Although I live 32 miles from this store when I'm near I make a stop! Am I the only person who enjoys buying Valentine cat toys for her clients. Today's quest ~ new dog bed. Tried one other place that had a VERY limited selection, so we came here. I thought it was great that they were holding a dog clinic to get your dog's shots all up to date. But, I digress. Plenty of dog beds and we found one that was washable. Everyone was helpful, but check out was a bit of a problem. One, the checker was having a problem processing the check, and I was totally delighted that when she called the manager over, he made her say please. Sooooooooooooo necessary. Finally, another person was able to check us out while the woman in front of us was still at the register. Lots of other pet supplies, but we limited ourselves to the dog goods. I go to this store about once a week to buy crickets for my bearded dragons which I bought as babies at this location. The best part is the staff are friendly and automatically offer to help me with what I need. I love how I can get in and out quickly. When I place online curbside orders, they are prompt when answering the phone and bringing out my order. They make it super convenient! When you call, there is an option to press if you are there to pick up curbside. There is also a parking spot right in front labeled for curbside pickup. I started shopping at PSP two years ago when I moved to Bolingbrook. The main reason was distance... it was 10 minutes from my home. Previously, I had always shopped at Petsmart, but the Bolingbrook location was just too far away. At first, I was skeptical and not impressed. The kids they had working there had no customer service skills--didn't greet customers, didn't mention the PSP member card, didn't ask if you needed help (even when they were standing right next to you in the aisle stocking items). But the service got better, I started seeing different employees there, especially Stephanie who is the epitome of great customer service. Almost every time I shopped, she was working there. She was very helpful in answering questions about pet products, such as Frontline vs Advantix, and shampoos for pets with sensitive skin. While, at first glance, the prices seem a tad high, I quickly realized how to get the most for my money... with their PSP member card, sales ads they email you, and coupons they email you. With all those discounts combined, the products ended up being cheaper than Petsmart/Petco's sale prices. The bigger all those other big box stores get, they more I prefer shopping at PSP. It is smaller, the products are easier to grab (I don't have to walk to Timbuktu to get what I need), they stock all the brands I want (Science Diet, Iams, grain-free food, etc.), the store is clean (no doggie pee puddles around every corner) and the customer service is great... thanks in part to Stephanie. read more

It's very organized and clean, very easy to find what you are looking for. I actually like that it's smaller so I'm not roaming around searching for what I need. The store is very clean, employees are always stocking and organizing, and whenever I bring an animal in with me they are always friendly and inquire about my pet. I have a cat who is on a raw diet right now because it is the only food that doesn't agitate her condition. This is one of the few stores close to me that carries commercial raw diets. I brought a dog I was fostering in with me recently and I swear EVERY employee came over and gave her love. They were genuinely interested in her story and I really appreciated that. While it is important to to do your own research on food and supplies for you pet, this is always great stop to make with your pet for socialization, especially if you love to talk about your pet. I also love their huge selection of treats. I even have befriend other shoppers there! I enjoy visiting and picking up a special treat for my dogs. The employees are so friendly, they all get along well together, it is obvious, and I love that type of atmosphere. read more

I went in to purchase a few fish for my son as a reward for doing well in school, thinking I would just grab some fish and supplies and go, but little did I know I would given a wealth of information about how to care for the fish.
