This review is for the grooming Salon at Petco on Cobb Parkway. I brought my Shih Tzu in there for bath and grooming and they reiterated to me that they would trim her nails. A couple days ago her little paw was all bloody, and I thought that she had stepped on a nail or something sharp ;( Rushed her to Cedercrest Animal Hospital and thank God they fit her in Apparently, they did not cut all of her nails, and one of the nails was embedded in her paw, and became infected. The grooming was done by the manager Amanda, who is the rudest person I've ever met! This place should be shut down. I do not know how the health department hasn't shut this hole down!!! This was the worst grooming I have ever seen, but I never thought to check her nails to make sure everything was OK. I assumed the manager would know what she's doing!! The doctor had to remove the impacted nail and put her on antibiotics because it was that infected. Please do not bring your pets to this groomer they do not know what they are doing, nor do they care about you dogs ;(( It's a shame that they are still in business. Honestly, I don't know how the health department doesn't check up on these places. Please do your research before you bring your sweet babies to a groomer that is in no way qualified to be taking care of pets ;( read more

I come to Petco for a few things that Petsmart does not carry. One brand that Petco carries that Petsmart does not carry is Solid Gold. I believe Petco is the only pet store company that carries their stuff except Chewy.com. I've tried a couple of other "higher quality" pet stores out there including Red Bandana and Hollywood Feed and they do not carry this brand. They have the Fit as a fiddle Alaskan Pollock dry food as well as blended tuna in gravy that all my cats can enjoy...including the one prone to an urinary tract infection. Solid Gold is one of the few commercially available foods that is low in ash and magnesium which is what is those with UTI need...but definitely check with your vet first.... I also think Petco's customer service is better than Petsmart in general. Not that I've needed help with purchasing things but every time I'm in a Petco I get an associate asking me if I need help with something which I think is very nice...this rarely if ever happens in Petsmart... read more

This review is specifically for petco grooming services. They have completely traumatized my small dog and injured her so badly o her rear end, she cannot go to the bathroom. My poor baby is scooting around every time she has to potty. This is the second time she has returned from the groomers injured in such a state. I will have to follow up with a vet appt tomorrow but I do NOT RECOMMEND this groomer at all. Especially for smaller dogs, they are not equipped. Horrible read more

The employees here were very polite and actually extremely helpful. I appreciate the grooming salon for taking my baby Yorky at the last minute. I will definitely be back here for services. My puppy has been licking his paws ever seance we got home from the grooming session. I kept scolding him to not lick his paws but he won't stop for more than a minute. I finally turned him over and looked at his right paw. It has a chunk of skin out of the paw pad. I believe the groomer cut his paw while cutting his nails. Love, love, love Petco. Used to go to PetSmart before Petco came to Acworth a few years ago. He put out puppy through training there which was a great experience. We love the natural Treat Bar. You can pick out the trats you pup loves the most and pay by the pound. At $3.99 a pound, not a bad deal when you consider the variety you get. If you bought 5 or 6 different types of prepackaged treats, you would pay a whole lot more. Many selections of organic and all natural pet foods, treats, supplements and more. Mainstream and specialty toys are another great offering. We adopted our second Jack Russel there through Etowah Valley Anical Shelter which was a great experience and he has been the perfect addition to our family. They also offer vaccination clinics at a great cost savings *you need to call for the scheduled dates). The staff are nothing but helpful from advice to grabbing items from high shelves, to helping you to your car if needed. Be sure to sign up for Petco Rewards - I get very excited when I get my coupons in my email from Petco. It's a good excuse to buy a little something special for my four-legged babies. Additionally, I highly recommend the doggie spa on site. One of my pups is a bit skittish, but he loves the staff there and I have never had problems leaving him. I want to give a big Thank You to the Petco dog training team and their positive training techniques. I specifically want to recognize and recommend trainer Pearce Carson. My wife and I started with an uncontrollable 4 month German Malinois puppy and after a series of lessons with Pearce, Baby is now a loose leash command obeying dog. She was terrified of strangers when we started but immediately took to Pearce and listened carefully to everything he asked. His positive technique has been amazing to watch the transformation in her, and he has taken the time to teach us (through the same positive motivation ). The store is very clean and well stocked and the rest of the staff are friendly and welcoming as well. Again, thank you so much to the staff, company, and especially Pearce. read more

Stopped by yesterday to look at their saltwater fish selection. I was very impressed with the way that things have improved over the last several months. All the fish looked very healthy and the tanks were very clean. I will definitely buy fish from this location again in the future. read more

I think this store has pretty good customer service and they stock foods that you cannot get at Petsmart. Be aware that the times listed here for opening are correct at 10am. The signage on the door says 9am however I just tried to go in at 9:20 and they are in fact closed. Do NOT go by times listed on the door. read more

The store at 3372 Cobb Pkwy Nw Acworth Ga, today my dogs were in for grooming. It will be my last I have used this location for ten years. Today my grooming charge was increase by over $30.00. When I spoke with what was supposed to be a manager she basically said I was lying to her. This is not how any customer should be treated and especially someone who has used this location for ten years. I realized by the way I was treated today they obviously have plenty of customers so losing one is not important to them. I wish I could do this review with no stars. read more

I usually love this place and the staff. Friendly, helpful and patient. I know when I walk in I'll get what I came for and I know Jack will be accepted and cared for as if he was one of their dogs! I've never been let down and totally appreciate them. However I have been in there a few times on weekends and it's very clustered with adoptions and eventually they got the better of me and I thought about jack needing a fur buddy. The tattooed lady I spoke was snarky both times and seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. She faked a smile but was begrudgingly doing her job. Not everyone wants to get in your pants honey! I almost didn't come back to the store because of it but the next time was pleasant And the skinny high school girl was so nice and everyone answered all my questions but the snarky one hadn't returned. This Petco near my home had 2 ferrets (1 male and 1 female) that had been returned by the original purchaser because the female was a biter... I was interested in the male and checked with the manager on duty to see how much of a discount he would be since they were returned and the fact that there was no record of these ferrets having been vetted... she contacted the store manager and came back to me stating that they would discount the male 30% and the female 40%...the difference being the fact that the female bites...I told them that since they were the same age and where purchase and return together they should be the same price... Also they are a little bit older... She tried to argue with me on that point... I told her I have one that was born in December at home and these two are quite a bit bigger than he is... She went to get the paperwork to find out that they were, in fact, born in October so they are already six months old... She refused to come down any further on the price leading me to believe they don't really concerned himself with finding good homes for their live pets and so I left the store...buyer beware... read more

Ive been going to this petco for a while and when i would go the trainers were so nice and always listened and helped but then one left and i dont see the other as much and now i have to get "help" from the two older women there who look like they would rather be anywhere else and dont have very good customer communication skills. They dont like to have to price match things even tho the whole store hsd prices that are wrong or not up to date with online prices. I liked going here because it was close to my house and always had what i needed but now im going to make the trip to the Kennesaw location because they seem so much nicer and always want to help. This is a good location to get in and get the heck out when you find what you need. If you like getting help, asking questions or doing anything that might require customer service you might not enjoy the help this location has to offer. read more
