inflammatories and antibiotics, and cared for properly. She will not be healed completely to resume her active lifestyle for 4-8 weeks while her paw pads regrow. Like they say, nothing is ever free in life - this was not a FREE day of daycare for me at all. I left feedback on their email survey they sent me and NO ONE has called me. We will not patronize again. Poisonous Oleanders are planted around the front of dog kennel. Check-in staff, thorough, friendly, professional. Our last two occasions within a month our, at checkout our dog's feeding bowl was not returned to us. Both times I waited perhaps 15 min for them to find the bowl. 2nd boarding I forgot to label blanket and bowl.; my fault. The boarding pickup, the desk employee on the cash register was unfriendly, cold like demeanor to another at the Ft desk. Whe searching for my dogs blanket " If their name isn't on the blanket we just throw it in the machine and wash them together". My 6 year old female dog came home 3 pounds less, conjunctivitis and a UTI[for the 1st time]. She was so sick and I went to our vet 3 times to get her well. Costly stay and no real help from managers who reported how wonderful she was doing. Also she came home with a reverse cough. Still waiting to hear from manager who said she'd get back to me. They are the most expensive daycare in the area and I assume it's because they have a big in-ground pool for the dogs. But they don't even tell you when the pool is closed and the dogs won't be able to use it that day. Phoebe is our new pride and joy. Being an "only child" this smart Standard Poodle needs more than we can give her, and that's where Pet Paradise comes in. Phoebe and I took the tour and were impressed. However, she is timid, so she will only visit periodically for half days until she is more comfortable with the environment. We only boarded our dog here 2 full nights, 4 days total and what a disaster. Miscommunication throughout the whole process...main one being that they never let us know that he was going to be in a "one-on-one" setting. Website (at the time of booking) noted any dogs intact and over 6 months will be assessed if they can be put with the play group or not. Our dog was 5 months when the boarding was booked, 6 months when we boarded him. He was not put with the play group...only reason we boarded him here. Constantly checked the cameras and never saw him, called the day before pick up to see how he was doing and when his play times/outside times were. They couldn't give me an answer but said he was fine... The big issue is when we went to pick up our pup. Called 4 hours in advance to let them know we were picking him up 2 hours early, clerk said not a problem and it is noted. We got our pup back - he stunk of urine and feces, he was caked in his own poop from chin to tail, his rear end was a completely different color from the matted poop for 3 days. So we never got the free bath that was included with boarding. We never got his toy, blanket, nor extra food back or a "paw-gress" report that was promised. After getting him home and bathed we noticed he had a full body rash, uncontrollable itching and diarrhea...and he started coughing that night. We immediately called this "resort" to tell them what happened and for an explanation and they simply couldn't give us one and refunded us $50..thanks. After a trip to the vet the next day, it was confirmed that he did contract Kennel Cough (he's vaccinated and it is mandatory to board here), and he had fleas...which could have been prevented but they took his flea collar off the entire time. A week later, a manager from this "resort" reached out about our poor survey result from corporate and offered to refund our entire stay along with comping vet bills. She also stated that nothing was noted in our dog's file about his diarrhea, early pick up, or that he was due for a bath. Two weeks later they called and said corporate will not comp our vet bill "because every dog leaves there with some form of Kennel Cough"!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I wasn't looking nor expected to be comped but this response is ridiculous, why have the dogs get vaccinated if this is the case??? Minutes after I get off the phone with them I got an email that they raised the price for "one-on-one" boarding and daycare an extra $20 so they can give your dog more attention, what a joke. This place is super unprofessional, unorganized and simply not educated on animals enough. I will not use any Pet Paradise again. Very unfortunate because they just opened a branch by my office and day care there would have been convenient....not if my dog is locked in a cage all day with no interaction. *disclaimer: review has been written 1 month after our dog's stay* read more

Absolutely abysmal company. Not only is there a lack of communication within the company itself, but with the customers. If you want to sit on hold for 30 minutes and then go straight to voicemail (and never get a call back) this is the place for you! Not only the communication issues, but employee issues as well. Every person I spoke to was unprofessional and had 0 idea what was going on. I took my two cats here, and granted it is there first time going somewhere like this, but my cats where treated horribly. I was watching the cameras one night and witnessed an employee flipping off my cats while they where locked in the cages. Now if thats happening on CAMERA what is happening when my cats are taken off camera. If I could give this place a 0 stars I would. read more

Finding the right place to board your dog is difficult, but pet paradise eases me anxiety. When I take my Frankie home he always is happy, content and worn out. It's so nice to be able to watch him on the cameras when I'm away to know he is doing well. He gets so excited when I drop him off which this is the place he loves going to. The staff are phenomenal, the manager helped me tremendously and I recommend pet paradise to everyone I know. Of course, my little yorkie leaves a little smelly from all the play time, but for how happy he is going there a bath when he gets home is so easy. Cannot thank the staff enough!! read more

This establishment is extremely unprofessional. We had a trip planned for weeks and our dog injured himself two days prior to the board stay. I called to verify it was still ok for him to stay (he had a cut on his leg and needed stitches) the man that answered the phone said "yes that should be totally fine" when we arrived the morning of our trip to drop the dogs off they said they do not allow dogs with stitches. My heart stopped because we had a few hours until we were supposed to be on a flight. I explained that I had called the day prior to verify it was ok. They said the man that answered was training to be a SUPERVISOR! How in the hell doesn't he know the rules for the facility is beyond me or wh y he wouldn't clarify with someone if he didn't know the answer. I was confused as to why they don't take dogs that have stitches seeing as they have their own veterinary services. Why would they turn away a client utilizing multiple services is beyond me. It's just bad business. They can't handle a dog with stitches? That's scary. They told us to find a friend to watch the dogs. Well I just moved here from MA I don't just have a friend to watch my two 70 pound dogs last minute. They were not helpful at all and did not care we were losing out on a $7,000 trip. It was the worst experience and handled very poorly. And like I said that day we will never be back and they lost our business.
