Also, the guy at PetCo who was working that area, not sure if he was a manager, it seemed like it, he was VERY rude! Basically had the attitude of "well, that's all we have, so..." he might as well have told me to go elsewhere, which, as I said, I will. The cashiers at PetCo on the other hand, were very friendly and greeted everyone as they entered, and were friendly to each customer at checkout. As for the manager, he should maybe find a different line of work that doesn't entail answering customers' questions (or dealing with the public at all)

I won't buy fish from any other store any longer, as the fish you get from Petco or Petsmart will die 9 times out of 10 within a short time frame. Chris's fish last much longer than that, and he won't even sell you a fish if he doesn't think it looks healthy or has a flaw. Also, it's way better to buy local and support local stores instead of shelling over money for the big box pet supply stores. This time was very different. We were greeted by "do you have an appointment"; no hello, good morning, nothing. I had a large cage in my hand. When I explained that I had arranged with one of their staff to donate, they didn't seem to know what to do. One manager was apparently there, but he was on the phone and didn't have time for us. They finally had us put everything on the floor. After a moment of awkward silence we just left. I drove an hour to donate many supplies, but left feeling like they thought it was an intrusion. All the volunteer workers were so nice and helpful. They educated us on the different breeds and how to care for them. The birds here are cared for remarkably well, including clean cages, daily fresh salads and monthly vet checkups. You can't just walk in here and walk out with a bird. They vet people extensively, because these animals are a lot of work and some live to age 80! Be patient with their process. It makes sense.
