Every time there have been multiple employees ready and willing to answer my (potentially stupid) questions with knowledgeable, nonjudgmental responses. I love this store and the wonderful staff! They are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to share their knowledge and do whatever they can to help! Recently, at the suggestion of my vet, I made the transition off kibble and onto a healthier raw diet for my Chinchilla Persian cat, Amore. Let's just say Amore was less than thrilled and decided a hunger strike was in order. Jenna, at Top Dogs, was so helpful in coaching me through the transition and even gave me a written list of suggestions as to how to make the diet change as seamless as possible for my little fluffy friend. Jenna even gave me great suggestions on how to keep the cost down and, now that Amore is comfortable with his new diet, gives me advanced notice when the food will go on sale. They have the cutest store, and it's tucked away in the corner of the strip mall (behind Del Taco and Longhorn), so you might not expect it, but you walk in and you're in a little pet heaven! Found out about the store this spring when they hosted Pawfest, and have been in love ever since! They have the cutest collars, toys, and accessories, and all kinds of great snacks and food products for your little puppers! (Kittehs too, but I don't shop for that). The best part about this store, however, is the staff! They will absolutely take the time to love on your pup (if you bring him/her in), answer your questions, and be your most excellent guides on your trip around the store. We've been loyal to Top Dog since we moved for almost a year. Always had a great experience until the last 2. Last time I was there I specifically asked to ensure my order when to our account so my husband can pick up food when I'm out of town. I called this morning and got put on hold for a long time and when the gal came back and I asked her to pull up my order and help my husband - she tells me nothing is there from last month. So not only on my last visit did they not give me credit for my order this time when I said oh great it's really not there she just flat out hung up the telephone and when i called back they never picked up the phone again. The call was at 10:59 today and lasted 4 minutes before I was hung up on. We will be taking our business elsewhere. What terrible customer service being provided to VERY loyal customers. If you imagined Paris Hilton walking around with a $3K Shitzu in a Prada handbag shopping for the perfect diamond-encrusted satin collar... ...then this is NOT what Top Dog is all about. Don't get me wrong, I thought the same thing until I walked in. Yes, they sell a lot of "fancy" accessories for small dogs, but they're also so much more. They have 2Hounds Design martingale collars for sight hounds. They have a great selection of holistic and grain free dog foods. For example, they carry a large Nature's Variety selection of raw diet food -- a freezer dedicated to the various frozen products. Top Dog also has a selection of nicer (e.g. not PetSmart or Petco) dog beds that you would normally have to order, including MidwestHomes4Pets premium beds. 3rd star - Reasonable prices; honor frequent buyer programs Let's be fair -- prices at local shops can often NOT compete with Amazon.com and other online retailers. That said, I feel like, if I shop carefully at Top Dog, I find decent deals that allow me to support a local business. Rubit Dog Tag Clips for $7 are a steal. Premier nylon leads are available for about $8 each. Their prices on some of the grain free food lines are in line with brick-and-mortar PetSmart and Petco. For example, Taste of the Wild 30# bags are $47 before tax. Additionally, based on conversations with employees, Top Dog honors frequent buyer programs from several of their dog food vendors. 4th star - Customer service Most Top Dog employees have a good knowledge of the nutritional products based on our visits to the store. They try the products themselves and can give you information based on their own experiences. PetSmart employees don't do this very often. They're also willing to special order items in the store, such as 2Hounds Design martingale collars and the aforementioned dog tag clips. I get the impression that they have good relationships with their vendors and can get a hold of what you need if you don't find it in the store. Terrible experience with dog chew toys. None of the squeaky toys squeaked across various products and brands. Just got excuses from them. Bought another chew toy the specifically recommended as their toughest one for heavy chewers but dog chewed it open same day. They refused a refund and told me to call the company who made it. Contacted them but warranty is very limited and I'd have to pay to send it back. Top Dog didn't take responsibility for their own products. Target takes return and gives refunds for these exact same products and I've since read numerous bad reviews on these toys so Top dog knows about the problem yet still sells them and won't back their products. That's very bad business and I had to throw away their products so I'm out of pocket quite a bit of money. Won't go back. read more

This pet shop is honestly so so cute! Don't let the store front fool you, it's actually a pretty big store! They jam pack this store with lots of goodies. I can hands down say this is a top 3 best pet store I have been to, and that is saying A LOT because I have been to at least over 100 and am a snooty pet mama. With that said, the lady with straight light hair and glasses is beyond wonderful. We came on halloween night, of course rather than trick or treating I am treating my pooch. They were giving away goody bags for dogs and water bottles for human. Then the lady packed me a nice big bag of samples, woohooo. I would say prices here are pretty standard to superior pet stores, you won't find a bargain here, but you will definitely find quality. They also take returns on anything, even frozen items. It's no secret I spoil my dogs. So a friend of mine told me about this place and after a google search I fould out that they also carried the specialty dog food I like to feed the furkids. The dogfood is about all this place offers for me. Don't get me wrong I'm not trashing the place at all. It's a specialized store with plenty of goddies but most of it is geared towards smaller breed dogs. Items they offered for larger breeds where not reasonable as far as quality or performance, in otherwords more cutsey that practical. Having a working dog I need collars and gear for him that are built for the long haul, my other dog is just a brute and can destroy a cutesy collar in seconds. This store is one of two locations the other being in Kennesaw has everything from toys, beds, treats, food and clothing for the hairy friend in your life. If you want a little something "out side of the box" Top Dog has decorations and gifts, mini models of our breed, Pooch Reads (glasses for you) and that Bing needed for walking or just plain showing off. I went here for the first time about a week and a half ago, and I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff. It's a small store but most of what they sell is things the larger chain stores don't carry - most notably a lot of natural, organic, and earth-friendly foods and toys. I went there because I was looking to switch my dog's diet and had done some good research. But the staff member who helped me was very knowledgable and could tell me about specific dog food brands and even specific formulas. I explained what my dog's medical condition was and what she had been on and the store associate (whose name I believe is Lauren) gave me excellent advice. She even gave me a small sample bag of a second type of similar food, just to see if my dog liked that too, and asked if I wanted any more samples. I've been to many pet stores and "dog boutiques" and I've never been offered free samples before, which I think says a lot. She also said that they have an open bag return policy on the food in case it didn't work out. Oh, and a big thing - if your dog likes elk antlers get them here. I recently moved here from FL and was searching for a store that carried Taste of the Wild dog food. I was happy to find one so I went in at my lunch to buy a bag and look around the store. The staff are all very nice and helpful and they carry a wide variety of products. They were knowledgeable on supplements for dogs as well and gave me some suggestions on things to try. They even gave me some homemade dog treats as I was leaving. To top it off they even sponsor pet events and do a lot of charity work for animals. This is my go to store now for all put supplies. It can be a little pricey, but if you are looking for something specific (King Charles Cavalier mousepad comes to mind) or a gift for a dog-lover, this is the perfect place. They also have a selection of organic food and treats. What I love are the sample-size food bags. They end up being about 2 servings for my dog, so that I don't try a new food and am stuck with a 10 lbs. bag when my dog doesn't like it. read more

Top Dogs is a great shop with a large variety of grain-free and organic pet food options. One of my cats has a lot of medical issues, and finding food that won't aggravate her conditions is a real challenge (she has renal lymphoma, hyperthyroidism, and allergies). Top Dogs has several brands I can happily feed her and the prices are cheaper than those I've found online! I have a large dog and they know exactly what she needs. I used to shop at Petco until I found this amazing food there that Petco doesn't carry. Last weekend I took my dachshund to the GA dachshund races and won a raffle for a $50 gift card to top dogs! I had never been here and I came in today to get my dogs some goodies with the gift card. They had so much cute stuff and lots of great natural treats! They also sell natural dog food which they sent me home with several samples of! I have a rescue white lab and needed a lot of information, expertise and answers. I got all! The food selection is the best for quality and nutrition. They take their time is helping you along in making a good decision. They know each label and what each has to offer your pet. I had all the help in the world to start out my rescue lab with quality food and snacks. The store is well stocked and you can find quality in other items from harnesses (for walking and for riding in the car) to clothing, etc. I was welcomed and everyone was very helpful. The store is bright and well organized. I enjoyed browsing and getting ideas for future shopping and gift giving.
