I was told they couldn't do anything about warranty exchange or anything bc they are not allowed to take used or broken/defective product back. I explained that it's 60 days into a one year warranty period, and she abruptly told me again they couldn't take back open or defective product back, and that I could try contacting the manufacturer... I tried to explain that they were the manufacturer and she still said she wouldn't help. I then called into Petsmart customer service, and after being hung up on once, put on an extended 25 minute hold after requesting to speak to a supervisor, was told that they had no power to do anything as it was an in store purchase. This is such a joke. The supervisor insisted the only way to get this resolved was for her to submit a formal complaint to the stores and that the store manager would be reaching out to me by phone at most 48hrs. My tank has already been down for 24 hrs, and now it's likely going to be 72 hours before I even get a call back. They really dont seem to care about anything other than getting your money. There was literal attitude with every person I have spoken with both in store and over the phone at their customer care call center, and now my fish are going to be dead.

Another time I was in your store, you had a hamster that had just given birth, eating her babies. Yet the employees claimed all the hamsters in that cage were female, they weren't there was a clear male in there. The male also went over and started eating the babies. If you were truly doing things the right way, you wouldn't have so many animal rescues, including reptile and ferret ones, even vets trying to buy you out. First off the store is so blazing hot it's amazing that any of the animals are even comfortable, I was sweating just being in there. I had my ferrets with me hiding in my messenger bag where they would normally stay but was greeted with "your ferrets will kill my birds." I really wasn't allowed to counter because she kept saying they would kill them. My ferrets have never hunted a day in their lives and most of those birds were twice their size. I wished I had left at that point, but decided to keep going. Dust was every where. Finally make it to the small animals and it seems the rats and hamsters have lost their minds wanting out and pawing and their containers. Bunnies and chinchillas kept in cages far too small. Then I saw it... a small little travel bunny cage with a hammock in it. I began to panic "please don't tell me that's what they keep the ferrets in..." I kept telling myself. My guess it was but they had just sold the last ferret. If I had seen any I probably would have adopted them right away. All of those animals deserve much larger proper housing not just the ferrets. Them having the animals on display like this just makes people think it's okay for their animal that needs room to play and run around can live in a cage like that. They can't and it breaks my heart! More so they have an employee that owns 4 ferrets I truly hope she is teaching a raw diet and a much large cage. I won't assume if she is or isn't but she was super nice. The lady behind the counter was nicer with the second interaction also when I could talk about my fuzzies. Just because of the conditions the small animals were in I can't give this place any higher it breaks my heart to see them like this. Petco and Petland have larger enclosures and that says something even if those aren't big enough.

When we walked in, there was a sign in desk for people with reservations, I informed the young lady at the desk that we were only there to browse and we did not intend on purchasing a puppy. The amicable hostess told us it was totally fine to look around and to let her know if we wanted to play with any of the dogs. They had a small selection of toys and grooming items, nothing impressive. I'm a dog lover and knew if I held any of the pups I would want to take one home , so we just observed through the window. While we were observing, I noticed 1 dog in a cage with 3 others being attacked. Everyone said they were playing but they kept going for his neck, and he wasn't even defending himself... it broke my heart to not be able to help and put him in a different cage. We also saw a cute min Schnauzer with tons of energy in a cage with another breed who was either very tired or very sick. All the dogs looked like they could use a bath and none looked happy. Prices were not listed and I didn't bother to ask since pet store prices are historically high. If I was in the market for a puppy and wanted to know the lineage I would go to a breeder. It is not clear where these random dogs come from and even what they are mixed with. In my opinion, these dogs are not much different than the ones you would find at the Humane Society, other than the price. We left Petland Puppies feeling sad for the canines, hoping they all find a forever home soon.

I leave for a few minutes and come back to ask him another question about the time in which the Kitty Angel rescue would be there the following Wednesday, and he rudely said "did you check the sign by the door like I told you?" He did not tell me to check the sign. I said I saw the store hours were 9-9. He said "Well that sign does not say their hours are 9-9". He then points to the sign and says "4-8, 4-8, 4-8" I apologize and say I didn't see the sign. He said "I should have checked". Altogether rude experience, rude interaction, and bad customer service. I've been to 3 Petco locations so far in the metro area and at all 3 locations I received consistently great customer service and met some very knowledgeable staff. So I think it's safe to say Petco may be doing better than Petsmart when it comes to customer service.
