They have a good amount of items to offer and it's all well organized and the overall store is clean and well-kept. They also had some animals for adoption - a few cats, fish, turtles, birds, ferrets, hamsters, etc. All of them seem well cared for, active, and had clean areas. A small yet decent pet store located in Winter Park. Usually there are 2 or 3 people working when I stop in and they are always nice and helpful. The store carries a little bit of most of the basics for most common pets including cats, dogs, fish and other aquatic animals, birds, reptiles, etc. The prices are fairly reasonable and in-line with most other typical pet store chains. They will do a free aquarium water test for you if you bring in a small water sample. There is plenty of parking in the plaza parking lot making it easily accessible and convenient for running other errands simultaneously. My first time shopping here the other day. I was looking for a new dry cat and immediately when I walked in I was greeted. The guy behind the counter asked if I needed any assistance and I did need some recommendations. This was by far the best customer service I've ever experienced at a pet store. He really explained the products well. The only reason I didn't end up buying anything was that I wanted a dry food I could also get at petsmart or petco. I didn't want to limit myself to only shopping at Pet Supermarket and they had a lot of brands only sold there. Also, be prepared the store felt a bit warm. Abusive practices. Betta fish should not be kept in small bowls like this. They need AT LEAST 2.5 gallons of water each and a filter to keep the tank clean. If you don't have the space to keep betta fish properly in your store then do not sell them. Multiple betta fish on this shelf were dead, and several bowls were visibly dirty, which is extremely unappealing, so how is this even good for business? If you are interested in buying a fish I highly recommend you go to a store specializing in fish where the bettas are kept properly. The parakeet and gerbil displays were also depressingly small, though at least none of those animals were dead, yet. I understand that Pet Supermarket is a chain and ethics are not their top priority, but the least they could do is refrain from outright animal abuse. read more

Signs say sale, employers say no! When pointed out they became dismissive saying there's nothing we can do about it, have a nice day. I remained in a calm voice saying it wasn't a big deal and that it happens and they acted as if I was yelling at them. Maybe cause I was right but they couldn't honor the sign?!? My complaint isn't paying full price but rather the behavior that was surrounding it. I love this store. Not only is this the only place in town that I can find my dogs food (Victor) they also have self service dog washing stations............ and for $10! I have used the stations twice. They make my life so much easier since I can I've my dog a bath, they provide the station, shampoo, towels and blower. I have been to a few pet supermarkets and this is by far the best. First off the manager Chris is so friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. All the staff are always nice and accommodating and run a very clean facility and they make sure the dog wash area is always clean and stocked with all the necessary items needed. I went to another location two weeks ago only out of necessity and they were not friendly and had to ask for an apron and they gave us one. I will drive to and from anywhere to go to this location which says a lot. read more

Always a great experience at this location. Super friendly employees, great deals and a good location. Parking can be a challenge since it's in a plaza with a lot of other places (including a movie theater), plus it's right next to a Mellow Mushroom. Store is extremely clean, easy to navigate, and always has what I need. The one or two times they didn't an employee was able to get it from the back. I usually go for dog food and a few treats here and there, so i'm not a major variety shopper. Great place for pet stuff, and get the VIP card - lots of savings! read more

Had a weird experience with this very young man behind the counter today, he must be new because I have not seem him before and he was somewhat unprofessional in his language. Didn't bother me too much, just found it to be an "interesting" experience. We've been coming to this location for 2 years now and we love it! The staff is extremely helpful and they have pretty much everything you need here. We shop for our dog here and we get his food, toys, and bones here. They have a lot of good dog food brands (Taste of the Wild, Merrick, Nature's Balance, etc.). When we first got our dog, we had so many questions about the types of food we should be feeding him and the staff was knowledgable and really helpful. If you join their VIP club, you'll get coupons mailed to you and when you buy 10 bags of dog food, you'll get your next one free! The coupons really come in handy. There were a couple months where we were getting "25% off your total purchase" coupons and those help a lot, especially because dog food can be really expensive. We love this place. Have been going for well over a year now. It's one of the few places in Winter Park that sells the brand of dog food we feed(TOTW)and other high quality dog foods. The location and parking can be a bit nuts since it's located in the same plaza as the movie theater and next to Mellow Mushroom. The staff is always friendly and greet you when you walk in. Someone is always asking if you need assistance . And they also offer assistance to your car if needed. I recommended getting the VIP card to get the savings. Beware of Pet Supermarket's new return policy!!! This store is not exchanging or refunding items according to the manager on duty. I purchased a doggie life vest that was much smaller than indicated on the packaging. I tried to swap it out and the manager stopped me at the door and told me their company is not honoring the 30-day exchange or refund policy printed on the back of the receipt. Went here for our new lovely adopted dog mocha vaccination. They offered licensed veterinarian on weekend at certain time and location which can be found online. You save way more money here on vaccination. However, you don't come here for examination. You would want to find a good local vet to do the physical exam of the pets or health concern check up. This is place you know the dog in good condition. It just follow up for the vaccination. You also can get trifexis here. Then later on just purchase online on their website. ( After researching and researching. Asked​ all my pets owner friends. We found trifexis to be the best. It's a pills to be take once a month during meal. For the pet to eat incase someone got confused here. It protected against heartworm. Flea & tick. Also other parasites stuff. Its little pricy. But $122 for 6 months. I tend to avoid sales associates because so many these days (sorry, it's true) are too busy on their phones, or generally not interested in working hard to help customers. As we were shopping, we were approached by Carly, who immediately assessed that we were shopping for a new puppy and offered a handy puppy essentials list. She was also very helpful in picking out toys and an appropriate crate. They had gotten in two cats available for adoption and knew nothing about them. An associate was giving out incorrect information about transporting animals to European countries and bragged about he was offered a job in the UK and turned it down because of the importation laws. Before associates give out information, they should know the correct information. And they should know basic information (such as type of cat) about pets that they hope to adopt out. read more

I am a good customer and have spent lots of my hard earned money here. I have had problems with SOME workers running their mouths and demeaning my character. Next time a fool that knows no better than to disrespect a customer, I will go up to them and confront them, then call headquarters. I don't put up with this from anyone, but especially a business where I spend my money. People don't realize that the person may be listening and I don't have the patience or tolerance. I don't care what anyone there thinks of me, but if I'm spending my money, I don't deserve the adolescent behavior, seeming I'm not 15. This is by far the best pet store in all of Orlando! I wanted a hand held bird, fell in love with a pineapple conure a year ago New Year's Eve! The manager of this particular store encourages the birds that come in to his store to be handled by one of his employees, Jamie, who knows how to handle a bird. This is so important when selling an expensive bird, because it just makes it so much easier for me when I go to purchase this delightful bird. Because of David the manager has encouraged the socializing of the conure, he/she makes for an easier transition, and a much happier bird! I was so impressed with my new conure I named him after Jamie! My bird is very much loved, and I appreciate the warmth of the employees which David creates! So much help, as I had never had a conure before. David, Jamie and the rest of this store have become my friends here in Winter Park. I've had birds before, not every pet store understands the essential need to pay attention to their birds, and I'm very grateful!
