We love pet power! We've been loyal customers since the first week they opened -- and we'll continue to support! Not only do they have the best customer service and vibes but they have the highest quality pet foods and treats! They are extremely knowledgeable as well! Highly recommend!

I did research on where to take my dog for a spay for years…read more It was very stressful reading studies, forums, and different opinions on whether we should do a traditional spay, an OSS, or ultimately a laparoscopic ovariectomy (LOVE spay). After a lot of research, we decided the LOVE spay was the best option for our girl. I came across Dr. Ryan Tedder at Coastal Animal Hospital. I was nervous about the procedure, but wow, this doctor is an absolute GEM. If only everyone was like him! He took the time to fully explain the LOVE spay procedure, answered all of our questions, and eased every doubt we had. The day came, and it was a successful surgery. Dr. Tedder called afterward, walked us through exactly how everything went, and when we picked her up, he went through everything again with us and explained her recovery. This is a far drive for us, but we will absolutely make it every single time if it means receiving this level of care for our girl. If you're worried about the LOVE spay or are thinking about this clinic, I promise you this is the right place. The staff is great, with the all-star Dr. Tedder manning the helm. Thank you for taking such amazing care of our girl.

Everyone from the front desk staff, to the nurses, to the doctors were amazing and so helpful! Even though they were closing and it was later in the evening, they took their time with us and helped us get a diagnosis. The doctor took his time to explain all possible scenarios of what could have happened and made sure we were in the know about our dog's current situation. Amazing experience all around, I am considering transferring my pet to have this be her primary care office. You can tell they care and are willing to help in times most needed!

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this vet office and would strongly caution…read moreothers before bringing their pets here, especially if you have a working dog breed. During our visit with Dr. Hackett, I felt like I was unnecessarily alarmed and pushed toward additional testing that turned out to be completely unnecessary. I brought in my two dogs, including my Border Collie, whose heart rate Dr. Hackett immediately treated as a serious concern. She made it sound like something could be very wrong and suggested multiple tests to rule out an emergency situation. My border collie also gets seizures which I told Dr. Hackett about and she told me she thought they are fainting spells due to his low heart rate, not seizures. Which I also got confirmations he definitely has seizures and nothing else like she suggested. After leaving very worried, I sought second opinions from other veterinarians. They all reassured me that my Border Collie's heart rate was completely normal for the breed and that they have seen even lower heart rates in athletic dogs like him despite his seizures. What was presented to me as potentially alarming was actually very typical. The same thing happened with my senior dog. Dr. Hackett told me her kidney and liver values were elevated and strongly pushed further testing, making it sound urgent. When I had another vet review the labs, they explained the values were only slightly elevated and extremely common in older dogs. They even told me she is far more likely to pass from old age before those numbers would ever reach liver failure levels. They also mentioned the slight elevation could simply be due to her high-protein diet. The experience left me feeling like fear was used to push unnecessary testing rather than providing balanced, knowledgeable guidance. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress and extra expense. Because of this, I would personally recommend seeking care elsewhere and getting a second opinion if you are ever told something is urgently wrong here.

My cat Charlie required immediate care and ultimately surgery on 8-13-25. I was so scared that I…read morewas going to lose Charlie. He hid in a large bush but was meowing in pain. He finally came out a few hours later, with help from several neighbors. He needed urgent help and I started at my neighborhood vet, Rancho San Carlos Pet Clinic. Charlie and I were offered immediate assistance. All of the staff were so kind and showed great care as we determined Charlie's injuries. They were calm, and therefore, he was calm. After X-rays and CT of his organs, he showed that he had no broken bones or punctured organs/internal bleeding! However, he did require reattachment of his skin to his bones on one of his hind legs and stitches on his other leg. A huge thanks to Dr. Halsey and her team and we were sent quickly to Tell Tail Moonlight Veterinary Center in Encinitas, where they were ready and waiting for Charlie! The office staff was also very kind and caring and the facility is very clean-I didn't even detect that it was a veterinary center with my nose. Dr. Soares was very thoughtful and thorough explaining the surgery plan, and her team successfully completed the surgery, as well as a toe amputation. They worked on him well past closing time. Veterinary angels, if you ask me! Hands down, I would give my highest recommendation to both of these businesses for your veterinary needs. I saw a lot of happy pets and happy owners that day while I waited for Charlie! I'm a huge fan!

Every single time, every vet here is awesome & steller!…read more We had an emergency need today and couldn't believe they were open on a Sunday too when we called (thinking we'd be leaving them a message)! What other vet is open on a Sunday besides an emergency vet?! Love ALL the staff-knowledgeable, professional, kind, caring & nice! The tech before the vet came in, asked really good questions to help understand the issue. Loved that Dr. Greenfield got down on the floor to greet our little boy AND remembered what he treated him last for over 1/2 a year ago. Asking update questions. Both natural help & medical from their vets. Only took seconds for Dr. Greenfield to figure out what caused our little boy Cashew's issue by asking us the perfect questions and info that triggered us to give the issue's answer. He gave us a natural suppliment to help that they had there. Once home, our little boy is regular again and feeling so much better. The BEST vet clinic ever! Seriously! We've had so many bad, thank God we found this place and Dr. Sheila again too!

When I called, the receptionist first placed me on hold. After returning, I explained my bird's symptoms -- he has been unusually quiet, puffed up, and having watery droppings for about two weeks. She then asked if I was a new client, and after I said yes, I was placed on hold again. A while later, she returned and told me I should take my bird to an emergency vet. I asked why, since although he is not acting normally, he is still eating and moving around. She simply repeated that because I said he was not well, I needed to go to emergency care. I explained that I was trying to schedule a regular appointment, not emergency treatment, so once again I was placed on hold. Eventually, the avian specialist came on the phone and informed me that if I wanted an appointment, I would need to pay $120 in advance for exams in order to secure it. The entire interaction felt dismissive, confusing, and very impersonal. Instead of feeling supported or guided, I felt pressured and frustrated. I ultimately decided to take my bird somewhere else.
