None of them had ever been boarded much less had a pet sitter so we were a little nervous, both for our puppies and for Sharon. She was recommended by friends and put us at ease immediately. She came to our house to meet all the babies on 2 separate occasions prior to the actual start of pet sitting. She recommended staying with our crew as easier on them (and her), and it was a fantastic idea. She sent us pictures and videos of everyone and communicated what the babies were up to daily while we were away. We did not worry AT ALL while we were gone. The peace of mind was priceless. We are so happy we found Sharon and 100% recommend her.

We have taken are puppy to Pearland Barkway since his first cut and have gone quite a few times since. The front desk employees are always great and detailed, and today was no different. The reason I am leaving this review is just provide feedback about my experience and how I left feeling. When dropping off Lio, my boyfriend and I are super specific about how we cut his hair, because he's a poodle a mix and the cut usually defines that. When I was asked about the cut for today, I asked if we can just do the same as last time. The woman up front even went to find the sheet from a filing cabinet and called the groomer to the front to discuss it with me. She asked if I wanted a "4" all around and I said if that's what he got last time then yes. She copied a few notes from his last sheet to today's sheet. When I picked him up, I was very surprised and didn't even recognize Lio to be honest. I didn't say anything other greet him and give him some love, up until I asked if everything looked good. I said it was muncher shorter than what I expected and again she was kind enough to bring out the sheets and call the groomer out. I showed a video of what Lio looked like when he got his haircut a month ago to the groomer. She said this is what a "4" all around is and I replied I don't know all the terminology about grooming but this is not what he looked like last time. A second receptionist pointed out that his last sheet had notes on there that indicated to keep his hair long in a particular style that obviously were not taken into consideration. I told them, well his hair is gone and I asked well what can I ask for next time so that we can get what we wanted. They pulled out the sheet and made notes with me to ensure next cut would be better. Throughout this conversation, they weren't at all rude but I felt like the groomer realized she had made a mistake. She didn't apologize but said the last sheet had a lot of notes and made it confusing. I also felt it was odd to charge a customer before seeing how the grooming went. I wasn't expecting anything but offering some sort of refund or discount on my next cut seemed fitting due to how much hair they cut off of my puppy. I know in the future to provide photos and be EXTREMELY descriptive. I'm also going to request a different groomer next time we come in. I went ahead and uploaded two photos. One is from a month ago from his last cut and today's; I'm sure you'll see the difference.

Despite her grumpiness, my baby always stepped out of Preppy Pets looking gorgeous, smelling great and within a very quick timeframe. RIP to my precious girl. I very recently adopted another fur kiddo and knew Preppy Pets would take just as great care of her. She's also much calmer and more easygoing. Wow, did they do an excellent job! I nearly cried seeing my dog. They had my baby looking like a whole new doggy! I'm so happy to have such a great grooming salon for my pup. Everyone there is so kind, helpful, great at their job and seem to truly care about your dog. They also have great prices and often run specials. Additionally, they never pressure you on the tips. I always try to hook them up but sometimes it helps with budgeting, especially in this economy, to not have tipping pressure. I'll also add that I love that they let the dogs run around and play so your dog gets some socialization and exercise in with their groom. However, they will also keep your dog in a kennel if you prefer. Additionally I love how easy it is to schedule an appointment. They text you reminders at just the right time and with a simple reply your dog's appointment is set. It's also very convenient that they keep your payment info on file. If you look back at my previous review photos, you'll see the PERFECT schnauzer cut they used to do. Consistent. Professional. Distinguished little gentleman energy. Recently though, scheduling became nearly impossible. Every conversation sounded like: "Let me confirm if our groomer is actually working that day..." After weeks of trying to coordinate schedules, my schnauzer's hair got longer than ever. He loves wearing shirts, so yes, he had some matting. I paid extra for de-matting and gave very clear instructions: shave the skirt, but keep a full beard along with his chest and paws fluffy. Y'all... when I picked him up, I genuinely did not recognize my own dog. He walked in looking like a miniature schnauzer and walked out looking like a scrappy chihuahua named Peanut. They shaved EVERYTHING. His entire body, his face, even his whiskers. HIS WHISKERS. WTF. I know hair grows back and thankfully it's summer, but I honestly felt bad for him. As someone with longer hair myself, if somebody sat me down and buzzed me to the skin without warning, I'd probably need emotional support and a hoodie for a month. My dog still seems happy and unbothered, but I'm traumatized enough for both of us. After years of loyalty, this was incredibly disappointing and totally unacceptable. We will never come back..

From the first stay, I could tell they actually understand dogs, not just watch them. He came back relaxed, clean, and acting like himself, which says everything.
