Amazing experience!!! I was welcomed by Raeanne as I walked through the door and so were all the other customers that entered after me. The store is so well kept and the animals are well taken care of and loved tenderly! All the employees are so friendly and greeted me with a bright smile. It was a pleasure to see photos being taken of the animals that were shopping with their owners. I was told they post the animal photos on Facebook recognizing and celebrating them! How wonderful! This store also hosts rescue groups to bring awareness to great causes in the animal community! Very rude manager yelling at customers about not standing on line correctly, yet no signs Telling customers which line to stand on, not clearly marked re Social distancing,and if you're on checkout line number three there is no safe way to exit while observing Social distancing. The cashier told me to exit outside the indoor, while the manager had reprimanded me severely for coming in the outdoor. She was rude to all on line, including seniors. They really need to learn some courtesy. You still need our business , pandemic or not, we could always buy pet food somewhere else. This is the best service! I am very satisfied with my shopping online experience. If the Pet Supplies are having an issue with your order they try very hard to accommodate you. I have had the Oceanside store call me when they are out of stock on an item to see if the order can be fulfilled by substitution. I could be happier! They are the best! read more

the manager at this location is very unaccomodating. dog food on self was placed whether it be by a customer or employee at wrong price.however they were placed 1 behind the other like they belonged there.when at register they rang up 3 dollars more as I stated the price I was told they must have been moved I do feel I should have been charged the price it stated where they were placed .good customer service would have done that. instead Phil in a rude manner stated there were only 3 cans if that were the price there would be a case.Newsflash Phil not of the shelves are stocked with cases except the 6 dollar per cans Good job phil lost another customer.horrible customer service I think you need to take a refresher course!! read more

In general, I like this store and the weekend coupons they offer. They usually have the Stella and Chewy's Duck and Lamb in stock. The staff is also usually helpful and courteous. Unfortunately Tonight was not a pleasant experience. I saw a 10% off coupon through yelp and decided to use THAT coupon vs the $10 off weekend coupon since my purchase was close to $200 before tax. Yelp promised 10% off if I checked in which I did. Pet supplies plus would only honor $10 off. Receipt here to check the math for yourself. False advertising or just an annoying error for customers. Either way, I wouldn't have spent $200 if I was only getting a $10 discount. When I questioned the salesperson about it, she offered to re-ring up the merchandise, which she did, and then spent the next few minutes arguing with me that the total discount the system showed ($10) was equal to 10% of my purchase. Sorry, but please do the math before you decide to argue with a customer. read more

I was in the Area 5/8/2020 and seen the store, I decided to go in because I am a new fish tank owner I have a 20 Gallon tank, I have four small cichlids so I thought that since they are small I can get one more. I went into the store . A young lady approached me and the first thing she asked me was how many fish do you have and how big is your tank, so I told her I had four fish and the size of my tank, she said no you can't buy another fish. I was taken back, so I said why? she said you can't have anymore fish in that tank, I can't sell you any fish and walked way. This Really pissed me off because she didn't give me a chance to let her know that I had another tank that I was going to Start, I started to think that it was maybe because I'm black she not went to sell me a fish.?? What the hell. So before I got disrespectful I decided to leave the store and as I walked away I turned around and asked her what was her name because I was going to call their corporate office and complain as I was walking out the store manager stopped me to see what happened and why did I want the sales rep for her name. I told her but of course she said that wasn't the case, I just walked out, I was so upset that I didn't write her name and can't remember it but how many fish can I keep in a 20 gallon tank????? read more

The store is very clean and we'll stocked. The staff greet you when you come in and ask if there is anything that can help you with. During this time it is so nice to feel welcomed in a Store as well as feeling SAFE. The store is not an easy one at the front to adhire to social distancing but they blocked it off to make it work as well as arrows directing traffic and little squares for social distancing. When the store got crowded they closed the door and monitored the people coming in and leaving and the person at the door thanked everyone for supporting the store and for their patience. The manager there has great running store and I often hear her thanking her staff and the customers. I am thankful they are there for my family. I have a pet store closer to my house but I make the trip because of their kindness read more

I absolutely love this store. All of the staff is always so kind and helpful and always have a smile on their face. I'm always greeted when I walk in and treated like family each and every time. You can tell they really care about their customers especially during these hard times. They have marks on the floors for social distancing and directed us accordingly which way to enter and exit the building. Not happy with the way the animals, particularly the pet birds are kept in this store. Many parakeets kept in one small cage. Birds looked unhealthy. When I questioned the manager as to why the parakeets were being fed nutrition-less bird seed instead of the much healthier small pellet diet, she turned on me and ranted about the policy of the store was to feed the birds seed, end of discussion. I tried to explain that I used to be a bird breeder and have experience, but she turned away and I left. If you want to buy supplies at the store, go ahead. If you want to buy a live animal, I would discourage you not to do it. read more

I spent some time at the Oceanside store with our rescue group, Long Island Rabbit Rescue. I was amazed at how the store employees welcomed all the four and two legged animals. It was very busy but the clients were quick with their purchases so they could come spend time learning about rabbits and our rescue group. All the people, four and two legged, left with a smile. I purchased a new tank and fish from here two months ago, everything went smoothly. I returned to purchase an additional fish and was informed that I had the wrong tank and too many fish for the tank. Pretty upsetting has these are my daughters pets. I don't understand why I would be sold something that was incorrect, I expected them to be knowledgeable as I know nothing about this. Their response was who helped you? I can't remember it was two months ago and what does that matter?! They also said it's common knowledge that it's 1 fish per gallon, again something I didn't know-I would check your facts and google before trusting what they say. When I asked if I could exchange or get a discount on a larger tank they said I can't as it's been used - well obviously. They put me in this situation. Pretty disappointing as I will be buying a bigger tank elsewhere. read more

I wanted to give a shout out to the store manager who has on numerous occasions gone out of her way to help me and my children with our cat and betta fish. I think she is an excellent representative for our community. She has given my family great advice with maintaining healthy options for our pets and when my kids come into the store she remembers them and always asks if they want to help feed the fish or name an animal. My nephew has started working at the store and he has developed so much confidence and always comes home and starts telling us what a great job he was told he does, you do not see that often, not only does he love his job he wants to continue to work hard to become a manager. This is coming from a kid that was so unsure of himself but because of his manager he now feels he can move up and run a store like that. Yes the manager is a strong woman and yes she works very hard, but she is all about her people and store. My family is lucky to have met her and will continue to support the store. read more

This is the only pet store I go to now, they have an awesome selection of food and merchandise. I love that it's usually not too busy and you can bring your animal along for the trip. What really makes this place shine, though, is the employees. Kerina in particular is always smiling and eager to help, despite the questions I bombard her with. I have been coming to Pet Supplies Plus in Oceanside for about a year for help with my fish tank, and I have always experienced great advice and a friendly and helpful staff. Today, I was shocked to see that some of the kindness and most helpful staff members was antagonized by a manager, and used unprofessional language to describe the individual's work ethic. This individual has always been extremely pleasant, as well as passionate about helping customers. I felt the need to say something about this, because I was bothered so much by the incident. The management should not embarrass or insult employees in such manner, but rather work on improving, if improvement is the issue, especially employees who are always putting the customer's needs first. As a manger of a corporate retail company, I have never seen such an unprofessional management setting of putting workers down and insulting them to the fullest degree.Today has changed my views on this particular PSP location. read more
